Kallen, standing nearby, fired her Tranquil Rhapsody with a swift motion. The purple glow flashed, and the giant head of the Honkai Beast above Yae Sakura... instantly exploded.

Hearing Kallen's worried tone, Yae Sakura looked up at the beautiful woman standing before her, realizing she owed Kallen's life to her yet again.

"Are you alright, Sis? That was so dangerous! If Kallen hadn't intervened, things might've been terrible for you." Yae Rin approached her sister, her face filled with concern.

Just moments ago, Yae Rin had been so scared her heart felt like it would jump out of her chest.

"Kallen-nee, Rin... am I really useless? I don't seem to do anything right..." Yae Sakura chided herself, feeling disheartened.

"What kind of thought is that? Sakura, you're incredibly strong! Our home stands today because of you and your efforts. Whether it's cooking, sewing, or managing our chores, you do everything brilliantly.

If someone like you isn't considered capable, then there'd be no one deemed worthy in this world."

"Besides, I've said it before - Honkai Beasts were still too much for you to handle at your current level. In a few more years... you'll easily overpower them."

Seeing Yae Sakura's self-doubt, Kallen walked over, reaching out with a comforting embrace.

"Kallen, what's that?" Yae Sakura and Yae Rin stood beside Kallen, curiosity blooming as they observed the object she had extracted from the Honkai Beast's carcass.

"This is a shard of Honkai Crystal, a crystallization of Honkai energy. It's this that transformed the creature into a Honkai Beast."

Kallen opened her right hand, causing Honkai fragments to float in her palm. They appeared incredibly beautiful, but this beauty concealed their brutal nature.

These fragments... were symbolic of Honkai itself.

However... Kallen suddenly realized that at this point in time... the already corrupted Schicksal must be conducting even more horrifying and evil human experiments than Lord Otto, due to their war defeat and access to the Honkai Source.

While Lord Otto only used clone bodies for his experiments, with hundreds dying in each trial— all of them clones—the Schicksal of this era had yet to master cloning technology. Faced with the ongoing war and the plague sweeping across Europe, these crazed individuals would resort to using infected people, war captives, and even... civilians in their ruthless experiments.

One by one, living humans were directly transformed into monsters through their use of Honkai energy.

Some of those madmen even intended to use these monsters to fight against the legendary... the One True God.
