Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Challenge Accepted! I Guess…
"You two! What are you lot doing here at a time like this?" Obelia turned around to see a large man speaking, and she managed to recognize him, it was Hagrid.
Obelia stood still for a moment, Draco was wearing his Slytherin uniform, but Obelia took her time changing into something more casual and was wearing black dress pants and a dark green shirt with embroidery on the hems.
'I would have acted like a Gryffindor if Draco wasn't here…. Probably would have gotten away with it too.' Obelia debated on whether to run or not but ultimately decided saving Draco was the best course of action.
Obelia slowly took out a small talisman and threw it on the ground, leaving both Draco and Hagrid stunned. The talisman contained a bright Lumos, blinding Hagrid and freeing Draco.
"Let's run, we can come up with a plan later," Obelia said before grabbing Draco and running out of the forbidden forest. Draco who was still struggling to run tripped a few times making Obelia pull him up.
"We…are going to need some help if we want to get out of this one…" Obelia said before making her way back into Hogwarts with Draco in hand.
___
"So.. let me get this straight. You went searching for Draco in the Forbidden Forest and while there you ran into Hagrid, and threw a lumos spell at him?" Snape asked, looking at the two students still not at their dorms and instead in his class late at night.
"Yes, it's quite unfortunate if you think about it." Obelia said nodding her head and sitting on a desk glancing at the tired Draco. "Why were you in the forbidden forest anyway?"
"Well I was looking for Harry Potter and I could have sworn I saw him walk into the forbidden forest alone, but when I went to follow him, he just vanished and I got stuck in Devil's Snare," Draco said, noticing how both Obelia and Snape were looking deep into his eyes, but he didn't avoid their gazes.
"… Somethings up," Obelia said, she knew Draco wasn't a complete idiot, and knew Harry wouldn't go into the forest alone. 'I don't remember any of this is the first movie, is this the same world? Why is everything changing so quickly?'
Obelia looked over to Snape who was shaking his head. "For now go to your dorms and don't cause any more trouble, I'll handle Hagrid."
"Yes, professor." Both Draco and Obelia said in unison and turned around making their way back to the dorm's common room.
'I guess there is a benefit to being a Slytherin.' Obelia thought before letting out a small smile.
___
"Hey, are you ok? You seem kind of out of it." Obelia said, before sitting down in the empty common room Slytherin and ushering Draco over.
"Speaking of which, why did you take off the ring I gave you? You know if Snape wasn't focused on finding out if you were telling the truth about the forbidden forest he could have figured out about our trip to the Diagon Alley." Obelia said taking out the glasses she had in her pocket and making them slowly disappear, moving them to her Diamond earring.
"Oh, I forgot legilimency searches every memory…" Draco said, still in a hazed state, pulling out the ring from his pocket and handing it to Obelia.
"… Well we can talk about this later, let's rest first," Obelia said noticing Draco's fatigue.
"Yeah,…good night."
"… Good night to you too Draco."
___
"Hi Draco, you're up early," Obelia said closing her book, she was currently in the common room sitting with Pansy and Daphne. She noticed how Draco still seemed a bit tired and had small eye bags.
"Let's all go get some Breakfast," Obelia said, noticing Goyler and Crabbe trail behind Draco.
___
"I can't help but feel like everyone is staring at us," Obelia said, slowly cutting into the pancakes served.
"Well after you announced the duel between Draco and Harry I doubt anyone wouldn't be curious," Pansy said glancing at the Gryffindor table and noticing all of them on edge. "They're plotting something."
"Well, whatever it is we can handle it, it's not like the duel is a fight to the death," Obelia said, noticing Draco side-eye her.
Suddenly both Obelia and Draco turned, hearing a loud noise behind them. "Draco Malfoy, I challenge you to a duel."
Both Obelia and Draco turned to look at Harry, and back at each other, now questioning what to do. They slowly turn to each other and start to whisper.
"What now? Do we accept?" Draco asked in a low voice, and Obelia bit her lip.
"But if we don't show up like planned it will look like we ran away," Obelia said in a low voice as well, staring to frowning.
"Well it's not like he's strong, my father said he grew up with muggles after the passing of his mother and father," Draco said still whispering next to Obelia.
"We could say, 'How dare you, you're not worthy of challenging him.' Or something." Obelia said noticing a lot of people start to stare at them.
"… but some might still think we are avoiding him," Draco said noticing Ron and Hermione approaching.
"Let's just take them on, how hard could it be?" Obelia said standing up and making eye contact with Harry before turning back to Draco.
"Challenge accepted, but it's only right for Draco to choose the location and time since you asked first," Obelia said with a knowing smile, completely making the rules up since she knew Harry wouldn't push for an exact location or time.
Harry turned to Ron and Hermione, and once they both nodded their head he turned back, to Obelia and Draco. "Deal."
Once Harry and the others walked away from the Slytherin table both Obelia and Draco turned to each other.
"Let's go, we need to make sure we win this," Obelia said, and Draco nodded in agreement. Neither of the two noticed the other Slytherin glancing at Griffindor's table with more hostility than usual.
___
"How dare they?!? Challenging us!?! Do those little Griffindors not know anything!?!?" One of the older Slytherin students said, and the group around them nodded.
"Those Griffindors need a lesson, clearly their seniors didn't teach them anything." Other said, and they all glanced at the Gryffindor table.
Obelia, Draco, Harry, Ron, and Hermione unknowingly had raised the quiet rivalry between the two houses into an all out war.
