chapter 17
17 – Herald of the Gods and Teacher of Heroes
Dianes was a person of interest at present to the extent that Chiron personally brought him and Zeus and Apollo stepped forward to issue an oracle.
Hermes also became interested in hearing the rumors and went around looking around. Surprisingly, among the gods of Olympus, there were many who had a crush on Dianes.
“Pasos, where the child grew up, has been a place of devotion not only to his father, but also to Poseidon and Ares.”
To Poseidon, the beautiful Pasos in the northern Aegean Sea prayed for safe voyages for fishermen and navigators.
And they prayed to Ares, praying for bravery against the many pirates and invasions of other kingdoms.
So the first thing I did was ask the two of them if they knew a child named Dianes from Pasos, and I was able to see a very unexpected response.
“The first person I visited was Poseidon. I sneakily asked if he knew about Dianes of Pasos. Praise after compliment that there is no other guy like him in the world.
Poseidon, God of the Ocean.
The owner of the Agae Sea surrounding Pasos, do you know anything? Hermes was the first subject of investigation.
When he sneakily mentioned Dianes of Pasos, Poseidon made his mouth dry and praised him for his martial arts and attitude of respect to the gods.
“Sometimes, a child dances sword and spear dances on the beach of nymphs, and it seems to have dedicated them to Poseidon.
But the way she dances is elegant and beautiful. Someday, it was said that he would like to invite him to the palace of the deep sea and serve him himself.
Every time I offered the sword dance, Poseidon was also very satisfied, giving me fish or artifacts, and protecting the nymph Nereid, who would be my child’s companion, from harming anyone.”
He even dedicated all the fish and relics he entrusted to the temple of Zeus, and Zeus was envious of him because he had a very promising and pious follower.
It goes without saying how proud the substitute with the dark blue beard was.
“Ohh… Poseidon-sama is admiring his spearmanship…”
Chiron, who pointed the spear directly at him, nodded his head.
A spearmanship technique that seems to have become the wind itself. It was dedicated to the god holding the spear, so how could that heart be proud?
Even though he didn’t take all the gifts he received from the gods to himself, he humbly offered them to the supreme god and once again expressed his gratitude to all the gods.
How proud and pleased such a young and promising follower is to the god of the wild sea.
“And next, Ares. Zeus Oh my God, I’ve never seen him so admirable over a human hero.”
Rough and rugged, Ares, the god of war, is the best in Olympus.
With his fiery temper, he was a god who had numerous accidents even in the same Olympus.
Are you proud of him?
“What happened?”
What naturally comes to mind when you hear the word “Admirable” By Ares, a warlike fighter.
Dianes laughs loudly over the corpses of countless savages.
Heavy-headed wolves, and Dianes dancing over corpses wearing the bloody hides of wild beasts, and so on.
It was natural to think that Ares was proud, but fortunately, Hermes shook his head.
“It is said that he unsparingly offered wild beasts such as wild boars and bears to his brother’s temple.
Not only that, but he wrote a poem praising his older brother and put it on the altar. It is said that he was greatly impressed by this and personally sent a flame in front of the other priests and received it first.
He even boasted about it while carrying it in his arms? That older brother Ares!”
Fortunately, it wasn’t the scene of bloody madness that Chiron thought.
On the contrary, what a moving poem it was to say that Ares was moved by the sacrifice and the poem.
I was curious about it.
“Oh, is that child talented in poetry and prose?”
“Yes, it is a poem in a unique way like never before.
Thanks to this, Ares said that he was grateful for the young child, saying that he had made his name not as an ignorant war-monger, but as a devoted devotee with both literary and military skills.
“Whoa. That’s good.”
Hearing that the newly recruited hero possesses both martial arts and is loved by the gods, Chiron felt both admiration and relief.
How many heroes have tragically ended their lives, hated by the gods because of their own arrogance.
Hercules is also very worried because of his arrogance and birth. Dianes feared the gods and polished himself without any such thing.
“And then… Unsurprisingly, my father took very good care of Dianes.”
“You mean Zeus…?”
While receiving the oracle of a dream and bringing Dianes to the forest, Chiron was always worried that Zeus might not be pleased with the child.
I wondered what would happen if the foreseeable great hero of Gigantomachia, the sprout of a hero comparable to him, was regarded as a thorn in the eye.
Chiron could not hide his surprise at Hermes’ message.
“I mean. I’m thinking about where to go after hearing the story from Poseidon-sama and Ares-hyung.
My father’s eagle took me to him.”
The highest peak of Olympus.
From there, Zeus, who was looking down on all of Greece, secretly told Hermes, who had been called upon, about Dianes, exactly the offerings and rituals dedicated to him.
“Let’s see. My father exclaimed admiration over and over and told me to read it too… Here it is!”
Stumbling around with his arms in the pockets of his waistband, Hermes took out a piece of parchment with poems written on it and handed it to Chiron.
