Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Dragonstone
The sounds of waves gently tapping the boat soothed my mind, the chirping of birds passing overhead only seemed to add a small melody to this peaceful time.
Six days had passed since I left Pentos, and no signs of other human life had been found.
'It's not quite boring being alone, I used to think I was used to it, but even those White Zetsus had somewhat kept me company. Being alone again is tiring.'
Standing up from my comfortable lying position, I looked ahead again. I have done this almost every hour with no luck, but this time, a small silhouette on the horizon caught my eye.
Squinting my eyes slightly, the sails of the opposite ship tell me they are not friendly.
I noticed the direction they were going was right towards my boat.
Realizing this I roll my neck, and while my arms and legs stretch, a bone-popping sound comes to my ears.
Being stuck on this small raft, my body naturally became a little rusted.
After a certain time, the opposing ship crew could be distinguished. They were rough-looking, with bandanas tied either on their foreheads or around their shoulders. The obvious cutlass on their waist and unkept appearance told me who they were.
Our two boats started to drift past each other. I would have thought they had ignored me, if not for some of them licking their lips and their eyes exposing their intentions.
"We have been sailing for three days, my blade is thirsty for blood, I don't care if it's a child." a man with an obvious scar running down his cheek said.
"Captain said to make it quick, our destination is Meereen, he doesn't want to be late."
"Look he is so scared he can't even move."
The three pirates talked amongst themselves, feeling the raft I was on sinking a little bit more from the weight of the three of them boarding, my gaze followed them calmly.
No more words were spoken between the three, as I watched the one with a scar on his face, full of muscles, stomp up to me, unsheathing his cutlass and swinging to end my life.
This swing was very slow, as I easily dodged, this type of fodder was no longer something that could threaten me anymore.
I only allowed this rabble to even get on this tiny ship because it's time to change to a bigger one. Looking at the ship they came on and the crew, arriving at Westeros will be a breeze and comfortable.
The look of shock after I dodged the first swing, and then the next one made the three on the boat realize something, but before they could react, I had already started to move towards their boat.
Like walking in the garden back at Pentos, each passing step left one more dead body, falling into the sea to sink forever.
Leaping onto the pirate boat, my arrival stunned around thirty other people on the deck, as they were either moving things around or just talking to each other, the same stunned expression was left on them.
I didn't bother talking and started to kill, these men are all scum, I never cared if there may be innocents here as well, and I didn't need many people to help me sail.
"Ah help, he's a monster!"
"He killed the Captain's Son!"
The killing kept unfolding, My sharingan followed each movement of theirs, getting close with a single swipe ending a life.
The repetition only instilled more fear into their hearts as they went from the initial resistance to running and even jumping overboard.
The screams were slowly dwindling, but a loud shout came from behind me.
"Who killed my SON?!" a bloated figure came out, with pink cheeks, and a red nose. Wearing a fashionable tunic with brown pants. His shoes were polished and shined, a polar opposite of his crew.
He was followed by an evil scrawny-looking individual.
Seeing his son dead next to me, he raised his arms pointing at me.
"Kill him and I will give you a hundred golden dragons!" The shrill voice with his heavy breathing felt like I was attacked by the Mount Myoboku Toad Demonic Illusion: Toad Chant.
'Genjutsu: Sharingan'
"Shut up." Picking my ears, the sound finally came to a halt.
The lanky man next to him stepped back quickly and looked at me with fear.
"Are you a warlock from Qarth?" His raspody voice mixed with a lisp.
I just ignored him, but he seemed to have deemed it as me agreeing as he stepped back even more, he started to slowly make movement to grab his dagger on his thigh, but never fully pulled it out.
'Pathetic.'
Looking at this trembling fat captain of this boat, I undo the Genjustu. I see him fall in horror and mumbles incoherently. Eventually, he caught his composure looking up at me in fear.
"I-I work for Salladhor Saan. Yo- You can't do this." The pirate captain trembled, I could tell he was clearly just a scapegoat, maybe this crew of his was built off his intelligence to make money, not his strength.
