Harry Potter: Return From Future

Chapter 56: Harry's Rage

After Snape left, Harry again turned towards Daphne with a smile on his face. a lot of curious gazes still lingered on Harry.

Meanwhile, Daphne was still lost in a trance. She did not understand what was happening and how exactly to respond.

"Mr. Greengrass," Harry smiled. "As I was saying before the disruption that I thought quite a lot about what you said and I somewhat agree with you."

"About what?" Daphne interrupted with a confused expression.

"About the fact that I have judged all Slytherins evil merely by the fact that they belong to the Slytherin house," Harry continued. "Well, I cannot absolve myself about this issue but I was influenced by some external factors."

"But now after hearing your words, I realised how foolish I had been," he said.

"And now I am here to rectify this foolishness," said Harry. "And who a better candidate than you for me start this new path."

Harry extended his hands towards Daphne, "I believe we can be great friends."

Daphne's eyes widened in shock at this completely unexpected gesture. And she had no idea how to respond this gesture.

She could refuse this and retain her image as the Slytherin ice princess. But this was not going to change in any way what she had already been going through.

And the second option was to accept the gesture. Harry Potter was a powerful ally and maybe… just maybe she could get herself out of all the burden. But she was not sure about Harry's motive. Maybe it was one of those Gryffindor's pranks. Maybe he was just waiting for her to extend her hand and she would be mocked.

And even if this was not a prank, how much serious Harry would be? This could very well be only a nominal gesture which would end at mere handshake. Harry would have no effect on his life but her life would turn worse… worse than she had been living.

While, Daphne was lost in her thoughts, it had turned awkward for Harry as his hand was still hanging in mid air. Although, Harry did not seem to mind, murmurs in low whispers had already broken throughout the great hall.

Even the professors seated in their chairs were watching with a tense face and Snape who was now back in his chair had a smirk on his face. His thought was that Daphne was going to reject the proposal and Harry would make a fool of himself.

And same thought went through the mind of another of Slytherin students- Draco Malfoy who had been sitting few seats across Daphne on her opposite side.

He stood with his ever perpetual Malfoy sneer on his face.

"Potter," he sneered. "Well, it seems you have been insulted."

"And it should be like this," he mocked. "You deserve that red haired idiot friend of yours and that mud…"

Draco was halfway through the word- 'mud blood' when Harry snapped.

An intense wave of magical pressure erupted from him scaring the hell out of everyone present in the hall including the professors. The atmosphere in an instinct turned suffocating and only powerful people-the professors could maintain their thoughts at the moment.

Next moments, Harry raised his right hand and his fist came crashing on the massive and iconic wooden table of Hogwarts.

A loud thud echoed in the hall as Harrys' fist crashed with the table and with his fist as centre cracks appeared on it running across in all directions.

Though the wave of magical pressure from Harry had subsided his presence was still heavy as heavy.

"Malfoy," Harry growled. "Dare to say that word again and I will kill you."

Draco, against whom Harry's words were directed had his tongue struck in his throat. His entire had body had turned cold and he was trembling in fear at the sheer anger of Harry.

The sitting stool behind him was the only thing which had kept him standing otherwise Draco would had already stumbled on the floor.

Snape, among the professors was the first to react.

He stood up and marched towards Harry, "Potter… you…"

He was halfway in his sentence when Harry's head turned and Snape stilled in his track.

Harry's eyes were glowing emerald… wildly. It was as if magic had been immersed in those eyes. Harry's glowing eyes and his raged face was enough to still Snape in his way.

Minerva on the other hand had better control on her emotions as she instantly closed the distance, "Mr. Potter, what are you doing?"

Harry shouted, "Why is that every time I am being questioned?"

Harry's voice sounded like a young adult who have suffered a lot of injustices.

"I was here with good intention," he continued. "I did not create a ruckus. This Snape interrupted me first."

Minerva scolded on Harry's way of addressing Snape, "Mr. Potter."

Harry continued, "Why? Simply because I was here."

"Then this Malfoy idiot have been using the same derogatory word for the past 3 years and had faced no consequences."

"On the other hand, I get punished even for breathing too loud and walking too fast," Harry said talking about times when Snape had deducted points on these issues.

"I warn everyone present in the hall," Harry growled; his flaring anger even produced a chill in Minerva's spine. "To restrain themselves."

He stared dead in Snape eyes and then in Minerva's, "And I am not facing any punishment for this until Draco answers for his doings."

(A gentle reminder- Harry is 300+ years experienced old monster. In these situations, he does not literally lose his temper. He is just playing according to his mood and amusement with certain purposes.

And there would be times when he would really lose his temper- then the consequences would be catastrophic.)
