Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - And You Call This a Wand?! It's a Staff!
Unaware of the internal tragedy in the Malfoy family, Asmodeus and Dumbledore returned to the wand shop.
Upon entering the shop, they saw Garrick Ollivander already waiting for them, holding a massive box that was at least two meters long.
Asmodeus, with an eye that twitched slightly, looked at Dumbledore, who, at that moment, turned his gaze to the left, as if he didn't see what was happening.
Having calmed down, Asmodeus decided to ask anyway,
"Mr. Ollivander, are you sure this is a wand?"
"Huh? A wand? No, no, I don't have a wand that can withstand your magic, and I won't have time to make one before the start of classes. There's only a week left, so I decided to search the storage for wands and staffs made by my ancestors, but I found something more interesting."
Ollivander said and opened the box. In the box lay a staff, or rather, a pole made of wood, as it was straight without the tapering at the end, like Gandalf's staff. It looked more like a stick, a very long stick.
But to Asmodeus, it seemed very familiar—so familiar that he didn't want to believe it until he heard Ollivander's words.
"My great-grandfather found this staff in the mountains a long time ago. Although it looks like a long piece of wood, it has amazing magical conductivity, and," saying this, he shook the staff in his hand, and wings and stabilizers unfolded from the side of the staff.
Yes, this is an airbender staff from the Air Temple in the Avatar world. Apparently, just like him, it ended up here by falling somewhere in the mountains.
Olivander, without waiting for Asmodeus to say something, continued,
"This staff has amazing magic conductivity, and although it doesn't have high compatibility with your fire magic, it is extremely compatible with a certain element—wind. That's why I decided to let you try it. In any case, in our time, probably, no one else would need such a huge staff."
Ollivander said with a laugh.
"But, Mr. Ollivander, I won't be able to move in accordance with the gestures when casting spells if I use it," Asmodeus replied.
Garrick responded, "Young man, do you really think that someone with such talent and a magical reserve like yours needs to follow the book?"
At this point, Dumbledore nodded and said, "Yes, Asmodeus, your talent in magic cannot be hidden. Moreover, all the best wizards almost never adhere strictly to spell requirements. As long as you master magic well enough, everything will come naturally. Don't worry."
"How not to worry when everyone has wands from 10 to 14 inches, and I've got a nearly 2-meter staff? Are you mocking me?!"
"Alright, let's give it a try. If there's no alternative anyway, it's better than starting the study of magic in this world with wandless spells," he thought and said,
"Let me try. I hope this one won't be more expensive just because it's longer?" raising an eyebrow at Ollivander.
"Don't worry, we've been selling the first wand for 2,000 years at the price of 7 galleons, without exception."
That's what you call economic stability
"Okay," he replied and took the staff in his hands. Once again, he felt that strange sensation of a new channel for channeling energy in his body. But this time, instead of the whole staff igniting, a stream of flames shot out from the top of the staff, piercing through the roof and leaving a hole several meters in diameter.
He immediately dropped the staff upon seeing this, and without the supply of energy, the fire ceased.
Dumbledore said, "Don't worry, Asmodeus," and waved his hand. A mending spell caused the hole in the roof to mend itself, as if rewinding a video.
"Convenient magic," thought Asmodeus
At the same time, Ollivander also said, "Yes, young man, this is the best I can offer you right now. Maybe if you come next summer and order a custom wand from me, I might be able to help you, but it will be expensive."
"No need," replied Asmodeus. "I like this staff."
Paying for the purchase and leaving the store, Asmodeus turned to Dumbledore and said, "Professor Dumbledore, because of this staff, I'll need to modify my cloak so I can use it comfortably. Can I do that? Will it be a problem if my attire stands out?"
Dumbledore chuckled and replied, "Nothing to worry about, but it might be costly if you want to alter your clothing here in Diagon Alley."
"I know," he said. "I want to buy some threads in the Muggle world and sew it myself. Can I do that?"
"Of course, there is always someone at Hogwarts enhancing his robes. However, during official gatherings and holidays, you'll still have to use the regular black classic wizard robe, alright?"
"Alright. So, will you take me home?"
"Yes, hold on to my hand, and I will cast an apparetion spell."
Asmodeus took a step back and asked, "Isn't there another option?"
Dumbledore, laughing, replied, "No," and grabbed his hand.
Within a second, trying not to make lunch make a reappearance, Asmodeus was on his knees on the grass.
Dumbledore was watching him with a smile on his face.
"Alright, see you at the Sorting Ceremony," Dumbledore said, and Apparated back to Hogwarts.
Leaving Asmodeus to contemplate the essence of being and his hatred for the curse of teleportation.
