The Harmony of Yin and Yang Is Not as It Seems PART1(24)
“…I’m not interested in sunbae Tae Young-won, you know?”
“Huh?”
Tae Young-won is a popular person in the Business Administration department. Due to Tae Young-won’s teasing just now, Mo Yeon unconsciously became tense, worried that she might have noticed something.
“No, that’s not what I meant! What’s with you, you’re really funny.”
Kim Na-eun burst into strange laughter and slapped Mo Yeon’s arm with her palm, though it wasn’t clear what she found so amusing.
Mo Yeon looked back at Tae Young-won with a still puzzled expression. That handsome face was still being photographed. He couldn’t understand what she was referring to if not Tae Young-won. After all, Mo Yeon’s greatest interest these days, among his few interests, was only the overflowing yang energy from Tae Young-won.
During the weekend they spent together mixing bodies, Mo Yeon was exhausted to the point of death, but once the physical strain ended, he could feel his condition improve better than ever before. The effect was far greater than when he had been stealing yang energy.
Even yesterday, when he almost made eye contact with a ghost during his part-time job, the ghost showed no interest in Mo Yeon.
It was a ghost whose facial features had completely disappeared except for the eyeballs, presumably from wandering around for a long time. It seemed to have an attitude like, “How could such an ordinary human possibly see me?” Mo Yeon recalled how it casually rolled its eyeballs elsewhere.
Yet while his own life had changed so much, Tae Young-won didn’t seem to be affected at all by having his yang energy taken. In fact, Mo Yeon had checked that first thing when he saw him just now.
‘Sunbae hasn’t changed at all.’
Fortunately, Tae Young-won wasn’t someone who had lost his yang energy; he just looked perfect. Was it an illusion? If anything, his face seemed even smoother and better…
As if the photoshoot had just ended, Tae Young-won was also approaching them. While Mo Yeon kept staring in that direction, Kim Na-eun, thinking he was contemplating something, waited quietly.
“So, what do you think? If you don’t like appearing in front of people, we can’t force you… but take your time to think about it. We’re always looking for people every month. Oh, should I just give you my number for now?”
“…”
“Right! I have a business card too. I just had these made and haven’t even given them to my friends yet… Oh, I must have left them in the press room. Or would you like to enter your number for me?”
Mo Yeon found himself taking the phone from Kim Na-eun. Though he still had no idea what her purpose was, he slowly entered his number since she asked him to.
“Na-eun, are you giving your number to Mo Yeon now?”
“Oh? Sunbae! Good work today.”
At that moment, Tae Young-won, who had approached, joined the conversation. He nodded at Kim Na-eun’s greeting but stared intently at Mo Yeon.
“Don’t tell me Mo Yeon asked for it?”
Kim Na-eun, who had taken back her phone from Mo Yeon, quickly waved her hands.
“Ah, sunbae, it’s not like that! It’s just… you know we’re short on models for next month too.”
“Ah.”
He let out a short exclamation and smirked.
“As expected, Na-eun has a good eye.”
He glanced down at Mo Yeon and reached towards his face. Thinking he was trying to take off his glasses, Mo Yeon instinctively slapped his hand away. Then he realized belatedly. He thought Tae Young-won was trying to remove his glasses, but he wasn’t wearing any at the moment.
“Our Mo Yeon can be quite cute when you look at him.”
While Kim Na-eun flinched in surprise, Tae Young-won grinned as if he had expected it.
“And he has no manners at all.”
Tae Young-won, who had tried to touch his cheek and got his hand slapped away, reached out again. In the end, Mo Yeon had to let Tae Young-won pinch his cheek in front of others. Under the long bangs that partially covered his eyes, one white cheek was stretched out as it was pinched.
And Mo Yeon felt the illusion that Tae Young-won’s hand was applying a bit more force than last time.
‘…It hurts a bit?’
Considering Tae Young-won’s facade of putting on airs, Mo Yeon endured it quietly, but as he stayed still, it started to hurt slightly.
As Mo Yeon glared at him with his cheek still stretched, Tae Young-won grinned. Then he massaged the pinched cheek with his hand, pinching it even more painfully.
“What do you think, Na-eun? Isn’t Mo Yeon cute?”
“Oh, yes, a little…?”
Kim Na-eun observed the two with a slightly dubious expression, but when Mo Yeon smiled, she showed a look of admiration.
“I wasn’t sure when I just heard about it. Yeon-i is, how should I put it? The type to go his own way… But you two seem really close.”
“Yeah, we’ve gotten really close. Especially this weekend.”
Mo Yeon began to feel that something was going wrong.
“But Yeon-i… did you perhaps forget about that?”
