Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Snakewood Wand
Toby and Jamie had just entered Ollivander's wand shop when Mr. Ollivander greeted them from behind the counter.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Ollivander, we meet again."
Toby responded with a smile.
"Oh, so it's Mr. Regbo. The wand you bought earlier was elderberry and thestral tail feathers. It's fifteen inches. It's a powerful wand, if I remember correctly."
Ollivander blinked and said softly.
"Of course, your memory has always been very good, although I bought my wand from you two days ago."
Toby smiles.
"However, Mr. Ollivander, it's only been a few days, how did Diagon Alley become like this?"
"Oh! It's all due to that evil dark wizard a few days ago. He set off Fiendfire in Diagon Alley and almost destroyed Diagon Alley."
"It's a good thing that Dumbledore and the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic put out the Fiendfyre, otherwise my wand shop would have been burned down too. You know, there are thousands of wands in my shop."
Ollivander looked terrified.
"That's really lucky. We walked along the way and saw many shops burnt down. Fortunately, your wand shop is fine, otherwise we would have no place to buy wands."
Toby blinked and smiled.
"You are right, Mr. Regbo! Thanks to the ancestors of the Ollivander family for choosing the location of the shop here."
Ollivander nodded in agreement. If his wand shop was a little closer to Gringotts, it would have been destroyed.
"Then, Mr. Ollivander, this is my best friend Jamie Campbell Ball. He is also a young wizard who will enter Hogwarts this year. I hope I can buy a wand from you."
"After all, you have the best wands here, don't you?"
Toby smiled and kissed his a** a little.
Sure enough, Ollivander was very happy. He liked nothing more than hearing a wizard say that his wand was the best.
"Then, Mr. Ball, come forward, I need to measure your body data. By the way, which arm do you use to use the wand?"
As Ollivander said, he took out a long measuring tape with silver scales from his pocket.
"I'm right-handed."
Jamie replied.
"Okay okay."
Ollivander turned around as he spoke, and began to shuttle between the shelves, moving down the long boxes one by one.
"Every Ollivander wand has a superior magical substance, and that is the essence of it, Mr. Power."
"Most of what we used was unicorn hair, phoenix tail feathers and dragon heart nerves."
"Each Ollivander wand is unique because no two unicorns, dragons or phoenixes are alike."
"Of course, if you use a wand that should belong to another wizard, it will never have such good effect."
Ollivander placed a dozen long boxes on the counter.
"Mr. Ollivander, you tell every wizard who comes to your shop to buy a wand?"
Toby said.
"Oh, yes, this is the business language of our Ollivander family, probably since my great-great-great-grandfather's time."
Ollivander was not angry, and explained calmly.
Next, Jamie began to try wands one by one, but he and Toby were in the same situation. After all, they were the same person. After trying many wands, they still couldn't find the right one.
"Oh! Another fussy customer, but don't worry, Ollivander's wand shop will always have the wand you need."
Ollivander tossed aside the tried wands and turned to the back of the shelf, seemingly rummaging for something.
After about five minutes, Ollivander came out holding a long dusty box.
"Oh, actually I didn't make this magic wand, it was made by my father before his death. The material of this magic wand is very special. It is made of snake wood. With the nerve of a dragon, it has good toughness and great power to cast magic. powerful."
Ollivander opened the dusty box, which contained a wand.
"Snake wood? As far as I know, there is no such wood.
Jamie was a little curious.
"Yes, snake wood is a very precious wood. The snakewood is almost extinct. This piece of snake wood was obtained by my father in the depths of the Albanian forest when he traveled around the world."
"Come on, try it, Mr. Power."
Ollivander pushed the box forward.
Jamie stretched out his right hand and held the snakewood wand. For a moment, he felt that this wand was very suitable for him, with an indescribable feeling.
"Fluorescent flickering!"
Jamie uttered a spell, which was the Illuminating Charm, the most basic type of spell, a spell that little wizards could master in the first grade.
After Jamie cast the Illuminating Charm, the tip of the snakewood wand in his hand burst into a blaze of light.
This ray of light is so dazzling that people can hardly open their eyes. It illuminates the originally dark shop very brightly, and any darkness seems to disappear in front of this ray of light.
"Very nice wand. It suits me very well, Mr. Ollivander. I want this wand."
Jamie said with satisfaction.
"Your lighting spell is very good, Mr. Power, it seems that this snakewood wand is really suitable for you, but considering its preciousness, the price is a bit more expensive."
Ollivander smiled.
"Then, what is the price? It won't be too expensive, right?"
Jamie asked, raising an eyebrow.
