Chapter 4: Chapter 3, Part 2 - An Encounter
Kuoh town –
POV: Hiyama –
Quickly turning around, I intend to head towards the middle of town, but I am met by Mittelt standing right in front of me. Glancing over my shoulders, there was no one there anymore. Magic…
"It's an interesting trick I learned when hunting~" she said with barely contained joy as she tried to sound sweet.
My breathing begins to quicken as she smiles wider. "Please-" I manage to say.
"Hmmm, let me think…" She places her hand on my chest as I have essentially frozen in place. "I could just erase your memory and let you go…" She exclaimed in mock consideration. "But what fun would that be?"
The moment she finished the sentence I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. Looking down a hole was in my stomach the size of a bowling ball… I try to scream but my voice fails me. I try to use Logos Reverie, but my words are choked out by blood spilling from my mouth. I am so tired…
Falling on my back my vision blurs as I see the vague outline of Mittelt leaning over top of me. In that moment I have nothing I can do. I got too scared to even try my sacred gear and now I couldn't use it at all… I am going to die-
No… not yet I just need to say a single word. My lungs aren't destroyed so I should still have at least one word left in me.
"He-ack" I choke on the word. "ack-" I try again.
Seeing me struggling to speak Mittelt, leans closer saying "What was that? I can't hear you." Until she leans all the way down to put her ear to my mouth.
"Heal…" I mustered, sounding like a dozen raspy whispers. In that moment I felt nearly all my energy leave my body, but I felt my stomach stitching itself back together in an instant.
In utter shock at what's happening Mittelt drops high in the air while summoning her light spear to finish her opponent, but it was too late. With my renewed faculties I shouted at the top of my lungs, "Blast away!"
As if a hidden force slammed into the fallen, she went flying backwards crashing into someone's yard. Quickly recovering, I saw to my absolute horror that the somewhat cute loli now sported six eyes and fangs. Though bleeding from her head and likely bruised beneath her clothing, she threw a light spear before immediately summoning another and throwing it too before I had a chance to react.
Instead of dodging I say, "Disperse…" causing the first light spear to dissolve into particles of light. While I attempt to dodge the second only for it to graze my arm.
"What is going on?!" she shrieked. "I know that power anywhere. That is father's voice! Who are you?!" As she took another spear and launched it with renewed vigor while rushing towards me. I barely sidestep the spear and prepare to meet her as she charges at me with a new spear. Thinking I committed to a close quarter engagement, Mittelt smiled.
"I've got you now!"
But as she raised her spear to slam down on me, I whisper "Disperse" again, causing the spear to disappear and her to be carried by momentum to the ground. Waving away the growing sense of tiredness I push through saying, "A blade shall pierce my enemy." As a blade rises from the Earth piercing Mittelt in the stomach and out her back getting her stuck for a moment. Taking advantage, I began to stomp on her head.
Over and over again. I stomp even as I see blood gushing out, even when I notice a dent in her skull I keep stomping.
"Plea-" She tried to get words out. I stopped for a moment at the plea. "Please papa, I promise I'll be good. I don't want to be sent away…" hearing her pleas I relented for a moment to think. She seems to be in shock and has forgotten where she is. I should kill her; it would be the best. She has seen my face and that could endanger Shiori, but no matter how hard I tried to keep going, I couldn't.
I don't know if it's because I never killed someone before or if Logos Reverie is affecting me, after all it is supposed to give me an ability like the voice of God. Maybe there was some connection between me and the God of the Bible from this world. She was clearly referring to God when calling on her papa. Besides, I need information and she is all I've got right now.
I don't have time to sit and think, I need to clear out of here.
So, instead I say "Mittelt shall going into a healing stasis." Seeing her lose consciousness right after I go to pick her up, but I am overwhelmed by tiredness and nearly fall. It seems I overworked myself. Pushing through the tiredness I managed to pick her up and begin the track slowly back to my home, taking off my shoes and using my shirt to make sure no blood trail was left behind.

Kuoh town, Hiyama's house –
POV: Hiyama –
When I get back to the house I quickly enter making sure Shiori is still asleep and head to the basement. Placing Mittelt on the long coffee table in front of the couch, I began to think about what to do. I'll have to stay awake so I can create restraints for Mittelt once I regain my magical power. I shouldn't have brought her here, she could possibly lead the other fallen to my house. Considering how much trouble I had with her, I definitely can't beat Raynare who is stronger, not to mention there are two others.
I should be able to keep Shiori out of the basement for the foreseeable future, she doesn't like coming down here anyway. She claimed it smelled moldy despite me taking pretty good care of the space. It might just be a girl thing… The only reason she would come down here is to do laundry but I can always just do it for her. Not too mention I can use my powers to make it so only I can get the door unlocked.
For now, I run upstairs to quickly take a shower and change clothes into something less bloody and try my best to clean the blood off. Mittelt isn't anywhere near healed so she shouldn't wake up any time soon.
Once clean. I head downstairs again to wait for my magic power to return. While in the shower I had an idea to use my power to create an addition to the basement that only I could access but I would need to be rested. Setting an alarm on my phone for an hour. I get a little shuteye in hopes to recover my reserves a bit faster.
-------------------------------------------------
Waking up to the sound of the alarm I immediately got to work. I don't have all my magical power reserves back, but it will have to do. The room is designed to be more rectangular in shape where the stairs lead to one side of the room where there is a small table and the A/C unit. Then the couch separates that part of the room from the center where a tv, a coffee table, and another couch are placed. Then on the far side of the room there is a corner of bookshelves behind the tv set and a door to the laundry room.
Heading to the far side of the room near the bookshelves, they are placed in the shape of a 'U' with the base of the 'U' up against the wall. Picking that bookshelf, I prepare to use my power. "This bookshelf shall be a secret entrance to a room with restraints capable of holding Mittelt." I feel all my remaining reserves are used up, but the bookshelf has a book act as a lever that leads to another room with metal chains of an unknown material.
Placing Mittelt inside and locking her up was a struggle but I managed. Then I close it and head up to my room to sleep.

A/N: So what do you guys think? Before anyone gets their panties in a twist, yes bringing Mittelt home was a dumb and impulsive decision. And yes, there is a reason for it. Any constructive criticism is welcome. Also, be sure to leave a review and power stones as that is my motivation.
