Harry Potter Enshrouded

Chapter 5: Gifts from fate

Breakfast was soon over as Adrian was packing up for his journey to Hogwarts. Noon was starting to settle in and sunlight streamed through the tall windows of his bedroom, Adrian's packing was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. He turned to see his mother standing there, as she held a pouch in her hands.

"Are you ready to leave?" She said

Helene Blackthorn's gaze softened as she approached. Her dark eyes gleaming with something deeper as like was hiding something secretive. She removed two small carefully wrapped parcels from her pouch, each one glowing with subtle magic.

"I have a gift for you both," she said quietly. "Something that will accompany you through your first year at Hogwarts."

Adrian's curiosity piqued, he stood up and walked toward her. Evanna, who had heard the noise, came from the room beside. Her eyes filled with curiosity.

"Is it a pet?" Evanna asked, her voice a mixture of eagerness and impatience."I have always wanted a cat and you had promised me."

Helene smiled knowingly. "Yes. But these aren't just any pets." She handed Adrian a small bundle wrapped in soft cloth and then gave one to Evanna.

The moment Adrian touched the package, he felt a warm and a gentle pulse of magic. Unwrapping it carefully, he was met with the sight of a smooth and iridescent egg. It shimmered with soft hues of gold and white, almost as if the a magical life was pulsing within.

"It's... beautiful," Adrian whispered as his fingers brushed over the egg's surface. The warmth radiated from it, making him feel connected to it already.

Evanna, too, unwrapped her gift and gasped. Inside her package lay a sleek, silver-blue egg with faint black markings. It glowed with an almost ethereal light and Adrian could sense an aura of power about it, though it was nothing like the one his egg exuded.

"Thank you, Mother," Evanna said, her tone sincere. She held the egg carefully, her eyes shining with excitement. "What are they?"

"Adrian yours is the Hohō, a legendary creature from Japan. It is said to be connected to prophecy, time and it will guide you in ways you cannot yet understand." She then turned to Evanna. "And yours is a Nekomata, a creature of legend from the east. It is said to possess great intelligence and magical abilities beyond the ordinary."

Adrian nodded, taking in his mother's words. The was a bird that was only mentioned in the Harry Potter movies. He just got to know that it is a bird connected to prophecy, time, and wisdom. From what he had heard so far, it was exactly the creature for him.

"These pets are not just animals," Helene continued, her filled with seriousness. "They are companions, and they will help you both unlock your potential in ways no ordinary pet could."

Always remember that if you take good care of the, their power will be tied to your own. Nurture your bond with them, and they will aid you when the time is right."

Both the siblings then soon placed the eggs in secure pouches.

"Thank you," Adrian said softly,

Helene nodded as she was quite satisfied with their reaction"Now go. The train leaves soon and I want you to start this year on the right foot."

Later that afternoon, the Blackthorn family arrived at the station. Adrian was excited. He would finally see the protagonist Harry Potter. Furthermore, he also wondered whether Quirrell and Voldemort would stay the same

As they walked through the busy crowd of witches and wizards, Adrian noticed the usual faces. Families milling about as parents bid their children farewell and groups of excited first-years gathered around in tight knit huddles. It looked exactly like the movies. He expected to the see the Weasley's or Harry but the then realized that he had arrived rather early. \

"We should go to the platform," Helene said.

Adrian nodded, walking beside her. The Ho Oh he was carrying excited him as he could not wait for it to hatch. According to his mother, it would take a week before it would hatch. He had decided to keep his pet a secret initially. After all, he really doubted whether people like Hagrid would leave his pet sane.

As they made their way toward the train platform, Adrian's attention was drawn to a figures of the Malfoys.

Draco Malfoy stood with his father Lucius Malfoy accompanied by his usual arrogant expression. He glanced at Adrian and Evanna as they passed. Lucius acknowledged Adrian's presence.

"You two are going to Hogwarts, I assume?" Lucius said coolly, addressing the Blackthorn siblings.

Adrian nodded, not willing to engage in another pureblood conversation. "Indeed, sir."

Evanna, on the other hand, flashed a polite smile. "It's a good year, don't you think, Mr. Malfoy?"

Lucius nodded before his eyes darted between Adrian and Evanna. "I suppose it is." He soon looked away and signaled to Draco to follow him.

The train finally arrived as its whistle echoed through the station. The Blackthorn family made their way to the front of the platform, where they were greeted by the Hogwarts staff who ushered students abroad. Adrian glanced at his mother one last time as his magical journey was about to begin.

"You'll do well, Adrian," Helene said before saying her goodbyes.

With a final nod, the train soon took off. The future was still uncertain, but it was beginning to feel as though he was finally in control of his future. He has finally escaped the prison of politics.

As the train began to move, Adrian sat in a compartment staring out of the window,. He had no idea what awaited him at Hogwarts. The original plot or a new one? Would his presence cause any sort of a butterfly effect ? Well that was a question that could not be answered. At least not yet.
