Chapter 1: chapter 1
In the middle of the vast, endless ocean, where the waters were eerily calm, a girl with long, flowing blue hair floated motionlessly on the surface. Her presence was strange and otherworldly, as if the sea itself bowed in reverence, leaving her untouched by its waves. No creature dared to approach; the waters were devoid of life, and the air hung heavy with a mysterious energy.
The girl wore a gown that shimmered like the sea under sunlight, its hues ranging from the deepest indigo to the softest azure. The fabric flowed like waves, intricate patterns adorning it—symbols of an ancient, forgotten language etched in silver and gold. Thin, translucent veils extended from her shoulders and arms, their ends dancing like ethereal ribbons in the breeze. Her outfit was adorned with ornate golden accents: delicate clasps at her collar, intricate cuffs, and a crown-like diadem resting on her forehead, with a single jewel that reflected the light of the sky. She looked like she belonged to the ocean itself, as though it were her realm, her domain.
The stillness around her was unnatural, unsettling. It wasn't simply that creatures had chosen to stay away; it was as though her presence make them stay away.
The girl floated silently on the surface of the endless ocean, her serene form disturbed only by the faint furrow of her brow. Slowly, she opened her eyes, and the world around her came into focus. The first thing that greeted her was the brilliance of the sunlight above, its rays shimmering against the vast blue sky. Yet, strangely, the light didn't blind her. Unlike most, she didn't need to shield her eyes.
Expressionless, she glanced around, taking in the stillness of her surroundings. There was nothing—no land, no creatures, just the endless expanse of water stretching as far as her gaze could reach. Her voice, soft yet steady, broke the silence. "Where am I?" she murmured, her tone devoid of emotion yet laced with curiosity.
She noticed the water beneath her. It surrounded her in every direction, yet something about it felt… off. Her clothes and hair were untouched by moisture, as if the water refused to cling to her. She slowly rose to her feet, standing effortlessly on the surface, the liquid below rippling slightly under her bare feet.
Her face remained impassive, but her mind buzzed with confusion. "What happened here?" The question repeated itself, yet all that escaped her lips was a faint, almost absent, "Oh."
In her mind, however, the confusion grew. "I was just about to start the Honkai Impact 3rd event…" she thought, her mental voice tinged with disbelief. "I needed that free HoH! But then… why am I suddenly here? And how am I standing on the water like this?"
The sheer absurdity of her situation was overwhelming, but outwardly, she showed no sign of panic. Her calm exterior belied the chaotic storm of questions swirling in her mind. She took a tentative step forward, her movements fluid and steady despite the impossibility of her footing. The water beneath her didn't sink, didn't splash—it simply supported her as though it were solid ground.
She stood still again, staring out at the endless horizon. The silence pressed on her, a strange, almost oppressive quiet that seemed to demand answers. But none came. The girl sighed softly, her expression unchanging, her thoughts a whirlwind of disbelief and uncertainty.
The girl glanced down, catching sight of her reflection in the still water below. Her eyes narrowed slightly at what she saw.
"?"
Her mind raced. "A girl... wait, this reflection… this outfit… it's familiar."
Her lips moved on their own as a name escaped them. "Jyahnar."
The name lingered in the air, echoing faintly across the empty ocean. In her mind, confusion deepened. "Jyahnar… Jyahnar from Honkai Gakuen 2? But… I was a guy before… wasn't I?"
Her brows furrowed as she shook her head slowly, trying to clear her thoughts. She wasn't sure if this was a dream, a hallucination, or something far stranger. Just as she steadied herself, something caught her attention—a faint glimmer in the corner of her vision. It was like a translucent screen hovering just at the edge of her sight.
"?"
She focused on it, and a small panel materialized before her eyes.
[Name: Jyahnar (2%)
Honkai Energy >3997HW/4000HW<
Summoning (click)]
Her expression remained neutral, but one eyebrow raised slightly in curiosity. She tilted her head, observing the panel as if it might vanish at any moment.
"This system is so simple…" she murmured, her voice calm yet filled with quiet intrigue.
The familiarity of the interface struck her. "It's like a game menu… but it feels so real. Am I inside a game? Did I… become Jyahnar?" She reached out hesitantly, her finger hovering near the "Summoning" option, unsure of what might happen if she clicked it.
Jyahnar hesitated for a moment before clicking the "Summoning" option. The panel flickered, and a new menu appeared before her eyes.
[Creation of Honkai Beast:
- Emperor-Class
- Templar-Class
- Chariot-Class
- Knight-Class
- Seraph-Class
- Other]
Her brow furrowed slightly. "It's not gacha? It's… creation?" This wasn't just some random summon; it was a system for crafting. Curiosity sparked within her, and she selected "Other."
Another panel appeared:
[Please input Honkai Energy.]
