The Harmony of Yin and Yang Is Not as It Seems PART1(8)
“Shall I drop you off here?”
The driver asked in a tired voice. Mo Yeon snapped back to reality and replied.
“…Yes.”
Mo Yeon steadied his shaky breath. The ghost’s attention was already on him. It would probably follow him when he got off, so the driver’s complexion would brighten again by tonight at the earliest, or tomorrow at the latest.
There would be no mysterious traffic accident either.
Today, Mo Yeon had unintentionally been doing favors for several people.
Despite being on the border between life and death himself.
‘This is truly unbearable.’
This sickeningly familiar scene never becomes something he can be indifferent to.
Even when he’s fine, emotions suddenly surge up every now and then. The world was originally like that. It’s just a little, a little more cruel to him.
Nevertheless.
Mo Yeon took a deep breath, grabbed his bag, and got out of the car. Then he immediately dashed towards the Business School building.
***
In the student lounge of Korea University’s Business School, hushed voices could be heard. Someone opened the door, checked that no one was outside, and quietly spoke.
“Hey, you know that weird kid in our year? The one with the two-syllable name.”
“I know, was it Mo Yeon?”
“Yeah. Seems like he did something wrong to Tae Young-won sunbae.”
“He’s always been rude, hasn’t he? I thought Young-won hyung was looking out for him a bit, but I guess he finally got what was coming to him.”
“I heard about it too. Whatever he did, I heard Young-won say not to call him to drinking parties anymore.”
“Just that? Crazy.”
“He doesn’t come to those things anyway, but still, Young-won said if we’re going to invite him, we should definitely make sure that kid isn’t coming.”
“What’s this, did they really fight?”
Puhaha. Raucous laughter erupted at those words.
“Can those two even fight? If they did, I feel like Tae Young-won sunbae could split the kid’s head in half.”
“Split it? What is he, an apple?”
And just then, Mo Yeon, who happened to visit the student lounge, turned pale upon hearing those words. However, right now, Mo Yeon had a bigger problem in front of his eyes than worrying about getting his head split by Tae Young-won.
At the busiest class time, the corridor was very quiet except for the voices barely audible from the student lounge.
But from earlier, a face soaked in blood had been glaring at Mo Yeon with long hair hanging down. It was the one that had followed him from the taxi.
“…”
With one side of its head caved in, it was still bleeding from its crushed head. As if to show Mo Yeon, the ghost wailed, spewing blood that seemed like it would never stop.
In fact, there was another reason why Mo Yeon, who usually doesn’t visit the student lounge, came here. He wasn’t even hoping for yang energy.
Just, if Tae Young-won happened to be here, wouldn’t that ghost avoid him and go far away…
There was once a time when he had someone to go to in situations like this.
The person he was looking for wasn’t here, and based on what he just heard, even if he caught Tae Young-won’s eye, his life might not be safe.
His head drooped in despair.
Someone once said that people with big eyes cry a lot in life. Mo Yeon hated his eyes to the point of disgust in that regard.
“…Hic.”
No matter how much he pulled his sleeve cuff to rub his eyes, once wet, they wouldn’t dry easily.
It was miserable and hopeless.
As midterms were ending, the bars near the university district were packed with students everywhere.
The noisiest table, belonging to the Business Department, was so loud that one’s ears would ring even after leaving. The reason for their excitement was none other than Tae Young-won.
He, who rarely stayed long at drinking parties and never drank alcohol, had recently started drinking with his classmates, juniors, and seniors more often.
As the drinking party heated up, people were getting drunk one by one. Tae Young-won, who had been watching this while remaining sober alone, quietly slipped out of the bar.
He entered an alley and lit a cigarette. Smoke like a sigh dispersed under the dim streetlight. He looked like he had something serious on his mind.
“Huh? What’s this. Young-won, did you come out for a smoke too? You should’ve said something, man.”
An unwelcome guest staggered out and approached. Park Hyung-su, who stood in front of him, rummaged through his pockets and sighed. His cigarette pack was completely empty.
“Ah shit… Give me one too.”
He speaks with slurred pronunciation and even holds out his hand as if it’s only natural. Tae Young-won stares at it blankly before raising his gaze. Suddenly, curiosity arose.