I look towards the scrawny man from earlier, he just nods, I can see a hope that I would be afraid of this Salladhor Saan.
Getting an acknowledgement, I ponder for a bit then demand.
"With the remaining people take me to the closest Westerosi landing point." Clear and concise words leave my mouth, I just want to get this over with.
Without even waiting for a response, I start walking into the captain's quarters behind him to wait.
"You heard him, set sail!" A muffled shout came after I closed the door...
**********
We had been sailing fine for the past two weeks, I never got along with anyone or talked to them, but they still brought me food on time.
I knew we were heading towards Westeros based on the compass I brought with me, I just didn't know where I would land.
The sound of shouting came from the deck alerting my attention.
Getting up and walking out of the captain's quarters I first noticed the weather conditions, I could clearly see the sun high in the sky, but there was a fog here that was quite light and heavy, it was thick on the sea level, but the higher up the lighter it was.
Peering through this small fog, I see the lanky man who asked me if I was a warlock before.
He was shaking the fat captain, who I could tell had deep resentment towards me, especially since I killed his son, but I never had any pity. What these people do... killing his son was a mercy.
"Hahah! That Demon will surely die! He can't defeat the entire Royal Fleet of the Seven Kingdoms! He took everything from me and you helped, so I will make sure you and everyone die with him."
"Ah, you fucking cunt, bitch, ass, motherfucker-." He opened his sailor's mouth and spouted everything he could then pulled out his dagger on his thigh and stabbed his captain into the belly.
"AHHHH" the shrill scream once again came, and on this quiet sea. It was really loud.
"Starboard! Starboard!" My head turned to the crows' nest, then to starboard.
The fog didn't stop me from seeing forty ships plowing their way through the waves.
I could see based on their formation, the key to breaking this situation would be. I didn't want any altercations with the Royal Fleet of Seven Kingdoms at this time before my plan even began.
Looking at the panicking pirates, I simply turned and left.
Jumping off the ship and applying magic to my feet, running on the water towards the Royal Fleet.
Under the cover of fog and doing something in this world that was deemed impossible I easily climbed aboard the most central ship.
Avoiding the moving people and slowly and quietly appearing in the command room.
Five distinguished people stood around a table talking to each other.
"Lord Stannis, we followed the SoS fire signal from the fog, and it turned out to be pirates. We are now about to launch an attack. They are all panicking and this fight should end with almost zero casualties." a rough-looking war-hardened sailor spoke.
"Lord Stannis, I don't agree with killing these pirates, we have some trades from other noble lords from the reach that go through this route, killing them will only anger the pirates, and in the end, we will get the backlash." Another older man quickly interrupted, his words were quick compared to his age.
"I will not care about the lords of some damn reach. We are a royal fleet that protects the Seven Kingdoms, Pirates are now within our waters, right outside Dragonstone. Do you want them to take your children or family near us first before we take action?
I will hear no more. Ser Rolyn go ahead with your idea. The meeting is adjourned." Stannis spoke with authority. No one went against his decision, bowed lightly and left.
Ser Rolyn looked happy about his suggestion being implemented.
Before leaving the room, I heard the old frail-looking man mumble.
"Someone else needs to take charge, I'm sorry little Mace, your uncle can't help you now."
Looking at Stannis's expression which showed no emotion, unsure if he heard it at all. Instead, he lowered his head and started to write down something.
Turning my gaze to the exact timing as the door closed, I landed matching the sound.
Seeing that Stannis did not notice me at all I was a little amused.
"Stannis Baratheon, the brother of Robert Baratheon..." Breaking the silence I speak the words planned.
"Who are you?" he replied wearily and startled, he quickly jumped backwards and grabbed his sheathed sword on the side.
"I am Madara Uchiha, I am here to join the tournament."
