Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1254: Part 2: I almost fell into a trap

From the MC's Perspective:

I came to the border. There are wandering wizards, and customers are going to the wilderness through the gate. Most of them are in groups. Seeing them, my eyes flashed with curiosity.

This will be the first time for me to use this route. I remember the old enemy, the Transmutation Wizard, used this route to enter Verdant City back then.

Then I started walking towards them. There are more gates, each of them having queues for entry and exit. I stood behind the line for exit.

Time passed.

One by one, people exited through the gate. When it was my turn, the guard asked for my I.D. Then I showed him my Digital I.D.

Seeing that I was from the Special Mage Department, his pupils shrank. He quickly recovered his expression and allowed me to leave.

I saw through his thoughts. He seemed to believe that I was on an undercover mission. I couldn't help but smile.

After following the people exiting, I finally set foot in the wilderness. This is the first time for me to leave the territory on foot.

Last time, I traveled using the Black Airship. This time it's going to be personal travel. I started moving forward.

Not long after, I couldn't help but frown. Those who exited along with me disappeared into the wilderness. As if they were escaping from some kind of terror, a confusion appeared in my heart.

Then I thought of something important. I took the mask and wore it on my face.

I continued walking.

Meanwhile,

Aaron Perry arrives at Verdant City as well. He then immediately uses his identity to enter the wilderness directly. It won't be long before he catches up to Vincent Carey.

If not for Lord Rhys, he would have used this opportunity to kill Vincent Carey directly. But Lord Rhys had given him strict orders. He was not allowed to kill Vincent Carey.

His task was to watch over him. If he tried to do something else, then he could subdue him using his power and bring him over to Lord Rhys.

Aaron even had the thought of attacking Vincent Carey directly and then bringing him later. His eyes flashed with a cruel glint thinking about it.

About 10 minutes later,

[Ding! Warning!]

[A hostile wizard is nearing the Host]

[Identity recognized: Aaron Perry]

The mechanical voice sounded in my mind.

I felt goosebumps all over my body. My brain quickly sprinted to find a solution. I came to the huge tree in front of me. I crouched down to enter the overgrown bushes covering the tree.

Swoosh!

The next second, I vanished from the spot and appeared in Gregor Mansion. In the middle of the hall, I gasped for breath.

The system warning had sent shivers through me. How come he was here? Did he see me leaving the city? I smacked my face lightly.

I should have worn the mask earlier. If he had seen me, then it's highly likely that he followed me to kill me.

After calming my heart, I was at ease. Then I entered the control room to see the mirror.

Outside,

"Hmm, there was no one here," Aaron Perry muttered while standing under the huge tree.

Just now, he spotted a figure entering this place. He thought he caught a glimpse of Vincent Carey. But no one was here.

"Was it my imagination?"

"Hmmm, I'm getting annoyed under this hot sunlight," he said to himself.

"I better go and find him. Then skin his flesh before handing him over to Lord Rhys. He must be waiting for us at the old town," Aaron said to himself with a grin.

But he didn't know someone else heard his words.

Swoosh!

He then disappeared from the spot and started moving ahead.

In Gregor Mansion, I wiped the cold sweat from my forehead. I heard all of his mumbling. So he did see me. The system covers the mana breath. No one can sense me unless someone sees me directly; they can find my location.

Then I sat back in the chair and muttered, "So this was all a trap? He knows my plan, so he followed me."

Who is Lord Rhys?

Was he the one who sent me the Black Token?

According to Aaron Perry, that person is waiting at the old town. Aaron even mentioned "us." There was no mistake; I was so close to falling into their trap.

The system has saved me once again. What a cunning family the Perrys are! They even used a precious Space Wizard family token to lure me out.

I should return to the camps and try to find out the identity of Lord Rhys. He should be a wizard invited by the Perry Family to capture me.

After pushing down these thoughts, I looked at the control mirror again. I didn't know whether he had left. He should have gone further by now.

I should use this opportunity to leave right away. He can't sense my presence because of the system.

Swoosh!

I appeared outside. Without turning back, I used my flight ability to fly close to the ground surface towards the Verdant City border.

Meanwhile,

Aaron Perry felt a headache. He had been moving slowly ever since he left the border. The students saw Vincent Carey leaving through the border gate.

Normally, he should have stopped Vincent Carey by now. But he saw other wanderers who left Verdant City. Discover exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

"Did he use any flying treasure?" Aaron asked himself.

Then he shook his head. Not everyone can afford a flying treasure unless they are rich. Unless Paul Lin gave him some tricks.

"Harumph," he gave a cold snort.

"Let's see where you're going. I'm going to catch you soon," Aaron said to himself.

Because he knew Vincent Carey was going towards the old town. As long as he followed the route, he could catch up to him.

15 minutes later,

I returned to the border gate. But my heart was still not at ease. I walked to the entry gate and saw the line. Seeing that line was huge.

I decided to use my identity to enter directly.
