Gravity Falls: The One That Has To Fix The Timeline

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

" Hey! Magic 8 ball! Will Dipper ever fall in love with me... 🎱 " My reply is no " - Pacifica/ 🎱

Tap Tap Tap

Inside a cabin, sitting on a small twin-sized bed. Was Dipper? His eyes were glued to the journal. His pupils were dry, according to Dipper, taking his eyes off the journal for even a blink. Would waste, way too much time.

The usually loud attic was rarely quiet. But, for now, only the sound of Dipper gently tapping his foot against a table next to his bed was heard. Until, a slightly annoyed groan escaped Dipper's lips and he collapsed back, sinking into the softness of his bed.

" I don't understand anything this stupid journal is saying...But, at least, Mabel isn't here to annoy me. Apparently, me and her are about to go have a family bonding session with Grunkle Stan to the lake." Mumbled Dipper, his head sinking deeper and deeper into his pillow.

As, Dipper's bed gently creaked, he remained quiet. His mind was racing with thoughts and ideas about the journal. Even though all of the thoughts were varying in size and detail. Every last one of them led to the same end.

" I need to find that odd man. Who entered the gift shop. He's the only chance...or clue, that I have about this journal. If I can find him. Maybe I can figure out who made this journal or better yet, understand what it means. "...

As Dipper racked his brain, trying to find the best plan of action. Something similar was taking place with Dale, as he sat leaning against a sturdy tree, in the middle of the forest. He stared blankly at the ground, while a vibrant yet frail necklace dangled from his neck. The necklace was made out of unicorn hair, which he had required the other night.

With no way to implant the hair into his skull, the next best thing, in Dale's mind was to make something similar to a headband, tightly tying it around his skull. When night fell, it was a half-assed plan to stop someone like Bill Cipher, but it was better than nothing.

Dale's cracked fingernails slowly reached up to his neck, before gently grabbing on to the necklace and tucking it into his cloak. Just like Dipper, Dale was in a predicament. Getting something to stop Bill Cipher from invading his mind came naturally to Dale. It was the obvious first course of action. But with that completed, the next step to Dale's plan was slowly being set in stone inside his mind.

" I must watch Dipper's and the others' actions from a distance, it's the only way I can think of maintaining this timeline. If something different happens, I must change it, before it spirals out of control. Of course, I can't be everywhere at once. Meaning, if something does alter from the show's timeline and I'm not there...I'm just out of luck. "

Dale grew quiet, before he glanced up into the sky, gazing at the beautiful blue sky, slipping through the gaps of the dense branches of trees. Unbeknownst to Dale, something would happen, something he would never plan on happening. A grand reunion...

A few hours later

Walking along a shabby path, shaped by small stones and bent grass, were four figures. Grunkle Stan, Dipper, Mabel and Soos. The four were having a gentle conversation.

" And then I told the woman. If you ever get a chance to see a guy as good looking as me, To buy a lottery ticket. Because you are one lucky woman...Then she ran away. The end. "

" Wow, Grunkle Stan. Do you have anymore stories to tell us? " Said Mabel staring at Stan's back. Stan just nodded his head and was about to speak again, but before he could, Soos suddenly spoke while glancing down at Dipper.

" Hey man. Are you doing okay? You look pale Dipper? "

" Y-Yeah, I'm perfectly fine. " Responded Dipper. Sweat was dripping down his face, as his legs began to shake. Soos could only stare at Dipper confused before Grunkle Stan abruptly spoke.

" Why are you surprised Soos? You should know someone like Dipper doesn't go outside. The whole time he's been here. He has been in the cramped old attic."

" Ohh. Right. " Said Soos chuckling to himself. But even though Grunkle Stan said this hidden beneath his arrogant facade, there was a slight look of worry. Because Stan knew exactly why Dipper was sweating so much, because he also felt it...A sharp gaze staring them down from a far distance hidden inside the dense forest.

Both Grunkle Stan and Dipper walked rhythmically, trying to figure out where this gaze was coming from until it finally happened. In an abrupt moment, Dipper stopped on a dime, locking his gaze on a pair of bright blue eyes. But instead of yelling or shouting, Dipper in a single swift motion, sprinted towards the eyes, shocking the thing hidden in the forest making it hurriedly dash back.

" Dipper wait! " Yelled Grunkle Stan, as he watched Dipper sprint through a gap between two trees. Quickly Stan chased after Dipper, watching his blue hat bobble up and down, before Dipper glanced down at the ground, seeing a trail of footprints. He followed this trail, until he came to a sliding stop.

" T-They disappeared? " Said Dipper, gasping for breath. He could only stare at the ground puzzled, before a sudden hand slapped his shoulder followed by a voice. " Hey, I didn't know you knew a short cut. " Said Grunkle Stan with a grin on his face. Dipper glanced up at him even more confused, until he saw it in the corner of his eye, a massive lake.

" B-But I swear I saw a pair of eyes- " Before Dipper could finish speaking Soos spoke, while walking towards Dipper. " Nice Dipper. You found the lake. " Mabel followed Soos closely as Grunkle Stan spoke while pointing.

" Alright all we have to do now is head to that dock right there. Dipper since you know so many shortcuts you lead the way."

" W-What I don't know- "

" I don't want to hear it. You lead the way. " Said Stan staring down at Dipper until Dipper sighed and began to walk, heading towards the dock...

Mere feet away from Dipper, the sound of heavy breathing could be heard, with a figure hiding behind a tree glancing over his shoulder. " How did he see me? " Said Dale, his heart racing. Almost beating out of his chest.

Dale watched as Dipper and the others walked away. With every single step they took, his racing heart grew slower and slower until it finally calmed. Dale slowly pushed off the tree stepping out of the tree's shadow walking out into the open and glancing down at the dock, which was crowded with people.

" Perfect. I can see everything from up here. " Mumbled Dale, as he slowly sat down on the ground. Dale watched and watched for countless hours, and yet nothing really happened, which was out of the ordinary. Dipper and the others got their cameras and summoned the creature that Old Man McGucket piloted.

Dale could only let out a happy grin, as the sunset began to set, reflecting off the crystal clear lake water. He slowly pushed off his knees standing back up and-

" Ah. I thought I sensed you again. You're the odd human from last night." A sudden deep voice spoke shocking Dale who stopped, like a deer in headlights.

" Y-Your the creature from last night? Right? " Mumbled Dale.

" Yes. That is correct And don't think that unicorn hair will affect me. That hair is really only used to stop him. " As the creature said this, the lake's water began to swirl rapidly forming several whirlpools, before the creature's head plunged out of the water scattering falling droplets through the air.

" Ahh, I see. But what do you mean odd. Are you talking about my personality or my soul. "

" Neither. I'm talking about the air surrounding your body... It feels almost otherworldly. Like you're really not meant to be here. " Silence swept through the forest, as Dale could only stare at the massive creature glaring down at him, before it turned its neck and glanced to the left, and Dale spoke.

" Well, everyone has their secrets. But did you just come here to talk to me? " Asked Dale.

" No. I'm here to declare a warning to you... If you leave that annoying unicorn on my lake's edge again...I'll find a way to leave that bastard on your doorstep. " Said the creature with a hint of anger in his voice. As soon as the creature said this, it abruptly sank back into the water, confusing Dale until the sound of hurried footsteps approaching him made him glance behind his shoulder only to hear a voice yell at him.

" I knew it. You're here! " yelled out Dipper, coming face to face with Dale...