Although he was still smiling warmly and kindly, Mo Yeon could tell.
Just then, a voice calling for Kim Na-eun was heard from afar. Mo Yeon found himself looking at Kim Na-eun with eyes that didn’t want her to leave. But his eyes, hidden behind his hair, didn’t reach her.
“You really worked hard today, oppa. I’ll treat you to coffee for real! Yeon-i, I’ll contact you later. Take care!”
After Kim Na-eun left, Tae Young-won grabbed Mo Yeon’s arm and led him in the opposite direction. He was walking quite briskly. There might have been other students who knew the two among the group, as murmurs of “They really made up, huh?” and “What an odd combination no matter when you see them” could be heard.
Meanwhile, Mo Yeon had no choice but to quietly show his back to them, not knowing where Tae Young-won was taking him. Heading towards a less populated smoking area on campus, he surprisingly didn’t light a cigarette but went to a vending machine.
“Did you decide not to wear glasses anymore?”
“That’s… Ah!”
Something cold touched his cheek. Tae Young-won had pressed a can against Mo Yeon’s cheek.
Always covered and with a gloomy, shaded face, it was particularly vulnerable to sunlight. Mo Yeon’s cheeks were slightly flushed from the heat under the sun while waiting for his photoshoot to end.
Mo Yeon dazedly took the can that was touching his face. Tae Young-won, who removed his hand with a grin, muttered softly.
“How long have we been dating for you to give your number to another woman…”
“…”
Tae Young-won was smiling playfully with narrowed eyes and raised corners of his mouth. Once again, Mo Yeon was unsure whether Tae Young-won was truly displeased or not.
“Do you have time today? We need to work on our assignment too.”
“Um… I have a class in 20 minutes, and then an hour-long break after that.”
But Tae Young-won, whom he met after three days, unexpectedly talked about the assignment first to Mo Yeon.
“Come to think of it, we really need to start preparing now. There’s only a month left until the final exams…”
“Right.”
The presentation that Mo Yeon had forgotten about while being apart from Tae Young-won and focused on the yang energy issue came back to its place, which was definitely welcome news for Mo Yeon. At the same time, it was also somewhat reassuring.
After all, it meant there was one more thing the two of them needed to focus on for the time being.
Mo Yeon also found it easier to receive yang energy while working on assignments like before, rather than doing something physical whenever possible.
“…What are you looking at so intently?”
But Tae Young-won had been looking elsewhere for a while now.
They were currently in front of a building where not many people passed by, but a group of five or six students happened to be coming this way.
Tae Young-won looked at Mo Yeon and grinned, then turned his head again.
‘What’s going on?’
Mo Yeon felt a bit strange watching Tae Young-won like this.
From bringing up the assignment that even he had forgotten about just now, to how he had been acting throughout the photoshoot, Tae Young-won had been normal all day today.
Maybe that’s why he felt something new. It was as if everything that happened over the weekend was a dream, and the strange person who had tormented him before was disappearing like an illusion…
“They’re gone.”
Huh?
Now there was no one but them behind the building. As if he had been waiting for this, Tae Young-won suddenly came closer and pressed his body against Mo Yeon’s.
“If it’s hard to make time during the day, show me quickly now while no one’s around. I couldn’t see yesterday, so I need to see even for a moment today.”
“What…?”
“Hurry, Mo Yeon… Do you want to see me go crazy?”
Mo Yeon’s eyes shook violently.
“What, what do you mean…?”
“Are you asking because you don’t know?”
His voice sounded very impatient as he subtly grabbed Mo Yeon’s arm while pressing him against the wall. Mo Yeon was flustered by the unexpected situation.
“I thought I’d get to see it, but I couldn’t, and now it’s all I can think about. Even during the photoshoot earlier, all I could think about was Mo Yeon’s white skin. I can’t hold back anymore, Mo Yeon.”
“You want me to show you right here, right now? Just endure it!”
“Mo Yeon, what do you think this is about? It’s all because I should have seen it yesterday but couldn’t, right?”
Uh…
Mo Yeon flinched. It was undeniably his fault for breaking the promise yesterday.
“Becoming my lover but forgetting promises and not answering calls, and even giving out your number freely when you don’t even have hair…”
His face as he trailed off looked genuinely disappointed. Mo Yeon really hadn’t thought that he would take yesterday’s incident so seriously.
“No, but still…”
“If you show me for just one second, I’ll imagine the rest on my own.”
Tae Young-won didn’t miss Mo Yeon’s wavering. As his eyes shook, Tae Young-won’s hand gripping his arm tightened as if to express his impatience. Mo Yeon hesitated for a moment, then quietly asked.
“Will one second be enough?”
