Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 445: Underworld Venerate Disappears

Actually, Sun Wukong's injuries were not severe and were merely superficial. Ye Zi quickly initiated a recovery with her own life force, and Sun Wukong's wounds healed in no time. When Ye Zi heard Sun Wukong's low murmur, there was only one sentence that stuck out to her: "How could it be him!" Although Ye Zi heard this, she didn't understand its meaning and was thus unable to offer any comfort. Even though Sun Wukong's wounds had healed, his expression seemed as if he had received a severe blow, his gaze somewhat vacant. Fortunately, there were only Ling Weiyang and White Emperor as their enemies; otherwise, with Sun Wukong in this state, likely any Nine Patterns Supreme could kill him with ease.

At present, over a hundred miles north of the massive serpent's body, Sha Wujing stood alone, carrying the Sky-flipping Crescent Spade on his right shoulder as if waiting for someone. Soon, a shadowy figure hurried from the north and had to stop upon seeing Sha Wujing standing in his way, thus descending from the sky. That person was Yao Wumeng from the Myriad Demons Country.

Following the massive explosion at the Annihilation Palace, Ling Weiyang and Bai Zhaoju brought people to investigate. Eventually, Ling Weiyang discovered that the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent possessed Evolution power, so he stayed behind with only Bai Zhaoju, ordering everyone else to return to the Myriad Demons Palace to recover from their injuries. Yao Wumeng had been guarding the Myriad Demons Palace all along. Hearing that Ling Weiyang and Bai Zhaoju had stayed behind alone, he felt uneasy and hurried over immediately.

Of course, the biggest reason was that Ling Weiyang had specifically instructed his subordinates to call Yao Wumeng over. The Evolution power possessed by the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent was an incomparable treasure for these peak experts. Naturally, Ling Weiyang wouldn't enjoy it alone. If it weren't for the Five Demon Gods being out on a mission, Ling Weiyang would likely have called them over too. As for Long Tian of the Myriad Demons Country, he remained to guard the Myriad Demons Palace. Although Ling Weiyang was certain that the Netherworld Alliance Army had been killed in the explosion, he believed in the saying, "better safe than sorry," so he kept a powerful expert there just in case.

It was also because he believed that most of the Netherworld Alliance's combat power had been killed in the explosion that he dared to stay behind with only Bai Zhaoju. Ling Weiyang himself was not feeling well either, as there was a collaborator of his within the Netherworld World, a supposed undercover agent known to the public. This person was not only very close to him but also involved in many plans with him. Now that this person might have died before accomplishing their goal, how could Ling Weiyang not feel sorrow?

So while training here with Bai Zhaoju, he was also waiting for a miracle. Despite the terror of the massive explosion, he always felt that that person hadn't died. As long as he was alive, even if all the people of the Myriad Demons Country were dead, he wouldn't feel too sad. In fact, what he should be doing now was not cultivating here but searching for that person. However, in Ling Weiyang's heart, a true Supreme wouldn't die so easily, and if they did, it would merely show that the person was not as exceptional as they seemed.

But what Ling Weiyang did not expect was that before that person could reappear, Sun Wukong led several unfamiliar powerhouses into the scene. Although the opposition was numerous, Ling Weiyang was not afraid, hence he and Bai Zhaoju, far from fleeing, were prepared for a direct confrontation. In Ling Weiyang's mind, the words 'run away' didn't exist. No matter how strong the opponent or how large their numbers, the only option was to fight.

When Sun Wukong and others arrived, Sun Wukong first used his Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes to scout their surroundings, and immediately noticed Ling Weiyang and Bai Zhaoju on the giant serpent. Then he saw someone swiftly approaching from eight hundred miles away and quickly recognized that person as Yao Wumeng. Sun Wukong was determined to kill Yao Wumeng, so upon seeing that Yao Wumeng was alone, he sent Sha Wujing to intercept and kill him on the spot. With Sha Wujing wielding the World Suppressing Stele, killing Yao Wumeng should not be too difficult.

Thus, the current standoff ensued: Yao Wumeng was intercepted by Sha Wujing a hundred miles from the serpent's location. Seeing Yao Wumeng land, Sha Wujing pointed the Crescent Spade at him and asked, "Are you Yao Wumeng?" Despite being prideful and knowing this man was an enemy, Yao Wumeng nodded in acknowledgment. Then, Sha Wujing directly unleashed a ranged attack with his Crescent Spade right towards Yao Wumeng.

In an instant, a crescent spade made entirely of the Water Element materialized out of nowhere, sweeping directly towards Yao Wumeng. Sha Wujing's attack was unexpected; normally, Yao Wumeng should have inquired about his name first, but Sha Wujing was not concerned with such formalities. Having confirmed the identity of his opponent, he struck without further ado. Although Yao Wumeng was slightly caught off guard, he reacted quickly, drawing out the blood-red Fenji from in front of his chest. Blood light immediately whirled around Fenji as he swung it down.

