Harry Potter : The White Wizard of Hogwarts

Chapter 34: 34. Magical Secret Realm

"But first, we need to prepare."

"Sleep well!" Ivan cast a new spell on Neville, one he'd created by modifying a fainting charm.

This "sleep well" spell not only improves sleep quality but also lets the person wake up at a set time. This way, Neville can enjoy a restful night with pleasant dreams and still be up in time for breakfast.

"Alright, this should be foolproof," Ivan said confidently.

He picked up Yumi, his cat, and turned a lever on the wardrobe. With a clear "click," the wardrobe transformed from a regular closet into a magical doorway.

Stepping through the doorway, Ivan heard a prompt from his system in his mind.

[New Side Quest: The Magical Realm]

Quest Summary: You've entered a magical realm created by powerful magic. Explore this place and uncover the mystery of how it came to be.

Reward: Unknown

"Meow~~" Yumi cried softly as Ivan looked around, realizing he was in a different world.

He thought about the side quest he'd just received, then looked out into the world outside the wardrobe. Surrounding him was a dense, shadowy forest filled with bushes and ancient trees, which made it difficult to see very far.

Instinctively, Ivan activated his "magic sight," a spell that let him see traces of magic around him.

The scene suddenly changed: the forest transformed into a vibrant sea of colors. The sky, the ground, and every tree and plant glowed with powerful magical energy. It was almost overwhelming, and Ivan had to close his magic sight just to look around normally.

"So, this quest wants me to figure out the origin of this magical realm?" he wondered aloud.

He pushed aside some bushes, feeling the soil underfoot and the rough bark of the surrounding trees. "This all feels real. There's no sign it's an illusion. This place really exists."

Yumi hopped down, looking around in wide-eyed curiosity.

Ivan had brought her along partly to explore with him, but also (half-jokingly) to use her as a lookout if things got dangerous. He'd already checked his fate with divination and knew they would both be safe and back in class in a few days. Ivan would never dive into an unknown world without at least some preparation.

Rustle!

A sudden sound made Ivan tense up. His hand went instinctively to his wand, and he pointed it in the direction of the noise.

"Huh?"

Out of the bushes came an odd-looking blue bird with a short, thick, curved beak. It reminded him of a turkey come back to life.

"A dodo?" Ivan muttered, recognizing the bird from nature classes in his previous life.

But before he could react, the dodo vanished in a flash of white light.

"What was that?"

After a moment of confusion, Ivan realized it wasn't actually a dodo, but a magical creature called a "fwooper," also known to wizards as the "ball bird." According to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, ball birds came from Mauritius, where Muggles mistakenly believed them extinct due to their teleporting ability.

"Where am I, exactly?" Ivan wondered, holding Yumi tightly as he followed the trail left by the fwooper.

Before moving far, he glanced back to check the cabinet doorway, making sure he had a way back. To be safe, he marked the spot with a spell.

Ivan carefully moved through the dense forest, wand at the ready, prepared for any danger. He was also aware of his rare "silent magic," a mark of high magical ability.

With his skills and power, Ivan felt secure in handling any threat that might come his way. And even if he was outmatched, he could always turn into a mist and escape quickly.

More ball birds popped out of the bushes, making Ivan wonder if he had entered their territory. Then, the trees suddenly gave way to a stunning, open scene.

He stopped, gazing at a golden beach and a peaceful lake in front of him. The atmosphere was so calm and pure that it felt like it was cleansing his spirit. The ball birds he'd just followed were gathered there, along with other rare magical creatures he didn't recognize. Some were drinking from the lake, while others played along the shore, creating a beautiful, ancient scene.

"This magical realm is far bigger than I expected."

In the distance, he could see mountain ranges stretching as far as the eye could see, and the sky was filled with winged creatures. This magical world was so vast and realistic it was hard to believe it could be created by magic alone.

"Is this really part of the Harry Potter world?" Ivan wondered. He'd always thought wizards, even the most powerful like Dumbledore or Grindelwald, had their limits. Merlin was considered the greatest, but even he might not be able to create something on this scale.

"Could even Merlin make something like this?" Ivan pondered.

This magical realm didn't just contain magical creatures; it had a complete ecosystem, with different creatures living together in harmony. It was like a larger version of Newt's enchanted suitcase.

"No, I need to think differently," Ivan reminded himself. The moment he crossed into this world, it stopped being just a story.

In this real world, wizard history must go back far longer than what he'd read in Hogwarts textbooks. According to the ancient magic books Ivan had studied, wizardry in Europe was said to have started in ancient Egypt.

This meant magic had existed for over 3,000 years, maybe even longer.

Ivan realized that in this version of the world, the myths, legends, and gods of different cultures might actually be rooted in wizard history.

The gods from ancient Greece, Egypt, and even the legendary emperors of the East could be seen as powerful wizards by Muggle standards. Different cultures had different names, but the abilities they possessed were still "magic," able to manipulate the world's rules in ways Ivan was only beginning to understand.
