Chapter 20: Chapter -20 Protego Diabolica.
Chapter -20.
Just as Lester felt excited and was preparing to escape from prison, the pleasant mechanical synthesized voice of the system echoed in his ears once more.
[Ding! A task has been detected: 'The wrath of the Prisoner']
[Angry Prisoners: In this miserable place known as Azkaban, everyone has lost hope for their wretched lives. The prisoners exist in a daze daily, their violent tendencies deeply buried within. Now, the furious prisoners desperately need to express their repressed emotions.]
[Task Requirement: Ensure that 80% of the prisoners in Azkaban release the rage held within their hearts.]
[Task Reward: Skill Upgrade Card (can break the skill level cap and forcibly enhance skills)]
Lester: "."
What a coincidence; he was just about to incite some chaos among the prisoners, and now the system was presenting him with a task.
"System, what are the consequences if the task is not completed?"
Lester cautiously refrained from immediately accepting the task and instead inquired about the task, so he wouldn't end up regretting it later.
[Ding! No penalties for task failure; the decision to accept the task is entirely up to the host.]
Upon hearing that there were no repercussions for failure, Lester hesitated for a moment and declared, "Accept!"
Since there was a reward for success and no penalty for failure, why not take on this task?
[Dark Lord System]
[Host: Lester Bailey]
[Magic Power: 10 (100 for adult wizards)]
[Mastered Spells: God-level Invisibility (max level, cannot be upgraded)
Wall-Passing Spell (basic spell, cannot be upgraded)
Transfiguration (from a Boggart, cannot be upgraded)
Protego Diabolica Level 1 (0/100)]
[Task: Angry Prisoners]
[Lottery: 0 times (500,000 fear points/time)]
With invisibility, wall-passing, transformation, and the ability to conjure that fierce blue fire, wasn't he invincible?
"Let's first see what the enhanced version of this crazy fire spell is like." Lester was aware of the Protego Diabolica spell, but he had never encountered an enhanced version before.
In the magical realm, Protego Diabolica could be considered one of the most fearsome magical flames, rumored to have the ability to consume certain entities, and what made it even more terrifying was its capacity to distinguish between friends and foes.
Although it was powerful, it had some limitations, as there were counter-spells that could suppress Protego Diabolica.
Thus, while Protego Diabolica was as incredibly malevolent as the three Unforgivable Curses, it was not classified among them.
Just as he was about to unleash the Protego Diabolica spell to test its might, Lester suddenly realized.
He was in Azkaban; if he made a mistake, wouldn't he set the entire place ablaze?
Not only would he fail the task, but he could also end up burned to death, as he was uncertain whether he could control it properly.
"It's better to try it outside."
Resolute, Lester immediately activated his god-level invisibility spell and entered an invisible state. He then effortlessly passed through the bars of the cell and stepped outside Azkaban prison for the first time.
As he approached the heavy iron gate of the prison, he was greeted by an endless stretch of scorched earth.
Countless Dementors roamed aimlessly over the barren land, with various oddly-shaped rocks scattered throughout the island.
Looking up at the sky, a gray mist enveloped the entire expanse, and thick dark clouds were continuously gathering in the atmosphere.
Wandering on this desolate island, Lester felt increasingly uneasy.
Azkaban prison was located right in the center of this small island, surrounded by hundreds of Dementors. In just a few hundred meters, he had already brushed past dozens of them. If he hadn't been in an invisible state, his soul would have likely been devoured by the Dementors long ago.
"I found it." Finally, Lester's eyes brightened; he had discovered a location where he could recklessly experiment with the spell of blue flames.
A bottomless cave!
Considering the numerous strange giant stones on the island where Azkaban was situated, it wasn't unreasonable for there to be a cave formed by these stones, right?
Without hesitation, Lester entered, noticing that the cave was pitch black, and couldn't help but smile in satisfaction.
The darker, the better; anyway, he could also use the Protego Diabolica while invisible.
If an Auror happened to patrol by and saw a ball of blue flames floating in the pitch-black cave, it would undoubtedly terrify them.
That would mean a significant amount of fear value gained!
"Protego Diabolica!" In the pitch-black cave, Lester slowly raised his right hand, his lips moving as he recited the incantation.
In an instant, a flicker of blue flame appeared out of thin air on Lester's right hand. The scorching heat spread through the surrounding air, and a terrifying aura filled the entire cave.
The originally pitch-black cave, where one couldn't see their hand in front of their face, immediately became incredibly bright under the illumination of this blue flame.
The mesmerizing blue flame, under Lester's control, danced up and down in the cave like a blue sprite, joyfully twirling around. Unfortunately, this was all a scene visible only to Lester.
At that moment, a Dementor that had been resting in the pitch-black cave, upon seeing the suddenly appearing blue fire in the air like a ghost, felt as if its entire soul was about to be scared out of it.
Clearly, it had been sleeping soundly in the cave, and upon waking, it was confronted with a soul-consuming evil fire bouncing in front of it—who wouldn't be frightened? Moreover, this flame was incredibly sinister, like a hellish fire, making the Dementor feel extremely tense.
Indeed, in Lester's eyes, this blue fire was like a servant; he could control it however he wished with just a thought. Thus, to him, this blue fire was harmless.
However, in the eyes of others, the situation was entirely different. The moment the blue fire appeared in the cave, the previously calm Dementor was instantly covered in goosebumps.
As a Dementor, it was a dark creature that should not fear such dark fire. Yet this particular blue fire seemed a bit different from the others. It emanated a sense of Crisis.
"Damn." Just as the Dementor cowered in the corner of the cave, Lester, who was controlling the blue flame's dance, also noticed the 'uninvited guest' in the cave.
Immediately, a cold light flashed in Lester's eyes.
Naturally, Lester had no affection for Dementors, creatures that fed on humans.
Now that he was practicing the Protego Diabolica spell, and this Dementor had conveniently appeared, he didn't intend to show any kindness to it, as that creature wouldn't have spared him either.
"Kick that thing's ass!" With a thought, the blue flame, which had been floating chaotically in the air, immediately halted, as if it had received an order, and flew straight towards the Dementor in the corner.
With the intent to engulf the dark creature whole, the flame transformed mid-air into a dragon, lunging fiercely at the Dementor.

TL/N: Although I used the Protego Diabolica spell, since it mentioned Grindelwald (it's also a Shield Charm); however, there was a mention of Fiendfyre in this chapter, so there's a chance I may edit it in a later chapter if Fiendfyre keeps appearing.
