Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 84: Chapter 84- Final exams

Hinata woke up and, as usual, went through his training routine, though he felt a bit more anxious than he should have.

"Today's the day of the final exams... it's the most troublesome thing, and it's not something I can solve on my own... it all depends on whether those three idiots can do well," Hinata thought while doing push-ups.

"Alright! But I've done everything I could! I helped everyone without exception. If it still goes wrong... it wasn't meant to be!" Hinata thought out loud as he headed to the bathroom to take a shower. After that, he put on his uniform and went downstairs.

"You're already leaving?" Hana asked.

"Yes! I want to get there a bit earlier today!" Hinata explained why he was leaving a little earlier than usual.

"Today's the final exams, right? Good luck!" Hana said as she hugged Hinata.

"Everything's under control. I've never studied this much for exams before, especially since I had to help my friends," Hinata said with a smile. After leaving his mom's embrace, he grabbed his bike and started pedaling. A few minutes later, he was at Karasuno's gate.

After waiting at the gate for a while, Hinata managed to gather Kageyama, Tanaka, and Nishinoya.

"Alright, guys! Remember, for the questions where you can't use scanning, you'll need to read more carefully and pay attention to the context. The secret is in interpretation!" Hinata said, sounding like a coach giving instructions to his players before a game.

"LET'S ACE THIS TEST!" Nishinoya shouted.

"THAT'S RIGHT! LET'S NAIL IT!" Tanaka joined in, yelling.

"Alright, I'm heading in!" Hinata said as he went to his own classroom. When he got there, he noticed his literature teacher preparing to hand out the test. From what Hinata understood, at Karasuno, you didn't need to be the teacher of the subject to administer the test, but it just so happened that the teacher for today's exams was one of his own.

After some time, the tests were handed out to each student, and Hinata started working on his.

"Hmm... this doesn't seem too hard!" Hinata thought as he worked on the first test. After finishing it, he moved on to the next one, which was literature.

"I knew it! Almost all the questions are about interpretation, and there are very few about memorizing vocabulary! Good thing I told Kageyama what to do. I hope he does well!" Hinata thought as he breezed through the test without any issues. He did the same with the third test. After finishing the third one, Hinata glanced at the clock on the wall and realized there were still thirty minutes left before the end of the test period. So, he leaned over his desk and dozed off until he was woken up by the boy sitting behind him, who tapped his shoulder and seemed to want to pass his test forward.

"We have to pass the tests to the front," the student explained.

"Oh, got it, my bad!" Hinata said as he grabbed the tests and passed them to the person sitting in front of him.

"Alright! The tests will be graded by Friday, and then the supplementary exams will begin," the teacher announced.

"Finally, it's over!" one student said.

"Yeah, I couldn't take it anymore!" another agreed.

After being dismissed, Hinata left the classroom and started thinking about his next steps.

"If I remember correctly... Daichi-san asked us to meet at the gym after the exams!" Hinata thought as he headed toward the volleyball club's gym. When he got there, he found all the third-years and Ukai.

"No sign of them yet?" Hinata asked as he approached.

"No, we're waiting for the rest of them so we can officially announce Yachi-san as our new manager!" Daichi replied.

"I'm glad you actually joined!" Hinata said, looking at Yachi, who was standing next to Kiyoko.

"I'm happy too," Yachi responded.

After a few minutes, the rest of the members started showing up and entering the gym.

"Alright! Now that everyone's here... put on your jackets!" Daichi ordered.

"But it's so hot!" Hinata complained as he put on the Karasuno team jacket.

"It'll be quick," Sugawara said.

"Now that Yachi-san is officially our new manager..." Daichi said as Kiyoko walked over to the girl with a jacket like the ones they were wearing.

"Here, this is yours!" Kiyoko said with a smile.

"READY AND..." Daichi shouted as all the Karasuno players except Tsukishima turned around and showed the backs of their jackets.

"Welcome to the Karasuno High School Volleyball Club!" they all shouted in unison, pointing to their own backs.

"IT'S A PLEASURE!" Yachi thanked them, visibly emotional.

"Alright! The Tokyo matches are almost here. We just need to find out if you guys managed to avoid supplementary classes or not..." Daichi said, his expression now serious.

"I was thinking... we still have classes until Friday, but the exams are over. What are they even going to teach?" Yamaguchi asked.

"Probably the less essential subjects they skipped due to time constraints. Whatever they couldn't cover before, they'll probably do now..." Tsukishima said in a disinterested tone.

"I'M GOING TO USE THIS TIME TO FINISH POKEMON, THANK GOD!" Hinata celebrated.

"Tsk! How can they do this to us? I want to know my grades as soon as possible!" Kageyama complained.

"They need time to grade the tests. Otherwise, only the teacher who teaches that specific class can grade the exams for their subject. That's why they need time!" Sugawara explained.

"We need to distract ourselves! Let's play some volleyball!" Tanaka said excitedly.

"No, no! I want to eat!" Hinata disagreed.

"EAT LATER!" Tanaka retorted.

"It's to celebrate Hitoka-chan joining. Can't you do that? Please..." Kiyoko asked sweetly.

"Fine!" Hinata sighed, giving in.

"ALRIGHT, LET'S GO!" Tanaka shouted.
