Harry Potter: Instant Kill

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The 3 Vs 1

"How could you have done it so fast? I thought you said it was high-level magic?" Grace asked while her mouth hung open due to the fire instantly snuffing itself out. "Have I not told you since the day we met?" I said while channelling my inner Lockhart and showing a signature self-loving smile, "I am amazing."

Receiving a stifled laugh as a reply I quickly changed the topic, "We could stay and chat about me or we could go help your brother." My words were barely out of my mouth before a look of understanding dawned on Grace's face and she darted through the door that the black flames had blocked.

Following along behind her, we travelled through the longest corridor yet as it twisted and turned in a long downward spiral. The spiral itself was easy to pick up as the curving to the left was constant but the descent was gradual enough that if you were not paying attention, you wouldn't notice you were going down at all.

Eventually, as we neared the end of the tunnel thick black smoke blocked our view and as we got closer the intense heat of the flames that stopped our advance flared. "Erik, can you work your new magic on these?" Grace asked before a high-pitched voice came from the other side of the flames.

"Two more, get them. They will help get the stone out since this fool cannot." The instant the voice spoke, the flames were quelled and the smoke was removed to reveal Professor Quirrell and a bound Harry lying nearby.

The gasp from my side reminded me to act surprised but it seemed my acting wasn't good enough as No-nose's voice spoke again, "The boy discovered that it was you Quirrell, he seems to have known for a while too."

A pained expression passed across the professor's face before Volde spoke again, "How did you figure it out, boy?" Quirrell was still clutching his face in pain while the voice sought answers from me, "It wasn't hard I could see through his ruse since day one. The stench of decay is also hard to cover and even garlic isn't enough for those who know the smell."

While I was speaking, I drew my wand and summoned Harry towards us, placing myself in front of Grace so she could free her brother. Quirrell tried to react in time to stop me from taking his bargaining chip but was too slow due to the mental backlash Voldemort had used to punish him. "Fool, you are no match for him, let me have control." Old No-nose decided to intervene commanding the professor to give up his body.

Quirrell could not refuse his master's demand and gave over his body to the parasite, "Boy I do not know your name but you have shown great promise. Become my disciple and I will teach you all I know, together we will rule the world." His words sounded as slimy as his face looked on the back of Quirrell's scalp.

"You do not share power, you devour whatever you want and give nothing to those below you," I said while readying my wand knowing he was just trying to distract me so he could curse me. Just like I had thought, he cast his first spell as I was finishing my reply, he cast a trio of spells the first was a blood-boiling curse the second was an entrail expelling curse and the third was a bone breaker aimed for my neck.

The speed of these spells would have caught me off guard but I had expected him to be skilled, I also knew most of the spells he had in his head due to Arcturus teaching me Occlumency and Legilimency during his time as my teacher. Voldemort would have developed his mind to an extreme extent however he was currently sharing a mind and body with Quirrell who seemed to have never trained his mind.

I didn't need to taunt him since just dodging and deflecting the spells he cast at me did enough of that to make him visibly stew with anger. Didn't last long however as Grace managed to free her brother from the ropes binding him, they then joined me in a combined offensive against old No-nose.

Grunting out of annoyance more than strain, Voldemort started to increase the lethality of the spells he was using. He also started to mix in the killing curse not caring at how quickly Quirrell's body deteriorated when he did so this change halted our offensive as we could no longer counter his spells and had to dodge more frequently due to the addition of the 'unblockable' spell.

The small 3 vs 1 duel lasted for another 5 minutes where the three of us harassed Voldemort while dodging for our lives, the walls had turned into a battlefield of pockmarks and spell damage and the floor was cracked by the spells deflected into it.

"You cannot beat me, you are mere children and I am the Great Voldemort." He said in his classical high-pitched voice before starting to laugh at us. Harry who had enough of the nose-less freaks nonsense shouted, "We may be children but you have no more strength in your body."

As if to prove Harry's point, Quirrell's body started to slowly fail and break. It started with his skin turning paler and slowly spread to his limbs growing unresponsive. Voldemort started to growl like a feral animal as the skin started to peel as if decaying at an accelerated pace, "I may lose here but you will lose too."

With this declaration, he launched a killing curse using the remaining strength left in Quirrell's husk of a body. The curse was aimed at Grace but I stepped into its path, getting knocked off my feet and blasted back into the far wall. Voldemort started to laugh while the flesh sloughed from his bones, "I got one of you."

His merriment didn't last long however as his smile vanished when I stood up from the place I had fallen. He didn't get much time to understand how I had survived as the last of his flesh fell to the floor leaving his skeleton standing in his last pose before it fell into a pile of bone dust.

That however didn't seem to be it since a dark cloud of malevolent energy raised from the dust before charging towards us and out of the wall. "I don't think that will be the last we see of him," I said while looking towards the potter twins who still looked shocked that I was alive.
