Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Untrue
The sound of buzzing town is often chaotic, usually no one can decipher or even hear the words others are speaking- " It's not a damn Halloween costume! " Oh. Never mind, then. In the heart of Gravity Falls's town. A chubby man wearing a gray jumpsuit could be strutting angrily with his fists balled.
His breaths were fast and heavy. Sweat poured down his face. Blendin had been tracking down the source of the time rift for countless hours and yet, he's found nothing. Not even a single piece of evidence and worst of all, every single time he passes a group of people at least one of them says something similar to this.
" Hey, man. Nice Halloween costume. Not sure why you are wearing it during the summer though. You look just like Hellboy. "
As soon as Blendin heard this, a vein erupted out of his forehead, as he exhaled loudly and his footsteps began to speed up. He gritted his teeth before mumbling to himself. " How does that even make sense? Calm down, I should find the source of the time rift, in a few. "
Blendin was approaching the source of the time rift, heading toward an elementary school. He took step after step...Until abruptly, he halted and glanced behind him with a puzzled look. Blendin stood motionlessly briefly before looking forward and continuing to walk.
" I swore I felt something glaring at me. " Murmured Blendin. Unbeknownst to him, the odd gaze he felt did come from someone. Trailing behind, was Dale wiggling from building to building slowly following Blendin.
Dale had his back against a brick wall, patiently waiting for Blendin to gain distance from him. The reason Dale was here, was to make sure any differences in the timeline didn't happen, with Blendin showing up early, he was sure something had gone wrong. Obviously, at first, Dale thought Blendin was looking for him, but after trailing him for hours.
It was clear to Dale, that Blendin was not looking for him at all. He was trying to find something else and the answer to both Dale and Blendin's questions was soon to be answered.
Blendin walked past a few trees, before ending up behind an elementary school, stopping directly at a hole that was crudely dug up. Blendin glared into the hole before realizing that the bottom of it was perfectly square, almost like something was previously buried. Blendin could only stare at the hole before he glanced down at his watch and spoke to himself.
" This is the time rift...But it seems like I'm too late to find it. Someone else got to it before I could. "
As an annoyed look covered Blendin's face, creeping behind a tree was Dale also staring at the edge of the hole confused. " That's the time rift? It's just a hole in the ground?"...
As Blendin and Dale stared at the hole in the soil confused, jazz music could be heard rippling through a colorful dimension, filled with various floating translucent objects. These objects hovered aimlessly, something colliding with each other, as the sound of a singing voice abruptly appeared.
" The time is near... Sooner than they could fear...My great escape is here with a drink of beer, the time will smear, and finally, after all these years, I'll be... free. "
Sang Bill Cipher with a map of Gravity Falls appeared in his hand, Bill's singular eyes glanced across the map, oddly on the map, there were hundreds of red dots, showing exactly where everyone in the town was located. Bill's eyes moved across every single dot until he stopped and focused on a singular dot.
This dot began to warp, as Bill's eye dilated and the map shriveled up, developing into a small wormhole. Inside this wormhole, a small stubby child with ice-blond hair could be seen walking around holding onto an odd-looking book.
" Oh, man. Old Man Pines you're done when I figure this journal out. " The child holding onto the book was no other than Gideon, a smug grin covered his face, as he walked through the forest holding onto the journal.
Unbeknownst to Dale, this was the first discrepancy in the timeline, Gideon found the journal earlier than he should have.
Bill Cipher could only stare through the wormhole, even though he would never admit it. Excitement filled his eye...
