"Level 20…" Yukio muttered, making a rough estimate of his capabilities.
"This should put me around the level of a Middle-Class."
With middle-class demonic power and Hell Fire—his strength likely rivaled that of an average Sacred Gear user.
Even if there was a small gap, it wouldn't be significant.
"Facing Raynare's group now shouldn't be too dangerous," Yukio pondered.
Raynare, one of the early antagonists, served as a formidable first boss of sorts.
Although she was a two-winged Fallen Angel, her strength shouldn't be underestimated.
Among Fallen Angels, her status was relatively high, and she commanded three other Fallen Angels.
Considering her portrayal in the anime, her power likely exceeded that of an average two-winged Fallen Angel.
Typically, a two-winged Fallen Angel's status and power were comparable to a Low-Class Devil.
However, Raynare likely possessed strength closer to that of a Middle-Class Devil, if not higher.
Fallen Angels retained the power of light, which was particularly lethal to devils.
These light-based attacks not only restrained devils but could also prove fatal.
"Fortunately, I don't need to worry about the power of light."
Despite using abilities copied from devils, he himself was still human.
Light-based attacks were specifically dangerous to devils, not humans.
Against him, the power of light was no more threatening than any other sharp weapon.
"Well then, let's head to the church and see what happens," Yukio suppressed the demonic power circulating within him, and left the hotel room.
After taking a taxi, Yukio instructed the driver to head toward the church in the suburbs.
"I can only take you this far," the driver said after about fifteen minutes. "There's a mountain path ahead, and I can't drive through it."
"That's fine," Yukio replied.
"The church up there has been abandoned for years. What's your business there?" the driver asked, his curiosity piqued.
"I'm traveling and checking in at various spots," Yukio answered casually while paying the fare.
"It's not a good place. I've heard stories about strange happenings there. If you're just sightseeing, I can recommend better locations," the driver offered helpfully.
"A relative of mine is a believer," Yukio replied, fabricating a plausible excuse. "If I come to Kuoh Town and don't visit the church, they'd never let me go."
"Do you want me to wait for you? It's not easy to get a taxi in this area," the driver suggested.
"Wait for me for half an hour. If I'm not back by then, feel free to leave," Yukio handed over some extra yen for the wait.
The driver agreed without hesitation.
Yukio stepped out and began walking along the mountain path.
The road was covered in dust and leaves, clearly neglected and untouched for years.
After about ten minutes, he arrived at the church's front door.
"Hm?" Yukio paused.
The space around the church was unexpectedly clean, as though someone had recently tended to it.
"The area around the church is neat… Someone must be here," Yukio narrowed his eyes in caution.
The path leading up was filthy, yet the church itself was spotless.
There were no cobwebs or signs of decay inside.
It was obvious someone had visited recently, likely using magic to maintain the place.
This ruled out the possibility of it being Freed Sellzen.
A human like Freed would have left traces along the mountain path.
The only logical explanation was that Fallen Angels were responsible.
With this in mind, Yukio pushed open the church doors and stepped inside.
He wanted to see if he could encounter any Fallen Angels.
"No one?" Yukio glanced at the empty hall.
At the far end stood a statue, flanked by rows of pews.
Aside from that, the church appeared typical.
Inside, everything was immaculate—no dust on the benches, no debris.
It further confirmed that someone had been maintaining the place.
"I'll wait and see," Yukio decided.
With time to spare and no immediate obligations, he chose to wait.
If the Fallen Angels or anyone else—showed up, it would make the trip worthwhile.