“I read it too, uh huh. When this guy grows up, the 12 gods of Olympus will fight to take him to their temple?”
“Is that enough?”
Carefully unrolling the parchment Hermes gave her, Chiron was surprised once that Zeus admired him so much, and twice that Hermes praised poetry and prose.
And the third time I read all the poems and prose on the parchment. He had to be surprised a third time.
“Huh…. It’s prestigious. And to exalt the Lord in this way…”
To be honest, it was ambiguous to call this a memorial service.
It didn’t follow the standard form of a memorial service in a temple, and the rhyme was also very exotic.
However, the contents were obviously very appropriate to move Zeus’ heart.
“I sat on a lofty throne, but I held in my arms the child abandoned by the mother and forgotten by the father.
Even if the golden throne is soiled with mud feet and the white robe is stained with hands, it is just precious.
He smiles, for he is the Father of all ages.
Be respected, our father.
The one who reigns over everything. For the sake of his beloved companion, he just smiles at the insults and disrespectful names of the wuzi.
He blesses the unfaithful child for being his own flesh and blood, and even loves his companion’s business and insults him instead.
You endure, because you are holy love.
Be worshipped, love of all people.”
Perhaps it was memorized, the poem Hermes recited calmly must have moved the heart of Zeus.
Even as Heracles, he was scolded by Hera and was not dignified by the Greeks because of his wish.
If an orphan in his own temple offered these poems and sacrifices, he would have been moved.
“Even Hera, who received it, asked me.
I wonder if this is the reason Father raised orphans in his temple and declared them his sons and daughters?”
Thanks to that, after today’s meeting, the couple’s temple of Zeus and Hera, which I sneak peeked at, is said to have been peaceful for the first time in a long time.
“I see. I didn’t think much of it…. The orphans who were born through adultery or infidelity are, in a way, those who were born in denial of God’s profession.”
“My father embraced and protected all of these orphans as they were his own children, and endured that insult.
Keuuu, how can a young fellow be so thoughtful! Thanks to that, Iris-sama and I, who were dying between the two of you, can breathe.”
Hermes was exaggeratedly joking, but he probably meant it when he said that he took a breath.
When Zeus and Hera fought, it was Hermes, the messenger of Zeus, and Iris, the messenger of Hera, who always died between them.
Every time that happened, it was Chiron who listened to their complaints late in the morning.
I can only understand that feeling.
“Anyway, on the whole, public opinion in Olympus is mostly very favorable to our new hero.”
Hermes came to a conclusion with a refreshing smile. Seeing this, Chiron also nodded.
However, the information he wanted did not come out.
“…Didn’t you find out anything about his birth?”
“Oh no… that’s embarrassingly true”
Hermes, who travels around the world in one day and says there’s nothing he doesn’t know.
Even he hardened his face, saying he couldn’t know anything about Dianes’ birth.
“I have visited all the people who have a similar atmosphere to that child, the gods and spirits who have visited Pasos Island for the past ten years, and even the strange beings. Everyone shook their heads.
You all didn’t even lie.”
“That, such a hard work… Thank you for your hard work”
“No, I was curious too, so you don’t have to worry”
Hermes, who was shaking his hand, looked embarrassed as nothing came out.
If he reacts like this, he really has no clue.
In that case… By any chance?
“That, Mr. Chiron?”
“Why is that?”
Hermes swept his head up in the air with a slightly worried face and looked at him with concern.
“This may sound a little funny, but seeing that my father pays attention and pays attention.
Perhaps that child is a child with bigger people involved than we think.”
“The bigger ones?”
“Shh! Be careful. They exist and do not exist.
Even their father Zeus is feared and feared by them.”
Those whom even Zeus, the god, fears, and Hermes does not know more about.
There was only one such person.
The first gods, beings who are heaven and earth, death and darkness themselves.
Dianes is a child related to them?
“I can’t believe it… I can’t believe it…”
Then Dianes was more than just a human hero.
He hasn’t yet been honored or given a job, but if he’s really their child…
It was something that could turn the whole world upside down.
“It’s still, so far, just a prediction… I hope you leave your predictions as just predictions, Mr. Chiron.”
“Oh, I see”
“You don’t know. As the child said, it might be from the Hyperboleio clan beyond Olympus.”
To evoke the frozen atmosphere, Hermes trembled with humor, and Chiron also nodded his head with difficulty matching the rhythm.
“Then… I’m done! Hades-sama also contacted me saying that the coast of Charon is full.”
“Oops, don’t you want to see your sons?”
“hahahaha, I came to see you so many times that you scolded my father for not being busy. Enough!”
-Ahahahaha!
With only a pleasant laugh left behind, Hermes disappeared in an instant.
“…Whoa. This is it.”
Hermes disappeared like the wind, Chiron only brushed his beard down in a complicated state of mind at the suspicion he left behind.