"Children shouldn't be here, I will-"
The moment he made eye contact I put him under my illusion. Then a second I undid it, failing to hold onto anything, Stannis fell over, sweat was dripping down his face with a look of fear. I saw him clenching his neck heavily.
"What did you do!" He roared like an angry lion.
"I used a technique of mine to show your greatest fear, I am a Ninja from Essos."
"Fear?! That was not just fear that was something else..."
No one spoke, only Stannis's heavy breathing was heard until it gradually calmed down.
Perhaps seeing I wasn't killing him, he seemed to remember what I mentioned before, and asked, "Ninja?"
Seeing his confusion I realized ninjas didn't exist here, I had to explain in a roundabout way.
"We are better and stronger than the faceless ones you would know about... We were what you would send to hunt down a faceless one." The cold and affirming voice made my performance all the more reasonable.
Stannis seemed to feel this and looked at me in shock and then I could see a change in his attitude.
"So why did you come to me?" Stannis now stood up from the ground and patted any dust that may have lingered on him off, as he moved towards his chair and sat down, even offering me a seat next to him.
I accepted, sitting down casually I responded,
"I have come to rebuild the glory of my Uchiha Clan. I know of your Westerosi rules about knightship and land ownership...
Originally I planned to go alone, but then I encountered those pirates your fleet attacked. I used them as a means of transportation to arrive in Westeros, now I am here...
After seeing you and understanding your position from my knowledge, I thought it would be better to show myself and to show you a little bit of my ability, otherwise, you would never take me seriously." Insinuating the last words, as I look at my childish appearance with the voice.
'Even It would be hard for me to take a brat seriously, let alone others.'
"I want you to take me to the tournament, you would definitely be there and that would save me time." I calmly close my eyes leaving this last sentence.
A few moments later the rhythmic tapping of Stannis fingers continued.
I await his answer, although there is only one right answer.
My eyes slowly open and I stare at Stannis.
'Don't let me down.'
"My family is hosting the tournament, Baratheon I mean.
So I will indeed attend this tournament although I very much wish I didn't...
However, I need more resources from other houses and need to negotiate with them, so I was reluctantly planning on going.
I can let you follow me and my family when we go, but..." followed by a slight pause he seemed a little contemplative, but I could see a hint of greed in his eyes.
"Can you fight under my family name?"
This brought me a little surprise, I originally wanted to fight under my name, but then I thought a little more, and wanted to hear his reasoning first.
"Why?"
"If you fight under my family name as a fighter, it will give you a better chance to become knighted like you want.
Although you would have a higher chance to become knights after winning the tournament, which I do not believe you couldn't if you use the abilities you already showed me...
But, someone from Essos may not be. As this tournament is more for existing houses to try to gain more power from recruiting or setting up their champions under heavy resources."
Stannis observed my expression, but I never showed anything, still the same blank face.
'This does sound a bit better.'
"Using my family, I can also have you meet my brother Robert, and talk about what you want, if he is aware of your real abilities he may agree right to the ownership of land even without a knightship, only... this may be for some favours." He stopped
"Yes?" I asked to let him finish what he wanted to continue saying.
"Although it seems unfair to you to give favours, it's the quickest way to legally own the land you want.
I don't doubt you can defeat many, but can your people you want in the future?
This is not a threat but a historical fact, the other houses won't take kindly to an outsider forcibly coming here." Finally, he finished speaking and stood up to get some wine, pouring a glass for himself before sitting down again.
'Initially, I wanted to fight under Uchiha's name and spread it, but it would make no difference if I won. If I go with Stannis's idea then getting to my goal and plan more efficiently and quicker would be easier. As for the favours... I will deal with that when I meet Robert Baratheon.' I already knew the answer.
"Yes, I can fight in your family name, but I must get my titles and ownership of land." I left no room for questioning this statement.
I prevent myself time and time again from tossing this entire world.
But I also know I am not invincible yet. My eyes subtly look towards the sky.
"Then happy cooperation." Stannis stood up and held out his hand, I looked at it, and then slowly shook his hand.