A fiery sword light in the shape of a crescent moon collided with Sha Wujing's Water Element crescent spade, triggering a loud explosion. Water and fire are inherently incompatible, and in terms of the Elements, water suppresses fire. Consequently, Yao Wumeng suffered a slight disadvantage in the strike, but since it was clearly a probing attack, he wasn't severely affected.

Sha Wujing immediately stripped off his monk's robe down to halfway on one arm, then bellowed, "Big Brother, Old Sha is going to catch the demon!" With a stamp of his right foot on the ground, the whole area within a thirty-mile radius instantly turned into a swamp. However, Sha Wujing strode across it as if it were flat land, heading straight toward Yao Wumeng. Yao Wumeng, feeling something amiss under his feet, had already leaped into the air. He wasn't stupid; being of the Fire Attribute himself, he knew if he continued to stand on the swamp his opponent had created, he would definitely be at a disadvantage.

Yet, Yao Wumeng knew that today's battle was unavoidable and that even if he fled this area, it would be useless. It seemed that his opponent was extremely adept at controlling water, and not just ordinary water at that. A single stomp could turn the land into a swamp; it was bound to be a tough fight today.

During his reflection, Yao Wumeng's left hand reached into the void, and the Tyrant Sword Juque appeared. By then, Sha Wujing had already charged over with his Sky-flipping Crescent Spade, which was now completely enveloped by the Water Element, and Sha Wujing's body was also cloaked in a watery gleam. As the spade struck down, Yao Wumeng was caught off guard. He blocked the blow with the Tyrant Sword horizontally in front of him, but then a water dragon burst forth from the crescent spade. Unprepared, Yao Wumeng was struck by the water dragon and sent flying backward,

"Heh heh, let's see who dares to call me dumb in the future!"

Dragon Emperor was battling Ling Weiyang, with Wu Ming and Hei Kui joining forces against Bai Zhaoju. Dragon Emperor was at a slight disadvantage due to his weapon, whereas the combined might of Wu Ming and Hei Kui gave them the upper hand. Sun Wukong was still slumped on the ground, his expression dim. Ye Zi, Ming Tiekuang, and Hidden Mountain stood guard beside him, but they too were at a loss on how to aid Sun Wukong. Meanwhile, Sha Wujing, fighting miles away against Yao Wumeng, also held the upper hand due to his elemental advantage.

It seemed that the final decisive battle of the Patrolling Celestial World's trial was unfolding among these individuals. However, this was very disadvantageous for Ling Weiyang's side. If Ling Weiyang were to fall in battle, the Demon Nation would be headless, essentially spelling their doom. But if Sun Wukong were to die, the Netherworld Alliance would merely lose a strong combat power, yet they would still possess enough strength to seize the ultimate victory. Elsewhere, in the large cave that served as the stronghold of the Underworld God Army, the battle was just as fierce.

Rogue Heart Sword Hero, with his Light Attribute and mastery of spatial abilities, single-handedly withstood the onslaught of over a hundred Underworld God soldiers. Now, less than ninety of those hundred soldiers remained in combat, whereas previously Rogue Heart Sword Hero's opponents were the Flame Puppets of the Underworld God Army. However, now he faced the ordinary soldiers of the Underworld God Army. The Flame Puppets, in turn, were all attacking the Flame God. Yes, Rogue Heart Sword Hero and Flame God had swapped opponents. Rogue Heart Sword Hero, despite his strength, felt quite helpless against these virtually immortal monstrosities, especially since the Flame Puppets were untouchable; he could only attack with Sword Qi, which also severely drained him.

Therefore, they eventually switched opponents. As for the Flame God's battle, well, it had become completely one-sided. Of course, don't misunderstand, it was not the Flame God who was being overpowered, but the Flame Puppets. The Flame God simply crouched on the ground, clutching his head, letting the Underworld God soldiers' blades and fists fall upon him. Far from howling in pain, if one could see his expression, even Dao Zhun might be tempted to give him a kick. For although the Flame God seemed to be in a dire state under the relentless assault, he wore a lascivious grin, and his lips hummed, "Mmm, that's right, more, right there, go hard, so useless, ah, yes, this time there's much more force, well done. Oh, oh, keep going, keep going."

It was just that Dao Zhun was too busy at the moment; otherwise, hearing this, he would probably have already taken Flame God back, as this man was simply a disgrace.

Dao Zhun was not idle either. When he had previously tried to pull the Underworld God into his Mystic Space, he discovered that the Underworld Venerate was actually secured to the ground with countless chains. And now, Dao Zhun had finally broken all the chains. Glancing at the few who were still fighting, Dao Zhun patted the body of the gigantic Underworld Venerate, which spanned ten thousand meters in height, and just like that, he disappeared!

Then, the captains of the Underworld God Army went completely berserk. (To be continued.
