Haikyuu : The Legend

Chapter 2: Épisode 2 :

[ Recruits test at Aoba Johsai. ]

The gymnasium was crowded. The Aoba Johsai players were all there, ready to observe the newcomers. They knew a recruit would be chosen to join the team, but this time it was more than just a test. They heard what Ren say earlier and they wanted to see what was really going on. The excitement was palpable.

Oikawa (standing against the wall with a smirk):

Oikawa : "So, Ren, you're finally going to show us what you can do. I wonder if you'll really manage to surprise me."

Iwaizumi (arms crossed): "Oikawa, it's okay, stop making a show. Let's focus on the recruits. We have to have someone solid."

Hanamaki (with a wink): "I'm curious to see this famous 'genius'. If what you say is true, I'm going to have a lot of fun today."

----

[ On the ground. ]

The recruits lined up, their gazes tense. Ren Takeshi stood among them, observing the other players who seemed hesitant. But he was no longer the uncertain player of the past. No, today he was ready to crush everything.

Coach (turning to the recruits): " The test will be simple. You will go through different stations: reception, service, attack. Each station has an increasing level of difficulty. It's not just a question of power, but precision, agility and creativity Whoever impresses the most in the end will be chosen. "

----

[ The attack station. ]

Ren prepared to take his turn. The coach gave the signal, and the ball flew towards him. Ren took a deep breath, adjusting his position. He rushed forward. What he did next left all observers speechless. Suddenly he rose into the air, his jump almost seeming to defy gravity. His relaxation was spectacular, far beyond what they had seen from the other recruits. Ren touched the ball with disconcerting fluidity, sending a dazzling smash at such speed that Aoba Johsai's team didn't even have time to react.

Oikawa (with a smile of amazement on his face ) : "He's... incredible. This guy is truly a monster."

The test continued and Ren attacked from different angles, lunging with a series of complex movements.

He faked an attack through the middle before abruptly changing direction and sending a perfectly placed ball from an impossible angle. Then he executed a second jump, this time to attack the ball coming from behind, with phenomenal power. The observers were silent, not even knowing how to react. The rookies seemed completely outmatched, and even Aoba Johsai's players were impressed.

Iwaizumi (frowning): "This guy... His attacks... he's strong."

----

Ren headed towards the front of the stadium where he had to do a service. Without hesitation he threw the ball high, gained momentum and jumped very high, then delivered a long and powerful serve, but with pinpoint precision. The ball crashed just behind the baseline, and no one had time to move to recover it.

Hanamaki (laughing slightly): "I think we can already tell it's him, right?"

----

The recruits had all finished, but no one had been able to compete with Ren. He dominated the field. When he turned to the coach, he gave him a confident look. He knew it was the decisive moment.

Coach (after observing all the tests): "That's… impressive. I've never seen a rookie with such strength, such precision, and such great play from different angles. "

Coaches: " Ren Takeshi, you are officially part of Team Aoba Johsai."

----

The players gathered around Ren, visibly impressed, but also a little intrigued. Oikawa, still smiling, stood in front of him.

Oikawa (with a provocative smile): "So, you've been accepted? Are you going to overshadow everyone here?"

Ren (with a confident smile): "If I have to overshadow someone, I'll start with you."

Iwaizumi (shaking his head): "You've got guts, but don't forget that we're the veterans here. Welcome Aoba Johsai. We'll give you a hard time."

Hanamaki (laughing softly): "Oh, he's already funnier than Oikawa. That promises."

Ren looked at them all, his gaze more serious this time, but still with that smirk that made him think of someone who had already seen everything, understood everything.

Ren: "I'm up for the challenge. I'll show you what it's like to be a genius."

The coach, still in the background, observed the exchanges with a satisfied air. He knew that Aoba Johsai had just received an exceptional recruit.

The team would change, but the biggest challenge for Ren Takeshi was just beginning. He was now one of them, but the question was: how would he cope with the pressure of this already formidable team? and how would he fit in with the others?