“You should ask politely.”
Speaking softly, he brushed away the hand extended to him and grabbed Park Hyung-su’s shoulder. With a dazed “Huh?”, he turned the body being dragged towards him and pushed it against the wall.
“What the- Argh, what are you doing!”
When curiosity strikes, he needs to resolve it to feel satisfied. Tae Young-won wasn’t the type to let such moments pass even in normal circumstances. Especially at times like this when he didn’t have to worry about others’ gazes.
He tied Park Hyung-su’s arms behind his back at the waist and pressed down on his shoulder blades.
Due to the fluttering shoulders, the hem of the thin cotton T-shirt he was wearing lifted slightly. Tae Young-won began to carefully examine the struggling back from head to toe.
In other words, his eyes were like those of someone inspecting the quality of meat.
“…”
The short, spiky hair, the thick, dark nape that seemed to have dirt on it, and from the back pressed under his hand, everything felt different. Thick bones and skin, sweat had soaked into the clothes, and perhaps because of that, an unpleasant smell like oil wafted up. It was unmistakably the body of an ordinary man.
Then his gaze moved to the waist where the clothes had risen up. The belly fat created by daily drinking bulged out over the belt. It looked like a lump of white ham.
Fuck.
His mood became uncontrollably miserable and dirty. Without needing to see more, his curiosity was reaching a conclusion he absolutely couldn’t welcome.
“I’m sorry, Young-won! I said I’m sorry! I was wrong! You don’t have to give me a cigarette!”
If he’s like this just seeing the back, he might throw a punch if he sees the front. When he saw the bare skin, he even felt disgusted.
Chewing on a curse, he shifted his gaze to empty space and once again added strength to the hand pressing down.
“Argh!”
Park Hyung-su screamed, flailing at the inexplicable pain.
“Ask once more. Then I’ll let you go.”
“…What?”
Even while subduing someone else’s body in one go, his voice remained unchanged from usual.
“I said, beg prettily. Enough to make me want to listen.”
However, there was still a hint of expectation in his casual expression. Park Hyung-su rolled his eyes and cautiously opened his mouth.
“Please give me just one cigarette, hyung?”
“…”
“No, you don’t have to give me one! Don’t give it! Aaaargh, what’s wrong with you today, really!”
Tae Young-won’s eyes lost interest even more and turned cold.
Neither the resistance nor the pleading was worth watching at all. It seemed like it would be similar even if he brought a hundred guys like Park Hyung-su.
He suddenly released his grip as if doing a favor. Park Hyung-su, finally free, grabbed his own shoulder with a reddened face and complained of pain.
“You psycho bastard, you always act up when you’re bored…”
“Ah, I must be drunk too, I can’t control my strength. I should go home.”
At this somewhat brazen answer, Park Hyung-su just caught his breath without saying much.
“It didn’t hurt that much, did it?”
“…Nah.”
Even while clutching his shoulder, he doesn’t voice any particular protest. Tae Young-won put the cigarette he was smoking back in his mouth and smiled nonchalantly.
“Tell the others I left first. Ji-won was stuck in the bathroom earlier, you should check on him.”
As he was leaving the alley, he was about to pat Park Hyung-su’s shoulder but gave up because he didn’t even want to touch him. From behind, he could hear grumbling about getting in trouble for just speaking to him once.
Looking at this, it doesn’t seem like he’s become gay at all. He just can’t understand why he only reacts to that weird guy. Somehow, his mood had become even dirtier than before drinking.
“At that time, you got hard too, sunbae.”
“…”
“I know everything.”
That shocking moment kept popping up in his mind.
What qualification did he not have?
“You don’t have the right to embarrass me anymore…!”
It took Tae Young-won a full half day to interpret the last words Mo Yeon left that day.
After all, isn’t it too cute an expression for ‘being humiliated by masturbating in front of others as punishment for stalking’?
“…The kid seems to be quite skilled at seducing men.”
No matter how you look at it, the kid’s a bit like that. Tae Young-won muttered with a serious face. The more he thought about it for days, the harder it was to shake off an intolerable displeasure.