Jyahnar raised an eyebrow, her mind churning. "How much should I use?" After a moment of consideration, she decided to keep it small. She channeled her energy, and the numbers shifted before her.
[0] -----> [100]
The system updated.
[Please choose characteristics and how many you want to summon.]
The next screen listed a dizzying array of characteristics, each more intriguing and terrifying than the last. Jyahnar skimmed through them, her expression blank but her mind curious. She paused, considering how many she could summon. The system didn't seem to impose a strict limit, but she didn't want to overdo it. "Better stick with one for now," she muttered under her breath.
After several minutes of deliberation, she finalized her choices:
[Number of Summons: 1
Honkai Energy: 100
Characteristics:
- Fly
- Invisible
- Hard Exoskeleton
- Improved IQ]
She tried to select another characteristic, her mind tempted by options like regeneration or elemental resistance, but the system refused.
[Insufficient Honkai Energy. Please input more.]
Jyahnar frowned slightly, her mind a mix of curiosity and frustration. "So, I need more energy to add extra traits," she murmured, staring at the incomplete list. "This is far more complex than I expected… and way more dangerous." Yet, a part of her was excited. What kind of honkai beast would emerge from her choices?
A sinister grin spread across Jyahnar's face as a quiet, eerie chuckle escaped her lips. "Hehehe," she laughed softly, her tone unnerving even in the empty expanse. Without hesitation, she clicked the "Summon" button.
Immediately, a strange sensation coursed through her body as her Honkai energy began to drain. It flowed out of her like a stream, coalescing in the air before her. The water beneath her rippled slightly, and the air grew heavy with an ominous presence. Slowly, a creature began to form—its body emerging as though molded from pure silicone and energy.
Jyahnar watched with sharp focus, her gaze locked on the creation. It was exactly as she had chosen, but there was something more. "Wait... does my imagination affect its design?" she thought, surprised by the realization. The creature's form was strikingly similar to the Archangel Honkai Beast from the Seraph-Class, but larger, more imposing, and visibly mutated. Its glowing wings were jagged yet elegant, and its body radiated an unnatural aura that screamed both beauty and dangerous.
"Nice," she murmured, her satisfaction palpable.
The Honkai beast hovered above the water, its massive form effortlessly defying gravity as it awaited her command. Jyahnar stepped closer, her expression still unreadable. "Come closer," she said firmly.
At her command, the beast moved forward with a slow, deliberate grace. Its glowing, crystalline eyes locked onto her, awaiting orders without a shred of disobedience. Jyahnar crouched slightly, then leapt onto the beast's back, her movements fluid and confident. She settled herself on its broad surface, her lips twitching into a small smirk.
As if responding to her unspoken thought, the beast shimmered, its entire form vanishing into thin air. Jyahnar glanced down at her hands and body, now also invisible. "Oh, this is going to be fun," she muttered, her voice carrying a faint edge of excitement.
"Fly in that direction," she commanded, pointing west.
The Honkai beast obeyed instantly, its massive wings beating against the air with a soundless rhythm. It glided effortlessly above the endless ocean.
It wasn't a random choice, the direction she pointed. She felt it—faint yet undeniable—a human presence far off in the distance. Something about it drew her in, a curiosity sparking. Her lips curled into a faint, unsettling smile as an idea began to take shape.
"Humans..." Jyahnar whispered to herself. "Let me see how different the humans of this world truly are."
The Honkai beast flew silently across the endless ocean, the waves below glimmering under the sunlight. The horizon seemed empty at first, but then, Jyahnar's sharp eyes caught sight of something cutting through the vast waters—a massive ship.
"A warship?" she muttered, her curiosity intensifying as the enormous vessel came into view. It was bristling with weaponry, the deck crawling with activity as humans moved about like ants.
Her gaze shifted to the Archangel hovering beneath her. She placed a hand lightly on its head-like structure, her fingers tracing the strange, silicone texture. "Now," she said softly, her voice dripping with malice, "let's see how these humans react."
With a simple gesture, she rose from the beast, floating effortlessly in the air. She hovered there, observing the scene like a detached god, her expression unreadable but for the faint smirk playing on her lips.
Her voice, cold and commanding, rang out. "Wreck havoc on that place."
The Archangel obeyed instantly, its massive wings unfurling as it surged forward, now visible to the humans below. The warship's crew froze in panic as the beast descended upon them, its mutated form casting a monstrous shadow over the deck.
Jyahnar watched from above, her smile widening as chaos erupted. The Honkai beast tore into the ship with brutal efficiency, its glowing wings slashing through metal and machinery as though they were paper. Screams filled the air, blending with the cacophony of alarms and explosions.
"Let's see," Jyahnar murmured to herself, her tone laced with amusement, "how these humans will respond to a force they cannot comprehend."
