Harry Potter: Wizards Supersmacy

Chapter 23: Chapter -23 The Invisibility Cloak.

Chapter -23.

"What a group of reckless little kids," Brian thought as he picked up the invisibility cloak.

Good luck to them.

Brian scrutinized the invisibility cloak in his hands; this was the simplest of the deathly hallows he had encountered.

The soft invisibility cloak felt icy to the touch, like liquid, yet was as light as a feather, glimmering silver in the moonlight.

Brian flipped it around repeatedly, but of course, he could not uncover its secrets. It appeared quite similar to an ordinary invisibility cloak, but the quality was noticeably superior; that was the only deduction he could make.

Well, it was still a bit premature to be engaging with the deathly hallows.

Brian wrapped the invisibility cloak around himself, observing his invisible hands, contemplating whether he might ask his father if he had a few invisibility cloaks in his collection. It truly was quite handy.

He didn't plan to keep the invisibility cloak for himself. It was clear that Dumbledore would be monitoring this deathly hallow, and he didn't want to be discovered by Dumbledore at any point.

"I'll return it to them tomorrow," Brian said as he descended the tower wearing the invisibility cloak.

At the base of the tower, Professor McGonagall's furious voice could be heard. Brian quietly made his way in that direction.

Professor McGonagall had quite a catch tonight; she had apprehended Harry and the others just coming down from the tower, along with Malfoy!

Brian shielded his eyes. He hadn't informed Malfoy about what transpired tonight; he didn't understand why he was still out.

"I truly didn't expect four students to be awake, wandering around at this hour. How dare you!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed, her nostrils flaring with rage. "Detention! Each of you loses fifty points!"

The four of them gasped in disbelief, and Malfoy shot her an angry look, but ultimately remained silent and sulked.

"Professor... please..." Harry implored, "You can't..."

"You don't need to remind me what to do, Potter. Miss Granger, I thought you would be more sensible. And Mr. Weasley, I thought you valued Gryffindor's honor..."

Professor McGonagall reprimanded the four of them, causing them to huddle together like frightened quails.

Filch approached after hearing the commotion, standing nearby with a malicious expression. Mrs. Norris crouched by his feet, her large yellow eyes scanning sharply.

Brian didn't step out; he observed quietly. He didn't want to be reprimanded.

However, it was fortunate that Harry and the others didn't betray him.

After Professor McGonagall finished scolding them, she angrily waved them away.

The four of them walked back, looking as disheartened as frostbitten eggplants. Even Malfoy wasn't in the mood to ridicule them.

Brian took a shortcut, returning to the dormitory before Malfoy came back.

He lay silently on his bed, feeling sorry for them for three seconds.

Malfoy pushed open the dormitory door with heavy steps, glanced at Brian lying on the bed, and immediately became furious.

He approached and shoved Brian.

"What's wrong? Why did you come back so late?" Brian asked.

"I went out looking for you, sneaking out in the middle of the night!" Malfoy said angrily, "Don't let me find out you went to see Potter and the others."

"I went to practice spells," Brian replied softly, "You know, daytime is never enough."

He believed that a small lie was beneficial to friendship.

"I got caught by Professor McGonagall! And Potter and the others," Malfoy fumed, "They went out in the middle of the night; they must have dealt with that dragon."

"I lost fifty points and I'm getting detention! I'm going to have my dad complain about that awful woman."

"But Potter and the others lost a total of one hundred and fifty points for Gryffindor," Malfoy consoled himself, "Tomorrow Gryffindor's score will definitely be empty. I think if there are negative points, they must have made history!"

The next day, in the hourglass that recorded points, both Gryffindor and Slytherin's scores had decreased.

Gryffindor's score had nearly halved, leaving the Gryffindor students unable to believe their eyes.

Malfoy sighed in relief at the position of the hourglass, as Slytherin's score had not dropped from first place because of him; instead, Gryffindor had fallen from second to second-to-last.

He then became smug, mocking Potter in the Great Hall and making their late-night adventure widely known.

