Harem With Venom In Marvel/Dc

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: The Lazarus Pit

Venom is my wife—just kidding, it's Mukdong.

"This is the legacy of the League of Assassins. Cold weapons are more suitable for assassination." A chilling voice echoed through the air. The moment the assassins heard this voice, they all stopped in their tracks.

Venom, however, paid no heed and shot two more in the head. Seeing that the assassins had frozen in place, he lost interest and finally stopped his attack.

He then looked up at the black-haired middle-aged man standing at the mountain peak.

"Ra's al Ghul."

"It is I. What brings you here?"

Ra's al Ghul gazed at Venom with a scrutinizing expression.

"My name is Kino. I've come for you. How about becoming my subordinate?"

Kino revealed his human form. Initially, he had only come to take the Lazarus Pit. But upon seeing Ra's al Ghul, a new idea took root in his mind.

Xi was responsible for overseeing the demons' missions and territory expansion, which currently only required clearing land.

Frank was overwhelmed with work—handling Hell's resource transportation, managing a new company, recruiting retired soldiers…

Even Banner had been roped in to help with various matters.

Coulson had not died yet, meaning he couldn't be used for now.

Thus, Kino set his sights on Ra's al Ghul. The man had both wealth and manpower, and with 700 years of experience, he could handle most affairs. He was an invaluable asset.

Ra's al Ghul's eyes instantly flashed with a murderous intent. In a swift motion, he drew a martial arts blade, its cold gleam reflecting in the dim light.

"You want to take over the League of Assassins? Do you have the skill to back that up?"

Kino watched Ra's al Ghul charge at him and sighed inwardly. Has this guy soaked in the Lazarus Pit so many times that his brain is fried?

However, Ra's al Ghul's so-called seven hundred years of martial arts training was completely useless against Kino.

In just a few moves, Kino sent Ra's al Ghul flying, his body crashing into the snow-covered ground, sending white powder into the air.

Seeing their leader fall, the surrounding assassins did not hesitate. They immediately rushed forward, blades gleaming with deadly intent.

This time, Kino took action himself. Instead of killing them, he controlled his strength precisely, knocking them all unconscious.

"Let's make a deal. Do you have any wishes? I'll fulfill them for you. In exchange, the League of Assassins will belong to me." Kino spoke, his eyes locked onto Ra's al Ghul.

"A wish?" Ra's al Ghul's expression twisted into something maniacal. "My wish is to exterminate humanity and create an ideal world!"

"I see… So, if I give you a world without humans, you'll be able to build a paradise from the ground up. What a coincidence! I have a similar dream," Kino's eyes gleamed, feeling like he had found a kindred spirit.

[A kindred spirit, my ass. You two are completely different.]

"And what if I am? Do you have the power to make it happen?" Ra's al Ghul challenged. While the latter part of Kino's statement seemed off, the first half was intriguing.

"Our deal is simple. I give you a world without humans, and you get to rebuild it as you see fit. In return, the League of Assassins is mine."

As soon as Kino finished speaking, a rune appeared on Ra's al Ghul's palm.

"What is this?"

"A small thing. Don't worry about it. Now, let's head to your new world!"

The moment Kino's words fell, a strange, glowing portal suddenly appeared beneath Ra's al Ghul. Before he could react, he was sucked inside. Kino followed close behind, and in the blink of an eye, both of them disappeared.

Ra's al Ghul felt as if he had merely blinked, and the next moment, he found himself standing at the edge of a volcanic crater. The ground beneath his feet was covered in molten lava, its fiery glow illuminating the surroundings.

In the distance stood a massive black palace, and colossal figures as tall as mountains roamed the land. Wherever they stepped, the lava receded.

The Mountain Demons were clearing the lava.

"This is… Hell!"

Ra's al Ghul couldn't help but exclaim, momentarily dazed. However, his seven hundred years of experience allowed him to regain his composure quickly.

"That's right. A world without humans, just as you wanted. You can now start from scratch and build your ideal paradise. And I also have a dream—transforming Hell into a land of beauty and prosperity."

Kino waved his arms with excitement, as if he could already see the bright future ahead.

Ra's al Ghul twitched. The same dream? If his dream was to start anew, Kino's dream was straight-up starting in Hell.

This guy is even crazier than I am!

"Don't bother trying to resist. Our contract is sealed."

Contract?

Ra's al Ghul looked at his palm. The once dim rune now glowed brightly before disappearing.

All of a sudden, his subconscious desire to kill Kino vanished without a trace. The only thought that remained in his mind was loyalty.

"Master… Who exactly are you?" His voice was now filled with reverence.

"I am the Demon King of this Hell—Kino!"

The Demon King personally came to claim the League of Assassins. Is this an honor? Ra's al Ghul asked himself. The answer was yes.

Faced with such an overwhelming existence, being chosen by him was a fortune beyond measure.

Lowering his head, Ra's al Ghul dropped to one knee and declared, "Master, Ra's al Ghul pledges his loyalty to you!"

Kino and Ra's al Ghul returned to the real world.

The assassins, who had regained consciousness, immediately lunged at Kino with murderous intent, their eyes filled with hostility.

"Stand down! From this moment on, Master is the new leader of the League of Assassins!" Ra's al Ghul's voice rang out like thunder.

The assassins hesitated for a moment but quickly sheathed their weapons. Moving in perfect unison, they knelt on one knee and shouted in unison, "Greetings, Master!"

Kino watched this display and couldn't help but admire Ra's al Ghul. Say what you want about him, but his command over his organization is truly top-notch.

"You should teach Xi a thing or two." Kino turned to Ra's al Ghul.

"Yes, Master." Ra's al Ghul replied obediently. He had now completely devoted himself to Kino.

[Why don't you just learn it yourself?]

"Because I'm lazy." Kino answered without hesitation, sounding perfectly justified.

[…]

"Ra's al Ghul, take me to the Lazarus Pit." Kino ordered without further delay.

Ra's al Ghul nodded and led Kino into the fortress.

The castle's interior was damp and shadowy, its corridors winding and filled with hidden traps.

After navigating the maze-like passageways, they finally reached the underground depths.

Before Kino stood a pool of shimmering blue liquid, its surface rippling with an eerie glow.

However, his attention was drawn to the two people beside it.

A well-built woman carefully scooped a small amount of the pool's water, pouring it over a healing salve before gently applying it to the wounds of a small child sitting before her.

The child's face remained emotionless, not making a sound, as if utterly numb to the pain. It was clear that such wounds were a regular occurrence for him.

The overuse of the Lazarus Pit's waters could drive a person insane. But when used in controlled amounts, it became the greatest healing medicine in the world—perfectly allowing for training to resume the next day.

And the injuries on the child? They had been inflicted by the very woman tending to his wounds.

Quote of the Chapter: "Those who seek power must first learn discipline, or else they will be consumed by their own strength."
