Chapter 2: Chapter 2: On the way!
As Obelia was embroidering a white snake with emerald green eyes she was startled by the sound of the compartment door opening.
"I finally found you! My name is Draco, Draco Malfoy." Draco extended his hand with a smile and Obelia shook it slowly.
"Obelia Wever, pleasure," she wanted to ask why he had been looking for her specifically but to have the handkerchief come out right she needed peace and concentration.' Isn't he supposed to be looking for Harry Potter with his goons?' Obelia thought for a second before continuing with her embroidery.
"My father told me all about the Wever family, they are quite popular in the underworld," Draco said before continuing, "He hopes for us to become good friends, it would be very beneficial for the both of us, so what do you say?" Draco sits down in front of her with his legs crossed before focusing on her straight long black hair with bangs blocking her head and later looking at her gray eyes, 'Father's description was accurate, she looks like a porcelain doll…'
Draco didn't mean it in a good way, Obelia's movements made her look lifeless, it made him feel like he was watching a ballerina dancing in a music box, untainted by the world.
"Sure whatever, just shut up for a few minutes," Obelia says, completely missing whatever Draco said.
"Great, I'll make sure to inform my father, you won't have to worry about bullies or becoming an outcast!" Draco pulls out a quill and writes at a very fast pace. He begins to recall what his father told him.
___
"Draco, this year some very important people are going to Hogwarts." His father, Lucius Malfoy says, speaking in a very faint voice to his son.
"I know father! Harry pottery!" Draco says, in a very enthusiastic voice. 'The boy who lived!'
"Him too, but more importantly, Obelia Wever." His father sits down on the leather couch and places Draco next to him. "Listen to me, son, that family creates artifacts out of thin air, it would be beneficial for you both to be friends." He whispers in a quiet voice, usually, he wouldn't have to ask his son for such a thing, but Wever's artifacts were one of a kind, and hard to get a hold of. "She will be joining Slytherin, so make sure to keep her company and get on her good side, protect her if you have to."
Draco thought for a second, that he'd heard about the Wever family because they were criminals, but not just that, they were strong as well, no wonder his father wanted him to get close to her.
"Understood Father, I won't disappoint!"
____
The Hogwarts Express slowly came to a stop, both Draco and Obelia had remained silent the entire time, but Obelia occasionally let out a humming tune and Draco seemed to find the cat Eno entertaining as he watched it run around.
Obelia finished the white snake with emerald eyes and kissed it, that was a sign she made up for her to know it was truly finished since she had a habit of adding and adding to it. She didn't want to end up having her fingers bleeding and making the handkerchief ugly again.
As both got up to leave Draco paused for a moment, "Can I… have that?" He pointed at the handkerchief she had just finished with wide eyes. Obelia thought for a moment before giving it to him, 'It would be bad to get on his bad side, I have hundreds of those at home.'
They both slowly got off the train and into the boats, however, they were joined by two others, named Goyle and Crabbe.
"Draco, I thought we were going to stick together?" Goyler said, sitting next to Crabbe. "Something came up," Draco said glancing at Obelia who was looking at the water, "let's talk later."
Draco then looked at the handkerchief, he realized it had a calming effect to it like he was in the middle of a meadow. 'Father told me she wasn't as good as her father and uncle, but this is amazing.'
"ENO!" Obelia quickly got up and grabbed the almost-falling cat, she grabbed the cat and placed it back in her lap. 'Why is it acting like this all of a sudden? He was calm on the train…'
Obelia looked around and noticed they had now entered a dark tunnel, and recalled something from her original world. 'I heard this is when they place a spell to figure out if you use magic and when, but how do they do it? Is it from the wand or do they just know?"
Obelia thought for a while before shaking the thought off, she could not remember many things from the book or movie, only small fragments could be remembered.
___
"Hogwarts…" Obelia said before looking at Eno, "This is where we will be staying for 7 whole years…" Obelia started to feel a sense of dread, school was still school, and magic wouldn't change that.
"Hogwarts is the top magic school in the UK, it's home to many famous scholars," Draco spoke in a very formal way, acting like a tour guide as they both walked together. "What house do you think you will be sorted in?" Draco asked turning around to face the girl who was looking around everywhere except forwards.
"I want to be in Hufflepuff, the badger is so cute, and the people are nice." Obelia looked at some students who she could tell would be in Hufflepuff and smiled, 'So cute!'
'Your whole family is a bunch of criminals how would you end up there?' Draco was about to speak up but thought of the repercussions and decided against it.
"Isn't that Harry Potter?" Obelia looked at Harry, Ron, and Hermione before turning back around to Draco. 'I remember this part so vividly.'
Draco turned to look at Harry Potter before turning back to look at Obelia, "Let's go together," he said before grabbing her cloak sleeve and walking to them.
"So the rumors are true, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts, my name is Draco, Draco Malfoy." Whispers could be heard behind them and Obelia watched, these would be the people who she would spend 7 years with. Obelia turned back to face Harry, Ron, and Hermione after hearing a chuckle coming from Ron.
"Think my names funny do you? Red hair and a hand-me-down robe, you must be a Weasley." Draco said, Obelia couldn't help but be surprised, she wasn't very good with names so the fact Draco could recognize people by what they wore without even meeting them was a talent.
"You will soon learn some wizard families are better than others, Potter. You don't want to go make friends with the wrong sort." Draco said, before turning around and looking at Obelia. "Let's go," Draco thought for a moment before grabbing Obelia's cloak sleeve once again and walking to Goyler and Crabbe.
'That's not exactly how it went, didn't he say something different?' Obelia thought for a moment before getting a painful headache, but a familiar voice caught her attention making her forget the pain.
"Follow me, children, it's time to get sorted into your houses." Obelia quickly turned to look at the woman who had just spoken, it was McGonagall. She slowly started to guide the children into the Great Hall and the room became silent, "it is now time to be sorted into your houses."
'What an iconic line! I'll accept anything except Gryffindor!… Add Slytherin in that sentence too.'
