Chapter 3: Chapter -3 Drawing first blood.
Chapter -3.
In the dim, musty cell, a chilly breeze occasionally blew through.
When Lester suddenly vanished, the other occupants in the cell were overwhelmed by fear.
Given that they were all locked up in Azkaban, they were certainly no ordinary folks; they had experienced quite a bit of the wizarding world.
"You little brat, get out here this instant!" the burly man roared, angrily searching every nook and cranny of the cell for any sign of Lester.
This mischievous kid could cast the Disillusionment Charm without a wand, but he was bound to leave some clues behind.
The floor of the damp cell was covered in mud and dirt.
Whether adult or child, anyone stepping on it would definitely leave noticeable tracks.
With that thought, a wicked grin spread across the burly man's face as he focused intently on the ground, ready to pounce at the first sign of movement.
Unfortunately, after a long wait, the burly man still found no hint of Lester.
With his exceptional Disillusionment Charm, Lester seemed to have truly vanished without a trace in the prison.
Hidden from view, Lester watched the burly man, who was still searching earnestly for him, and couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
His gaze began to roam the cell.
From his experience, he reasoned that prisons should have makeshift weapons crafted by the inmates themselves.
If he could discover their weapons while staying invisible, he could strike a decisive blow against them.
Lester's eyes flitted towards the bunk beds, carefully dodging the other prisoners, until he reached the upper and lower bunks.
It was clear that the arrangement of these bunks was very unfair.
The lower bunk was cluttered with trash, and the bedding emitted a strange odor.
In stark contrast, the upper bunk, while not immaculate, was significantly better than the garbage pile below.
If things were as they appeared, the upper bunk likely belonged to the cell's leader—the burly man.
Thanks to his extraordinary Disillusionment Charm, Lester silently climbed up to the upper bunk and discreetly inched towards the man's bed.
Carefully, Lester reached under the sturdy man's pillow and quickly found exactly what he was looking for.
A sharp little stone knife.
Cautiously gripping the handle, Lester slowly pulled it out from beneath the pillow. Like the magic of his invisibility spell, the knife also became invisible in his grasp, allowing Lester to remain unseen.
At that moment, Lester relaxed his legs and let them dangle as he propped his hand on his neck, watching the burly man's antics.
Within the cell, since Lester was invisible, the muscular man resorted to clumsy tactics.
He began swinging his fists wildly, launching aimless attacks at the surrounding air, desperately trying to strike the invisible Lester. Unfortunately, he hit nothing.
Even when he struck the unpleasant toilet area, the burly man still couldn't locate Lester.
It was as if Lester had completely disappeared from the prison.
After countless fruitless attempts, the burly man finally paused, gasping for breath; he was muscular but not invincible. No matter how strong someone is, after so many strikes, fatigue will set in.
"Could that kid have escaped?" the sturdy man panted, still puzzled about where Lester had gone. Little did he know, Lester was comfortably resting on the upper bunk, enjoying the show.
"It's time to make my move," Lester thought as he noticed the wheezing man. A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he tightly gripped the small knife he had discovered. He was not a merciful person; if someone wronged him, he made sure to respond in kind.
Having already been unjustly imprisoned, Lester was more than ready to make a decisive strike. After all, this was a prison, not a school; kindness wouldn't earn him any respect here. Only through ruthlessness could he secure his place.
"If you need to blame someone, blame your poor choice of an opponent." A flicker of intent shone in Lester's eyes as he jumped down from the upper bunk.
Thanks to his incredible invisibility technique, Lester landed softly on the ground without a sound.
Moving stealthily like a top-tier assassin, Lester approached the worn-out sturdy man step by step.
One step, two steps, three steps.
At that moment, the invisible Lester moved like a professional killer, reaching the burly man's back without him noticing.
With his small hand gripping the stone knife tightly, Lester's expression hardened as he lunged forward, raising the knife high and stabbing it forcefully toward the man's kidney.
"Pfft!" The sharp knife surged effortlessly into the burly man's body, and crimson blood gushed uncontrollably from his wound.
"Ah!" The sturdy man, severely injured in the kidney, let out a low moan through the pain.
His face quickly turned a peculiar shade of purple-red as he stared, wild-eyed, at the blood spraying from his injury.
Even though his kidney was in torment, the burly man felt an intense rush of exhilaration. In fact, he had purposely left himself open to give Lester the chance to strike.
As long as his blood touched that little brat, no matter how invisible he was, he would have to reveal himself. At that moment, the frail Lester would be at his mercy.
The knife had punctured the entire right side of the sturdy man's waist, and blood was flowing freely, forming a small pool on the ground beneath him.
With every spray of bright red blood from the wound, it quickly splattered towards Lester.
Seeing the blood headed his way, Lester remained unfazed, confidently relying on his invisibility to avoid any staining.
Indeed, the blood sprayed like a fine mist, passing through his transparent form as if he wasn't even there, splattering onto the floor and leaving the sturdy man completely bewildered.
At the same time, the other prisoners, witnessing this strange event, were struck by a wave of fear.
Of course, anyone would be terrified to suddenly find a bloody hole in their body while standing still.
Especially with this scene unfolding right in front of them.
[Ding! Fear value +100 from prisoner Leonardo]
[Ding! Fear value +100 from prisoner Quentin]
....
Soon, while still concealed, Lester noticed seven notifications appear before him, confirming he had successfully earned 700 fear points.
"Is this even possible?" he marveled at the 700 points on the system panel, pleasantly surprised.
He had thought he would need 1000 fear points for a lottery draw and that accumulating fear points would be a tough task.
Now it seemed like just one stab at the strong man earned him an incredible 700 points.
If he got a few more strikes in, wouldn't his fear points soar?