'I am now one step closer to my goal.'
"You can stay here, no one else will come back. After destroying those pirates we will sail back to Dragonstone, we are a short distance away, probably a couple of hours.
We will still be at Dragonstone for a couple of weeks before leaving for the tournament location."
Hearing this I just nod and accept it.
It feels good being a guest somewhere else, I don't need to worry too much about my safety at this moment.
With Kamui and my own reaction time, unless I drink poison... sneak attacks would never succeed.
'Poison, a classic Ninja assassination fundamentals class. My old body had insanely high resistances, and after I got Hashirama's cells poison no longer affected me. But now... I just need to be more careful.'

< Stannis Baratheon POV >
Stepping outside the command room, the shouts of my soldiers attended to their posts as two ships boarded the pirate ship and fighting ensued.
The fresh foggy air on the deck brought me a real sense of comfort I never knew I needed.
'That sense of fear, and what I saw...' a silent tear slid down my cheek.
I could only watch, watching as my wife hung herself, and my daughter was burnt alive.
Other things were blurry, but the cries were from my daughter begging and my wife crying bitterly in my arms. Or what I thought were my arms, the body looked a lot older, but the face was blurred, as if clouded by a burning fire and smoke.
After the 20th cycle, I had already felt numb, I thought I wouldn't feel much more, but I was wrong, my mind and body seemed to also go back into that cycle, and I would feel it all over again.
Around the hundredth cycle, the world suddenly started to burn as I heard a feint mumble the words choppily but concisely. Barely keeping my sanity, I saw in front of me, was of a shadow of myself, but the voice of a woman. I heard.
"Kingsguard to Renly Baratheon....In... of... Renly House Baratheon, I.... Sentence you to die."
After hearing that, a slicing pain came from my neck as the knife tore into my arteries in slow motion, then followed by a burning sensation I woke up.
Same command room and the same boy I was questioning.
My mind could only speak, but my voice that came out was choked by the realism of what I just went through, all together my emotions made me roar...
Now I am here.
Thinking back to it now I have new thoughts on those last words I heard.
'Kingsguard to Renly, and why would he want to kill me? Will something happen to my brother or a coupe? Or was this just his ability to sow discord? Too many questions and such little answers. It all felt very real. I need more time to think alone.' Unsure what questions to believe or not, but I already started to guard against Renly.
Looking at this huge number of soldiers at my command, I didn't think of calling them to attack Madara.
Him being able to sneak in already made me believe his statement about hunting the faceless ones, this is enough for me to know messing up would only get me killed.
He also needs help, even if it's a small help getting his favour would only benefit me in the future.
The fog and wind brushing against my face seemed to reawaken me.
The time this breather wasn't long, but it wasn't short either.
Looking at the outcome of those pirates, I sternly shout to the surrounding sailors. "Go back."
Hearing my command, the captains in control of the other ships started barking orders as well, in this fog-covered weather only voices could be heard.
"Turn the sails"
"We go back to Dragonstone!"
Feeling the movement of the boat slowly turning, I think of those images I saw again.
'Shireen... I don't know if what I saw was real, but I would never let you die such a horrific death. I am sorry for my future self. And my dear Selyse, I am sorry you had to watch our daughter die and then follow her too. I will make it up to you now.'
My heart steadily became firm, I was not gonna let whatever I saw come true. I don't know what would have driven my future self to do that, and Renly... I hope this wasn't your doing.
Looking back towards the command room where Madara is, I just decide to continue to feel the sea breeze as we sail ever closer back home.

< Madara POV >
Sitting here alone, and thinking of what Stannis meant by it was more than fear, I only now noticed a slight difference that I subconsciously ignored, the illusion I constructed on Stannis at that moment was full of something new, something was intervening, but I don't know what.
I know everything I did was correct, I wanted to show him his fears, which he did. But what I saw from it felt like another illusion on myself.
'This could be just a side effect of this new magic power intervening, or maybe something greater.'
