Chapter 47: Chapter 47: The Strange Dream Appears Again

Regardless, being able to initially control one's own dreams marks the threshold of nightmare magic. Among the ancestors of the Somleno family, not many were able to achieve this feat.

According to the manuscript's records, what Robert needs to do next is to continuously expand the size of the dream space he can control. At present, Robert can only simulate a small corner of a London street in his dream.

The speculation is that only once he can expand the simulated environment to the size of an entire street will he be able to proceed to the next and final step.

Just thinking about this last step made Robert feel it was absurd and contradictory. How could it be possible to accomplish such a thing?

The last step is to move the power of dreams into reality while remaining awake. For example, bringing the London street scene from the dream into reality so that others can see it...

The most crucial part is that during this process, the practitioner must be awake and cannot fall asleep! In other words, Robert must allow others to witness the daydream he created.

Once this step is achieved, the practitioner can use this magic to induce sleep in others and control their dreams at will...

Upon reading this, Robert knew that such a goal was far beyond his reach in the short term.

He decisively put the manuscript down, stood up, and stretched, his mood lifting once again.

Though reaching the final step is difficult, practicing this magic allows one to continuously enhance the strength of the soul. This alone is worth the effort!

After all, the correlation between magic power and soul power has been verified through experiments!

In this world, where magic power seemingly only increases with age, Robert could now increase it through practice! This was a truly profitable situation.

"Toby, let's go back!" Robert called out.

"Of course, Master Wade. Would you like to Apparate yourself, or should Toby take you back?" Toby asked politely.

"Please take me with you. I don't seem to be able to use magic at the moment. My head hurts when I cast spells... I need to sleep," Robert replied.

Back at the Hog's Head Inn, Robert laid down and soon fell into a deep sleep, his head resting on the pillow.

The stimulating potion had only given him a short burst of energy. The consumed soul power couldn't be replenished immediately and could only be restored gradually through rest.

Toby followed Robert's instructions, sitting beside his bed and keeping watch, never leaving his side. This constant attention made Tom quite irritated.

This damn elf had given him no chance to strike! While Tom was frustrated, he also found the situation puzzling.

It had only been a few hours since he last saw Robert, yet the normally tireless man seemed utterly exhausted. Robert looked as though he hadn't slept in a month.

"Toby, where's Master Wade? Why does he look so drained?" Tom asked, growing more suspicious.

"Toby promised Master Wade that he would not reveal anything. Not even to Master Wade's best friend, Master Tom!" Toby replied seriously.

Tom frowned, sensing that this had something to do with Robert's mysterious strength, but...

He had come to understand creatures like house-elves well. A house-elf would never disobey its master's orders, meaning there was no chance of getting information out of Toby.

However, Toby likely knew some of Robert's secrets!

Tom made up his mind to learn a magic that could pry into others' secrets, starting with Toby to uncover Robert's powerful abilities.

For now, though...

"Just make sure he gets some sleep when you get back... Has he eaten yet? Don't let him go hungry."

"Thank you for your concern. Master Wade has already eaten," Toby reassured him.

Robert slept soundly for a long time. Even Tom, who could usually stay awake for days, couldn't help but feel the urge to sleep himself.

As the night passed, Tom's breathing became steady, and he soon fell asleep under the covers.

Suddenly, Robert's fingers twitched, and his previously calm eyes began to roll beneath his eyelids.

Having spent the entire day dreaming, Robert slipped back into slumber once more.

This dream was all too familiar.

It was a place shrouded in white mist.

In the distance, hidden within the mist, a dark figure waved at Robert.

The figure's mouth moved, as if trying to speak to him.

Having learned nightmare magic, Robert immediately woke up from the dream. He quickly recalled that he had experienced the same dream before!

However, it had been interrupted by Grindelwald's attack before it could finish...

This time, however, Robert could vaguely hear the voice.

The voice seemed processed, its gender unclear.

Though Robert couldn't make out the full message, he could distinctly catch a few words:

"...Follow...the power...the dream..."

Despite the words being unclear, Robert couldn't ignore the strange feeling in his chest.

He tried to control the dream, wanting to move closer to the figure in order to hear clearly.

However, his attempt to control the dream failed miserably.

This caught Robert by surprise.

"Could it be... this wasn't actually my dream?" Robert mused.

Realizing he couldn't control the dream, he chose to walk toward the figure, feeling an odd weight in his legs, as if moving was harder than usual.

After a long struggle, Robert finally reached the shadow.

But as soon as he arrived, the shadow fell silent.

Before Robert could speak, the figure, which resembled Xiao Hei from Conan, stood there motionless.

"Who are you?" Robert demanded.

The shadow responded, this time with clarity, "Follow it and come to me."

Then, Robert felt as though his body lightened, and the world around him spun.

Suddenly, Robert jolted awake, sitting up in bed, feeling energized!

He immediately noticed Toby, who was lying beside him, having fallen asleep without him realizing.

And beside Toby, there was a lighter emitting a faint blue glow on the bedside table!

The lighter was vibrating slightly...

Without waking Toby, Robert reached out and picked up the lighter.

Tentatively, he pressed his fingers to the blue light.

"Crack!"

The lid of the lighter popped open automatically.

A soft blue flame emerged and floated into the air.

The flame circled around Robert's head before drifting toward the window...

Suddenly, Robert recalled the shadow's words in his dream: "Follow it and come to me."

He hesitated for only a moment. Since the other figure could enter his dreams at will, it would be easy to kill him if necessary.

As it seemed to be his only option, Robert decided to follow the shadow's instructions.

He put on his shoes, picked up his wand, and cast a stunning charm on the sleeping Tom, ensuring he would sleep soundly.

With that, Robert vanished from the house and reappeared outside, standing on the street.

Hogsmeade village was eerily silent at this hour, with only a few lanterns casting dim light.

The small blue flame floated in the middle of the street, as if waiting for Robert.

When Robert reached it, the flame began to drift forward, like a will-o'-the-wisp leading the way...
