Hikigaya's Inner World of Spring

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Yukinoshita's First Husband Delivery

After school.

The breeze swayed the curtains, and the sunset cast a warm glow into the classroom. Yukinoshita sat on the left side of the small wooden desk, quietly reading, as usual, in the Service Club.

However, while she appeared calm and collected on the surface, inside, she was restless.

The day was almost over.

Yet, she hadn't completed the system's new task.

At first, Yukinoshita had held onto some hope, thinking that perhaps Hachiman would unexpectedly have some form of physical contact with a girl—after all, something like accidentally bumping into someone while walking or brushing against someone while shopping was not uncommon.

But...

Yukinoshita had overestimated things.

Hachiman's self-defense mechanisms were far too strong.

By the end of the day, Hachiman hadn't touched a single girl.

While Yukinoshita felt a little relieved, she was also incredibly anxious. The original plan for an accidental contact was completely out the window. Now, she would have to think of another way to get him to interact physically with a girl.

And so, time dragged on until after school.

[Host, you can't even complete such a simple task? How disappointing, especially considering you're the smartest girl at Sobu High.]

"Shut up."

She was actually being mocked by the system!

Yukinoshita sighed internally. Hachiman would be coming to the Service Club soon, and this was her last chance.

"Sigh..."

Yukinoshita sighed again.

"Hachiman, how can your charm value be so low?"

As the system had mentioned, Hachiman's charm value was indeed terribly low.

A mere 39 points.

It was so low that Yukinoshita actually felt sorry for him.

He was the kind of person that even normal people would instinctively avoid.

After all, he had those dead fish eyes.

And then there was that antisocial aura...

Hmm, understandable.

Yukinoshita felt pity for him.

Charm value was determined by a person's overall vibe, personality, and appearance.

A maximum of 100 points.

Yukinoshita's charm value was 92 points, which was already terrifyingly high.

If it weren't for a significant deduction in one specific area, she would have been close to 95 points.

Once charm exceeds 95, it's almost indistinguishable from being a "charm demon"—even passing cats and dogs would want to get close.

"With a charm value this low, no wonder Hachiman looked so socially awkward the last time we went out. He looked like a complete shut-in. Sigh, his lack of confidence is worrying. I absolutely need to get that charm-enhancing potion."

Yukinoshita murmured to herself.

This wasn't about getting Hachiman to interact with other girls, no—she was doing this out of sympathy for his low charm value, worried that if he went out with her, others might mistake him for a servant, and that would only make him more self-conscious and possibly feel inferior.

Yes!

Exactly!

The goal of this task is to prevent Hachiman from becoming self-conscious, not to make him interact with other girls!

Yukinoshita kept reassuring herself, her eyes occasionally drifting toward the door.

He's so slow.

He's not going to skip out on this, is he?

Just as Yukinoshita was starting to get frustrated, the door suddenly creaked open.

Hmm?

Yukinoshita's eyes brightened, and she looked up—only to feel a pang of regret and complexity when she saw a pink-haired girl with a bun enter.

"Yahallo~ Yukino."

Yuigahama cheerfully greeted her, exuding an energetic vibe as she walked in.

"Yah...hallo." Yukinoshita quickly masked her momentary disappointment, gently lowering her book as she smiled and returned the greeting. "Good afternoon, Yuigahama."

"Yeah, yeah. Oh, by the way, is Hachiman not here yet?" Yuigahama said, walking over to the seat on Yukinoshita's right and pulling out a chair.

"Not yet."

"Oh, I see... By the way, Yukino, I got reassigned to a different class today."

And so, Yuigahama, ever the talkative one, began to vent about the class rearrangement, expressing her frustration that she didn't end up in the same class as many of her good friends.

As she spoke, Yuigahama sat down close to her.

Seeing this, Yukinoshita forced a smile, responding patiently without overtly resisting.

However, while talking with Yuigahama, Yukinoshita's eyes subtly darted to certain... areas of Yubihama's body.

Hmm... is it just my imagination?

It's been a while, but...

Yukinoshita silently lamented to herself.

On the outside, the two were chatting and laughing.

After a few minutes, the classroom door opened again.

This time, it was none other than Hachiman himself.

"Hachiman~ Yahallo~"

"Uh, yah... hallo..."

Hachiman gave a weak smile as he entered, wearing his school bag. He then instinctively walked to the farthest right side of the desk and pulled out a chair.

Meanwhile, Yukinoshita, ever the observant one, noticed that Hachiman seemed off today.

Something's strange.

Why does Hachiman seem so... deflated?

Although Yukinoshita was concerned, she couldn't help but feel a little mischievous. If Yuigahama weren't there, she would have definitely mocked him for his depressed demeanor.

"Good afternoon, Hachiman. You're already looking like a weakling on the first day of school. Don't go affecting the mood of the others around you."

"Y-You mind your business."

Hachiman gave a weak glare at Yukinoshita, replying faintly.

"Hey, Hachiman, are you okay?" Yuigahama, who noticed his pale complexion, immediately asked, full of concern. "You look really sick. Are you feeling alright?"

She moved closer to Hachiman, seeming intent on checking his condition.

Watching the two get closer, Yukinoshita's eyelid twitched. As his girlfriend, her instinct was to pull them apart.

But then...

An idea hit her.

Wait.

This is a perfect opportunity!

Yukinoshita quickly thought of a bold plan.

Hmm... No, that's too clumsy.

What if they notice?

But if I don't do this, what other choice do I have?

Yukinoshita gritted her teeth, and after what felt like an eternity of indecision, she decided to take the plunge.

I'm doing this so that Hachiman won't feel self-conscious in the future!

The charm-enhancing potion is necessary for poor Hachiman.

Besides, he's strict with himself!

Hmm, even if there's a little contact, with his level of self-control, it probably won't mean anything!

I have to believe in Hachiman!

After mentally preparing herself, Yukinoshita slowly moved closer to the two.

"Yuigahama, how is Hachiman doing?"

As she spoke, Yukinoshita subtly shifted her hand, intentionally nudging Yuigahama's body, pushing her toward Hachiman.

"Hachiman... wah!"

Yuigahama was about to speak, but before she could finish, she was unexpectedly shoved toward Hachiman, her body falling into his.

[Ding! Yuigahama Yui has been forcefully pushed into Hachiman's arms by the host. System points +10.]

[Ding! Newbie task completed. Reward: One charm-enhancing potion.]

Phew! Finally done.

As the task completed, Yukinoshita sighed in relief. But when she looked up, seeing Yuigahama blushing with a flustered expression, and Hachiman looking slightly embarrassed as well, she suddenly sensed something dangerous.

Wait!

This situation seems a bit off!