I don't feel anything wrong with myself, so it was just something to note, and keep attention to.
I had done earlier illusions but this hadn't happened before.
I guess some gods may be intervening subtly, but since It never affected anything besides what they saw.
I don't believe whatever is shown will be detrimental to me, I am strong enough to defeat all conspiracies unless they blatantly intervene physically, anyone they send will just be adding another dead body.
The door was pushed open interrupting my thoughts, and I saw Stannis walk in,
"We have arrived back at Dragonstone. I will introduce you to my family, my daughter is about half your age, but she is very smart." I could see a small smile appear on the corner of his mouth.
Nodding, I stood up and walked past him to see that the boat was now docking and a vast castle shaped like a dragon, long and fortified appeared in front of me.
"What a domineering sight." Letting out a sigh of appreciation.
"Welcome to Westeros Madara Uchiha. This is an ancient legacy of the Targaryen Dynas-"
"I already know the knowledge here, you don't need to tell me, let's go meet your family. I will be staying here for a bit, so I will need to get familiar."
"Good, let's go then." Stannis after waiting for the docking process got off with me.
Whispers were heard as we walked, and even the term Bastard came up a lot.
I felt a little speechless, although we both had black hair, I did not look anything near what Stannis looked like, just because I am a child they make such outrageous accusations.
This only showed me how gossip-loving these commoner folks were, no wonder public opinion was easily swayed in my old world.
Getting closer to the actual gates to the castle, a quick short shadow rushed towards Stannis.
"Father!" the voice of a child came to my ears.
"Shireen." I could see a smile appear on Stannis's usually taciturn face, this also seemed to surprise the woman who came trotting over, as her hands held onto her long skirt to stop herself from tripping over it.
"Stannis, I am sorry about Shireen, she saw the boats and ran out here I wil-"
"No, Selyse it's okay. Today I just want to spend time with my daughter." A soft tone came out of his voice.
"...Dear, who is this." Her voice which was originally sweet slowly turned bitter.
"... is he... a...bas-"
"No my Dear, he is a Ninja. A profes- never mind, just know that he is not mine, and he will be staying with us for the time being, and travelling with us to the tournament my brother is hosting."
"Robert is the King, in the presence of outsiders you should still say it properly." She said in a serious tone.
Hearing these words I didn't feel much, I was more interested in the little girl holding onto Stannis, half her face had been scared, and the healing process looked recent.
"She had contracted Greyscale." Stannis noticed my gaze and calmly stated.
"Two years ago when she was three, I had brought her a doll from Dorne, It was a new craftsman that people talked about... I didn't know bringing it would lead to me almost losing my daughter." He said with some sadness, and even Shireen showed sadness.
"I was told it was too late, and she would die. But I didn't believe it, I brought in every healer, maester, and anyone who claimed they could try. Finally, it succeeded, now she periodically needs to be checked to prevent it for good."
"I have learned of Greyscale myself, it's a terrible disease, it is incredible that your daughter survived it." I was surprised to hear about this, all known cases lead to death. This was a good father.
Seeing the two looked from both Shireen and Selyse I spoke,
"I am Madara Uchiha, I will be staying here for a bit of time."
"You are gonna live here? Wow! Can I show you my books?" Shireen was the first to come to excitement and ask, even squirming out of her father's hands to look to get up close to me.
My lips twitch.
'What does this Brat want me to do' I was baffled, I was only used to Dany doing something like this. Maybe this could have been Dany's childhood if there was no war.
I wouldn't blame everything on that Rebellion, only my thoughts on that Lannister house are more prejudiced.
Stannis just looked at me and didn't say anything, while Selyse looked concerned about my intentions.
'I wasn't the one who initiated. Why do you look at me like this...' I felt a weird feeling but soon returned to my cold appearance.
"No, I will be spending my own time waiting." With those words, I step forward under the gazes of the three into the castle.
Behind me, I heard Stannis say to a soldier
"Find him a room."