This made Harry and his friends the center of everyone's disdain. No one looked favorably upon them, especially Harry and Ron. The Gryffindors were more forgiving towards Hermione, as many of Gryffindor's points were earned by her, far exceeding fifty points.

It must be noted that Gryffindor's score was already quite close to Slytherin's, and with Brian's encouragement, Hermione had been more proactive in answering questions, while Brian was not very keen on responding.

Although Slytherin also lost points, overall, they had actually widened the gap with the second place, as Ravenclaw's score was much lower. Malfoy became the hero, loudly proclaiming in the common room how he had discovered Potter and his friends out on a night stroll and reported them to the professors.

"Professor McGonagall not only failed to commend my contribution, but she also deducted points from me. She's so biased," Malfoy said, raising his chin leisurely.

In the morning, investigators from the Ministry of Magic raided Hagrid's hut, but they found nothing. They searched around the school and the Forbidden Forest all day, leaving the school at dusk.

Malfoy was quite displeased with this; he secretly resented that he had wasted too much time and hadn't sent Hagrid to Azkaban on the spot.

Harry and his friends observed all of this, secretly relieved, while Harry also said with some irritation, "I swear, I won't get involved in things again."

In one night, he had gone from the most popular person to the target of everyone's scorn, and it had not been a pleasant day for him.

"Potter, this should be your Invisibility Cloak," Brian's uniquely gentle voice sounded beside him. "I found it in the tower last night."

"Oh, thank you, walker," Harry quickly took it, saying, "It's very important to me."

"Indeed, it's a valuable item; you need to cherish it," Brian said with implication. "And thank you for not exposing me last night."

"You're welcome." At this point, Harry's mood dropped. "You helped us, helped Hagrid."

"Regardless, thank you," Brian squinted and smiled, then walked away.

That day, he sent a letter home, asking Mr. Walker if he had a collection of Invisibility Cloaks.

The next day, Becca delivered a letter from Mr. Flit, along with a small package.

Brian first read Mr. Walker's letter.

Mr. Walker stated that he did not have a collection of such useless things as Invisibility Cloaks, as he could easily use the Disillusionment Charm to become invisible. However, he did have a few that belonged to his friends, and he brought one over.

He informed Brian that the magic of the Invisibility Cloak would gradually fade, and it would need to be replenished by a professional alchemist in about three or four months, or else it would lose its effectiveness.

He also warned Brian not to sneak into the Forbidden Forest while wearing the cloak, as it was too dangerous; many animals there had excellent senses of smell and could see through the cloak.

"Of course, if you want to sneak into the Restricted Section with it, I fully support that," Mr. Walker said. "The Restricted Section of Hogwarts has too many precious books that our family does not have; you might find treasures in there."

Brian stared at the letter in silence for a long time before setting it aside.

Then he opened the small package and took out the dull gray Invisibility Cloak. Compared to Harry's, this one was indeed too inconspicuous, only large enough for one person, and the material was not very good.

"Truly a Deathly Hallow," Brian sighed. However, this Invisibility Cloak was more than sufficient for him.

He put on the cloak to test its effectiveness and was quite satisfied, also exclaiming, "Why didn't I think to ask Father for an Invisibility Cloak before?"

"I almost hanged myself on that Disillusionment Charm rope."

Time passed until Sunday, when Ron received a letter from his brother Charlie, stating that he had brought the dragon back to Romania.

"Great, the dragon didn't die," Harry sighed with relief. He didn't want Hagrid to be sad.

"But it's not that great," Hermione added after looking at the letter.

In the letter, Charlie expressed deep condemnation and dissatisfaction with Liam, as when he received Norbert, the dragon had lost a lot of weight; it had been drained of a lot of blood, and even its scales were somewhat bald.

Of course, the dragon's body still had no major issues; their recovery ability is very strong, and they can recover quickly. But Norbert still had a significant psychological shadow regarding humans, especially fearing wizards in robes and the wands in their hands.

"At least it feels right, doesn't it?" Ron comforted, "It's right for it to fear wizards; staying away from them can indeed help it live a little longer."

"I'm not worried about it," Harry said irritably. Recently, his days have been quite difficult.

"Anyway don't let Hagrid know," he added.
