Harry Potter: Demon Monarch

Chapter 41: Chapter -41 Rebellious hostages.

Chapter - 41.

At that moment, everyone in the hall stared in disbelief at the green flash of the Killing Curse, their hearts racing as if they might leap from their chests in fright.

This was the infamous Killing Curse, one of the three Unforgivable Curses that the Ministry of Magic strictly forbids; using it openly could mean a one-way ticket to Azkaban.

Yet, when the wizards in the hall noticed the grayish-white prison uniforms worn by the group of captives, they fell quiet.

"Levitation!"

Out of nowhere, the pure-blood wizard who was about to fall victim to the Avada Kedavra curse shot a fierce glare and swiftly moved aside while shouting, "These dark wizards won't let us escape! We have hundreds on our side, and they barely have a hundred. Everyone, grab your wands and let's fight back together!"

As he spoke, a stone slab, magically lifted by his Levitation Charm, managed to intercept the Killing Curse, providing a shield.

"Ministry officials, rally with me!"

Clearly, this middle-aged pure-blood wizard held an important position within the Ministry. His rallying call prompted many who had secretly kept their wands at the ready to raise them, prepared to counterattack.

Naturally, these were all officials from the Ministry of Magic, and they belonged to families of considerable status.

Without hesitation, many of these pure-blood Ministry wizards pointed their wands and began responding to the threat posed by Lester and the other captives.

"Expelliarmus!"

"Stupefy!"

A flurry of colorful spells flew toward Lester and his companions like a rainstorm.

Simultaneously, several wizards who had previously thrown down their wands were swayed by the pure-blood officials, with many eager to reclaim their wands.

"Damn it!"

Watching the spells speed toward him, Lester's expression turned icy. He had originally planned to take down one person to instill fear, but now they were daring to attack him.

"Protego Diabolica!"

Lester frowned, reciting the spell as he did.

Whoosh!!!

A roaring fire burst forth in the hall, and several fireballs slowly formed in front of him.

Then, with a swift gesture of his hand, he pointed toward the resistant pure-blood wizards.

Swish!

Like a command, the fireballs zoomed toward the few pure-blood officials standing in opposition, moving with alarming speed.

The horrifying flames crackled through the air, quickly reaching the resistant officials.

The moment the flames made contact, they engulfed the officials, erasing them completely in seconds.

Aiming to harm only those deserving, Lester refrained from using widespread attacks, opting instead for precise strikes with fire. Thus, he only dealt with the few wizards who initially resisted. He felt that the prisoners he brought with him were more than capable of handling the rest.

Sure enough, seeing this group of nearly abducted wizards dare to fight back, the prisoners behind Lester displayed a savage gleam in their eyes.

"Avada Kedavra!"

In an instant, several inmates raised their wands and retaliated with the Killing Curse.

Simultaneously, many wizards cast protective spells to shield against the first attack from their defiant peers.

After braving the first wave of onslaught, the Azkaban prisoners stood ready, unleashing a barrage of dark and wicked spells at the group that was resisting their aggression.

"Ah!!!"

A chorus of anguished screams filled the hall. The wizards who only knew how to use the Disarming Charm stood no chance against this fearsome group of prisoners. Their once warm bodies rapidly turned into lifeless corpses in the wake of the merciless Killing Curse.

"Help!!!"

"Ah!!!!"

"Please don't kill me, I'll surrender!"

Witnessing the horrifying scene, many wizards, who had previously been swayed to resist by the pure-blood officials, were now utterly terrified, sitting down in panic.

Once contemplating rebellion, they now solely wished to survive.

In a heartbeat, dozens of lives were taken, the shocking brutality of the scene leaving everyone on the battlefield in disbelief.

[....]

It didn't take long for Lester, as the leader, to accumulate a substantial amount of fear value.

However, he had no time to dwell on that right now.

He noticed that the already somewhat unstable prisoners, after taking down a handful of individuals, were growing more and more voracious in their looks.

Realizing this, Lester thought to himself that this was not a good situation.

The prisoners were clearly unfit for their roles; if not for the remaining respect they held for him, they surely would have already turned to indiscriminately attacking the defenseless wizards in the hall.

"When I reach Hogwarts, I must take the time to train a proper wizarding army," Lester sighed, glancing at the trembling wizards in the hall with a touch of pity, then said to the prisoners behind him, "Go on, search them, and discover any items of threat they may have."

"Yes, boss!"

At Lester's command, excitement sparkled in the eyes of the prisoners.

Searching for dangerous magical items was simply a pretext for plundering.

Who could tell if they might uncover Galleons or something truly threatening?

As anticipated, as soon as Lester finished speaking, the aware prisoners immediately raised their wands and charged into the terrified crowd like wolves, starting their rampage of looting.

Some even bypassed the living entirely, heading straight for the fallen Ministry officials who had succumbed to the Killing Curse. After all, everyone knew these officials were likely wealthy and would have plenty of valuable items!

If they stumbled upon something truly valuable, like a Diagon Alley deed, they might find themselves no longer labeled as dark wizards but could instead cleanse themselves and rise to be their own masters.

Of course, while these rascals were busy robbing, they targeted only certain individuals.

They casually glanced over those plainly dressed, evidently impoverished wizards who had come to the Ministry seeking help and ignored them.

This wasn't out of newfound compassion but rather because those wizards truly had nothing of value!

Searching through them for half the day wouldn't yield even a few Groats, making it a waste of time.

Instead, it was far more worthwhile to go after the seemingly prosperous pure-blood nobles, who would surely have plenty of treasures to spare.
