Hiroki’s change

After grueling practice and preparation Hiroki's team was finally ready to play shutoku high though they were still nervous, they were facing shintaro midorima known as the best shooter in the country, even rivaling the highest of nba players

They still had 2 days before the game but were stressed about dealing with midorima.

Suddenly the coach came in saying " alright boys we're going to review some of shutoku high's games so pay close attention "

The tape started and it showed midorima shooting from half court for the first play of the game, seeing his calm expression only made the air in the room chillier ' i-is this really the level generation of miracles?' This very thought crossed the mind of everyone in the room for a second before being stunned again after seeing a full court shot go in smoothly

After the tape was done everyone was stuck in place, their faces pale, they couldn't even begin to comprehend what they had just witnessed

This was the final score the other team had been completely destroyed by one man... Shintaro midorima

Midorima had 63 points that game going for a crazy 15-16 from beyond the three-point line

something even pros would consider impossible, but he did it, midorima had done the impossible.

After the shock was over the team had a dark expression on their faces, they knew they didn't stand a chance as they were right now

So they trained .. they trained for hours straight until they collapsed from exhaustion but there were some that didn't stop even when in the verge of fainting those being Kira who would have to guard midorima, Shiro who simply only wanted to improve his game and surprisingly Hiroki who had started training extra after morning and afternoon practices

But this only made his teammates proud of him, proud because he was improving and because they considered him a dear friend by know. He was a kind boy who always tried his hardest to be better and to help people around him

He had unsurprisingly become one of the team's core members not only was he a good person, but he had talent, a vast amount of talent

Hiroki had improved so much in just 6 weeks of joining camp he could be considered the future of the basketball team after all, he was just a freshman

Just like that 2 days passed since the teams 'special' training had begun

Now it was time to prepare, in less than 2 hours they would play shutoku high

After the team was ready, they got in the bus went to the center of Tokyo where they would play against Shutoku

As they got out of the bus, they had black sweaters with the words " Aoba academy" this was the name of the school Hiroki would be attending this year along with his girlfriend Nao and best friend Ayumu

After entering the gym, they saw midorima holding a brown stuffed bear although confused at first, they don't put much thought into it as they had a much bigger problem to worry about

As they talked about the game plan a surprising change happened Hiroki was starting this game as the starting small forward

Then the line ups were called up

"For Aoba academy - Nendo- Kira- Hiroki- Shiro- Taiga-" " for Shutoku high - Takao- Midorima- Otsubo- Miyaji- Kimura"

This was just the introduction, but Aoba academy was already breaking in cold sweat from nerves and excitement to face one of the country's top players

As both teams' centers jumped for the tip off shutoku got the ball and was immediately in midorima's hands

Kira barely having time to react could only rush forward to try to distract midorima but it didn't work, midorima just calmly shot from half court

*swish*

Now Aoba academy knew this was real. This was the start to a long game.

By halftime the score was 27-68 surprisingly close bringing pride to Hiroki and his teamates

Tough it was short lived as after halftime the shutokus lead only widened ending the game 146 to 79

Marking the biggest blowout Aoba Academy had ever faced, post-game handshakes showed that it hadn't even been hard for midorima as he wasn't even sweating

The scores were midorima with 58 points but 14 rebounds along with 6 assists and takao with 16 points 12 assists and 4 steals

For Aoba it was a different as they're highest scorer was Shiro with 28 points, Taiga had 14 points an 15 rebounds marking a good night for him and Hiroki with 17 points and 6 assists but 2 turnovers. Although their stats were good they still weren't anywhere near enough to close the gap

After they got on the bus the team felt down they had just lost by 57 points an embarrassing amount

Even tought they played better than most other opponents it was still not satisfactory to lose

When they got back to camp they all took showers and Hiroki had the initiative to make dinner for the team feeling it would help with the tension in the air, luckily Shiro helped him out with dinner much too Hiroki's delight

After dinner everyone felt better and decided to watch a movie to get their minds off of the game marking their first practice match against shutoku high

Just like that another month passed by and it was almost time for school to start, the thought of going back annoyed everyone but still they also look foward to the fall tournament

During this time Hiroki and the team had grown closer after all the games they played together. they even started hanging out together as a team

Hiroki had changed a lot this summer growing 6 inches and gaining muscle not a lot but just enough to fit the aesthetic he had also grown his hair out looking more like Kise Ryouta but with green eyes and a slightly paler complexion
