Chapter 275: God of Light
"Hello everyone." Michael said with a small smile, standing on the tallest building in New York.
It tended to get the people's attention if he made a grand entrance, and if that was really the case, then all the better.
After the talk with Mikhail, Michael had come to the conclusion that he had to step up his own game.
Zeus was a pawn, and so were the other gods in the grand scheme of things.
After all, while their influence was great, none of them could have gotten above Tier 17 without the power of inluence.
Even the previous Mikhail, the only reason he had gotten so strong was simply because he was known throughout the entire universe.
And if that was really the case, then Michael just had to be better.
Why stop at a single universe? Why not expand further and beyond.
That was likely what the gods have done, and if that was case, then it was his job to replicate it.
After all, killing their followers would be much more difficult than actually becoming a god himself.
Nonetheless, he decided to start off with earth.
It was the world he had come to know the most, and now, it was time he actually played the part of a god.
Therefore, he used the most common misconception, and turned himself completely white, looking like just any faceless white being.
His body was defined to the point where it might have given it away, however, no one really paid attention to it as he was quite literally flying in the sky, overlooking the entire city of New York.
"I've descended, and I need your assistance." Michael said, stretching out his arms as a pair of golden wings appeared out of his back. "I am the God of Light, and those who wish to follow me, I will reward in kind."
He felt like an idiot, and he probably looked like one too.
However, it didn't matter, as in the end, if he could get a population of 8 Billion on his side, then his power would definitely increase by a tiny amount.
Of course, his parents were out of the loop.
Michael decided to not bother them, since they were still in their own delusions, it would be best if he simply dealt with all the problems until they regained their memories.
But since he wanted to speed through getting more powerful, he decided to give this whole world a little gift.
He stretched his hands out magnanimously, and covered the entirety of earth in a veil of his mana.
Then all of a sudden, used a heal.
Since he didn't direct it to one person, the cost increased greatly.
However, even then, despite him healing billions of people at once, his mana decreased by only 1%.
Not even half a minute later, his mana was back to full again.
Haha... Yeah, this might be easier than I thought. Michael thought smugly, before raising his voice again.
"I wish you accept this gift of mine, and if you choose to follow me wholeheartedly, there will be many more gifts to come. Remember, I am the God of Light, and I will be watching."
With that, Michael teleported off the world, instead heading back to the Eldritch realm.
He left Hermes back with Zeus who he had healed despite his reluctance, so currently, he had no taxi.
Yet as he expected to travel for several hours, it only took him roughly 50 minutes.
Michael knew for a fact that it wouldn't take such a short amount of time to gain power from devotees, however, there wasn't any other explanation.
The word spread, obviously, and with that, he was finally back in the eldritch realm.
He entered through the training room's door, and was now back inside his mansion.
And the first person that came into view the moment he opened the door, was none other than Pardoth who stared at him with an angry expression.
"You do know you broke the contract right?"
"I did?" Michael tilted his head. "I don't remember doing so."
"You slacked off and now, you have to make many more bodies."
"I thought I made you at least 20 last time, what's the problem? That should've given me 10 days of free time at least." Michael complained.
"I can choose whether I want to give you more work or not," Pardoth stated. "I had to go, and I came back a bit sooner than I thought. But to my surprise, you were nowhere to be seen."
"So how is that my fucking problem then?" Michael lashed out. "I did my job, and it's not my fault you couldn't figure your shit out."
Pardoth narrowed his eyes, drastically increasing the pressure. "Just who do you think you're talking to, boy." Find more to read at My Virtual Library Empire
"Pardoth." Michael called out, immediately cutting the pressure with a single word. "I don't like to be treated as just some worker. So if you want me to do my job as a partner, sort your own shit out. I have to go now."
With that, Michael left, leaving the stunned Pardoth behind.
They obviously wouldn't fight as Michael still had a lot of uses for Pardoth.
But still, it was good to establish their relationship here and now, else he'd be used by Pardoth.
Nonetheless, Michael had some plans he wanted to sort through urgently.
And for some reason, the Eldritch realm acted as some sort of hub from which he could easily access other worlds.
He could literally feel every single world from here, and next on the agenda, was none other than Verdusk.
Michael, focused, attempting to find it.
He decided to search in the vicinity of Astraea's world, and not much longer, he finally found it.
It was still as lively as ever from what he could see, therefore, Michael teleported on over, straight into the heart of Vivum.
Unsurprisingly, it still had a lot of damage done to it from the demon attack.
The amount of money it cost to fix everything was obviously too much for Amanda, else she would have fixed it by now.
Nonetheless, he looked through Vivum, trying to spot the best place to speak.
Yet the moment his presence touched upon a particular area, he felt a being who was nearly as strong as Michael.
Of course, it was none other than Fafnir.
But there was one thing that confused Michael, and that was, the mana.
It didn't feel as harmonious as before, almost as if Fafnir began using demonic mana.
Upon further inspection, he could tell that wasn't the case.
Despite that, Michael held back his speech for a few moments, and decided to head down to Vivum.
The inner part was destroyed, sure. However, the same didn't apply to the outer part who was even more lively than before.
But he could tell one particular part was prospering more than the rest, and that was the slums.
From the outside, he could see a few train stations heading downward, and where else could they go but the slums.
Michael felt a warm feeling welling up inside his heart, and decided to head down as well.
No one really paid much attention to him, aside from the few casual glances.
After all, he was in his normal form, the one people had come to know of as the Saint.
But that same Saint abandoned them many years ago and most, if not all the people had lost their memories of him.
"Wait a moment." A stern voice rang out from behind him, causing him to halt in place.
He turned around, and met a familiar white haired and horned man.
It was none other than Fafnir.
Michael expected no one to remember him, not even Fafnir, but that didn't seem to be the case.
"Michael right? I don't know what you did, but my memory is a bit foggy. Unless..." Fafnir narrowed his eyes, focusing on Michael's mana core.
But of course, there was nothing to focus on since it wasn't there.
As for the God core, only a few people can fell it, and even then, less people can actually tell its true nature.
Therefore, Michael simply tilted his head.
"Fafnir, long time no see. What can I help you with?"
"I heard you pulled some shit and wiped out a city. Is that true?" Fafnir asked, seemingly already knowing the answer.
But since Michael hadn't had a proper conversation in some time, he decided to tease a little.
"I don't know? What do you think? Did I nuke an entire city on purpose?"
"Of course, you wouldn't be called the Demonic Saint if you hadn't." Fafnir followed through with the banter, making Michael's brow rise.
"Demonic Saint?"
"Yep." Fafnir nodded. "People don't remember your name anymore. But there's one thing they do remember, and that's the title they have given you."
"Seems like a shitty name, but I can see where they are coming from." Michael shrugged. "Anyways, does anyone else remember me? Amanda maybe?"
"No one, Michael." Fafnir shook his head. "Not even those girls you brought back, no one has even asked a question ever since a few years ago. They just all forgot you."
"Mhm..." Michael nodded, as if his hopes were gone. "Want to accompany me into the slums? I want to do a few things before I leave."
Fafnir chuckled.
"Sure, why not."
