Harry Potter: Elemental Magic

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Malfoy, You Must Apologize

The midday break was only an hour long, but for Harry and his three friends, it was both exhausting and exhilarating. During that time, they focused on one task: controlling their magic.

According to Callister, precise control of magical power was essential for concocting a perfect potion. Mastering such precision could also improve the speed and accuracy of spellcasting.

Compared to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, Neville had recently discovered his magical affinity—earth-element energy. It suited his personality well: outwardly soft but inwardly strong. Despite being forgetful at times, Neville was resilient and steady when it came to decisions he made.

After bidding farewell to Harry and the others, Callister turned to see Dumbledore descending the stairs from the second floor.

"Professor Callister, what do you think of Harry?" Dumbledore asked as he approached the sofa, looking at her with interest.

Callister smiled. "He's a genius, full of adventurous spirit and a willingness to help others. However, his heart isn't exactly at peace."

Dumbledore nodded, instinctively adjusting his glasses. After a moment, he said, "What do you think about what happened last night? Who do you think was behind it?"

Callister extended a finger, and a small flame ignited at its tip. As it burned, she replied calmly, "I'm not sure. Perhaps my magic is beginning to threaten someone."

"I hope tomorrow's elemental magic class will have a promising start."

"Are you hinting at something, Professor Callister?" Dumbledore chuckled. "Don't worry, those troublesome individuals won't interfere with your efforts to teach magic."

"And if possible," Dumbledore added as he stood to leave, "please look out for Harry. He's extremely important."

Callister thought for a moment and then said, "Fine. For the sake of nurturing a genius, I don't mind if he brings glory to my elemental magic in the wizarding world."

Dumbledore chuckled again before leaving. At the door, he turned back and said, "To become an eagle, one must first endure the trials of wind and rain. I only hope this fledgling grows up quickly."

Callister watched Dumbledore's retreating figure, stroking her chin in thought.

According to the plot, what was Old Dumbledore scheming again?

She couldn't recall but had a strong feeling that his plans might become more complex as Harry and his friends grew stronger.

At 3:30 in the afternoon, it was a beautiful, sunny day with a gentle breeze. The fresh scent of nature wafted over the lush green lawn, making it feel like one was immersed in the great outdoors.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the other Gryffindor students hurried to an open field outside the castle for their first flying lesson.

By the time they arrived, the Slytherin students were already there, standing beside dozens of neatly arranged broomsticks on the ground.

Harry recalled Fred and George Weasley once complaining about the school's broomsticks, describing them as akin to drunken men—unsteady and prone to veering off course when flying too high.

"Red-haired Weasley, your nightmare begins now. Are you ready for it?" Malfoy said mockingly as he eyed the approaching trio, his gaze settling on Ron with a smirk.

Ron scowled. "What an insufferable face!" he muttered. "But Malfoy, I'll show you the prowess of a flying knight!"

Who doesn't know how to brag? Let's see whose nightmare it truly is!

Hearing Ron's retort, Malfoy burst into laughter. Pointing at Ron, he sneered, "Oh wow, everyone, listen to this! He claims to be a flying knight! Did I hear that right? Just look at him. Calling him a flying pig would already be an exaggeration!"

The Slytherin students laughed uproariously, glancing at Ron's slightly chubby figure as if finding the comparison fitting.

Ron's face turned pale with humiliation. He glared at Malfoy, trembling with anger.

Harry stepped forward, standing protectively in front of Ron. He locked eyes with Malfoy and said coldly, "Malfoy, you're insulting my friend. You owe him an apology, or I won't let this slide."

Malfoy smirked and sauntered up to Harry, exuding an air of superiority. "You really need to understand your status and position, Potter. I've always wanted you in Slytherin."

He paused, then glanced briefly at Hermione before continuing, "If you still don't know your place, I wouldn't mind letting you experience the feeling of a broomstick smacking your backside during flying lessons."

With that, Malfoy turned and walked away.

Seeing that Malfoy not only refused to apologize but even issued a veiled threat, Harry grew furious. Amid the astonished gasps of the surrounding students, he drew his wand and aimed it at Malfoy. "Malfoy, you must apologize."

Malfoy froze mid-step. Sensing the gravity of the situation from the crowd's reaction, he turned back to see Harry pointing a wand at him. His face turned ashen, and he stumbled back several steps in fear.

"Harry!" Ron grabbed Harry's hand in panic.

Ron was deeply moved that Harry stood up for him and even drew his wand to demand an apology. However, if Harry used magic against Malfoy now, he risked expulsion from Hogwarts.

"Harry, you can't do this! You'll be expelled!" Hermione cried, her voice trembling with worry.

At this moment, the new Gryffindor students sensed that things were taking a dangerous turn. But Neville hesitated only briefly before stepping forward to stand beside Ron, glaring angrily at Malfoy in solidarity with Harry.

Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan, Harry's dormmates, exchanged a glance before stepping up as well, aligning themselves with Harry.

The Gryffindor students, emboldened by Harry's strong stance, seemed to find a leader in him. They moved forward, forming a loose semi-circle around Harry and Malfoy.

The Slytherin students, on the other hand, hesitated, their initial confidence wavering. This hesitation only fueled Gryffindor's courage further.
