Morning After

-Nara-

That morning I woke up wrapped in warm blue feathers.

I sat up and immediately noticed a delicious smell coming from the front room of my apartment. The next thing I noticed was that Evelyn was sitting next to me and softly stroking my ears.

"I made breakfast," She said softly. "I'd guessed you would smell it. Your nose was twitching adorably."

"It smells amazing," I told her, blushing at her comments.

"Let's go have some," She suggested, sweeping me up into her arms. She carried me out into the front room, where two bowls were sitting on the table.

We sat down and I picked up the spoon resting next to the table. The bowl contained a steamy broth as well as an assortment of chopped vegetables.

I dipped my spoon into the soup and scooped up some broth and some vegetables before lifting it up to my mouth.

It was mind-blowingly delicious. The broth had a deep, rich flavor and the slightest hint of spices accenting it. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and added just the right elements to create one of the best dishes I'd ever eaten.

"Sho good!" I exclaimed.

"I'm glad you like it," Evelyn said. "My family's cook made it for me when I was a baby."

We ate the rest of the soup relatively quickly. After we were done, we sat down on the couch next to each other. I leaned into Evelyn's body while she wrapped her wings around me.

"So, there's a few things you should probably know about me," Evelyn said after a few minutes.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, I have six Essence Bond Bases," Evelyn told me.

"Oh..." I said. "That explains some things." Most notably why she had more than one partner. "But six? Wow, that's really impressive."

"Yeah," She sighed. "And the other thing is that I'm Blessed."

"That's so cool!" I nearly shouted, perking up. "What was your world called?"

"Earth," Evelyn replied. "There's no magic there. I don't remember a lot. But anyways. I wanted to tell you those things before things between us got any more serious than they already are."

"Thanks for telling me," I said, snuggling into her side again.

"So, I was thinking we could go to a class together today," Evelyn suggested. "You up for it? Scarlet and Kathyrine would come too."

"Sure," I said. "Let's get ready."

-Evelyn-

Nara was so adorable. All the ways she reacted to things I did made my heart flutter, as if she were a real puppy.

And she was kind of similar to Kathyrine too. They were almost like opposites, now that I thought about it.

I digress.

We were going to go to the apartment I shared with Scarlet and Kathyrine to meet up with them before deciding what class to go to.

Nara and I began our walk through the school, chatting as we went. She was incredibly curious about Earth, and its non-magical technology. She was fascinated by it, and it made her ears twitch adorably.

When we reached the apartment, Scarlet and Kathyrine were awake, although the latter was still waking up.

"Good morning," I said.

"Evelyn!" Scarlet cried, rushing over to me and pulling me into a hug. "How'd it go?" She saw Nara behind me and answered her own question. "Good, I see."

"Hi," The shy wolfkin murmured.

"Aw, come here," Scarlet said. Her tail curled out and pulled Nara into a hug.

"Wha-!" She yelped as Scarlet's ample bosom smooshed against her face.

"Nice isn't it?" I asked her, leaning against Scarlet as well.

"No fair," Kathyrine complained from the couch. "I want hugs too!"

I smiled and pulled away from Scarlet before dashing over to the half-asleep catkin and sweeping her into my arms. She made a soft purring sound as she wrapped her arms around me.

"So, I was thinking about trying a new class today," I said. "What do we think?"

"I heard that there's a newer class that was started this semester that sounds fun," Scarlet suggested. "It's a music class."

"I like music!" Nara exclaimed. "Let's do it!"

"That sounds nice," Kathyrine said.

"Alright, it's decided then," I announced. "Off we go to music class!"
