GOT: The Golden Lion

Chapter 91: Chapter 88 - The Lion Breeds II

####

"I found something!"

Joffrey hurried towards Daenerys and quickly knelt where her foot was. He used his hands to scoop up the ancient ash and make the surface clear. He already felt a slight bump, and as he cleaned more, he felt a different texture.

"This is it!" He declared in excitement. It'd been hours, and night was approaching. "It's made of metal… Step back."

Quickly, Joffrey made the entire square hatch clear by wiping away the ash. It was a metal hatch with a lone dragon etched on it. No doubt, the castle belonged to a dragonlord. So, he wasted no time and tried to lift the hatch up by its protruding corner.

"It's jammed." Joffrey groaned, using all his strength until his face turned pale red.

"Is it locked?" Daenerys worriedly asked.

"I hope not—ugh!"

Joffrey gave it his all and felt the slight shake off the hatch. He kicked it too, from the top and from all its sides to loosen it. He couldn't ask Daenerys for help either since her hands were already injured.

"It's coming off!" Daenerys shouted.

Joffrey saw nothing as his eyes were clenched. He put all his strength into his back and lifted the entire damn thing. The metal door weighed a lot, and he knew if not for his change in physique, lifting it would have been impossible.

Thud!

Joffrey fell back after completely removing the hatch. He panted and stared down into it, the darkness felt ominous. A lone ladder was attached to it, vanishing into the darkness below. It was somewhat scary, considering how often tales of cursed Valyria were passed around in Westeros.

He feared the unknown. What would he find down there? Lava? Stone Men? Curses? Disease? Instant death?

"Stay behind me." Joffrey unsheathed his sword and held it closer to his chest. Then, he took the first step inside and descended into the darkness. He honestly didn't know what to expect, or how he was going to walk around in the darkness.

One step, then two, and before he knew it, he climbed down enough to only receive faint light from the hatch above.

Floor? He touched the ground at last and quickly raised his sword towards the open dark space. He frantically tried to see anything, letting his eyes adjust to the extremely dim light all around. Feels like a large open area.

He took a careful step forward and tried to tap his sword around to feel anything nearby. A wall, a cabinet, a lamp, or anything.

I have no idea how Dragonriders used to live. Is this just an open chamber or a living space? Joffrey wondered, since having a ladder straight to the roof where one could access their dragon instantly felt like the best living space for a dragonrider.

Clank!

He heard his sword clank against something metallic. Intrigued, he traced the length of the sword with his hand and felt the thing. It seemed he had already reached a wall, and there was something protruding on it, like a metallic orb attached to a small pipe going into the wall.

What's this?

He tried to feel it, and quickly sensed a cut in the middle of the orb, going along the circumference. Wondering if it opened, he spread his palm on the top and tried to lift the thing while giving it a twist.

Click!

"What the!?"

There was light, a lot of amber light out of nowhere. It came from the orb he had just opened, like the lid of a pan he had just moved. The more he opened the orb, the more light came, and once he took it completely off, the entire place was drowned in warm, amber light, as if fire itself.

"What is this?" Joffrey stared at the strange thing. It was clearly not fire, more a stone akin to a crystal, this one only shined a little. He even touched it and felt no heat. "Natural? Did the Valyrians make this?"

At that, he looked around the large room and noticed the entire place was made of dark stone, with crumbled, ruined wall decorations everywhere. What was once the peak of luxury was just a house of garbage. But he also noticed a few openings leading to other rooms. There were no doors, surprisingly, or even their ruins.

"Joffrey!"

He walked back to the ladder and looked up. "You can come down! It's safe!"

Of course, he didn't count himself as a 'safety hazard'.

Ignoring her descending figure, he walked into the other rooms to explore. To find anything worth some comfort. The place was mostly empty other than a few metallic objects here and there. Like candle holders, or similar orbs with light crystals inside. There were also a few wall painting frames, sadly only the frames were left.

Stairs? He finally found a wide stairway leading down. Hoping to find some way to leave the place, maybe underground, he started walking downstairs to check things.

But he barely went one floor down and found the rest of the stairway was missing, broken apart, and fallen down into the dark pit. He wasted no time there in fear that the rest of it would crumble too and returned to the top floor.

By then, Daenerys started helping him map out the entire top floor under the roof. As he had expected, it seemed like the living space of some ancient noble. There was a large dining hall, a living hall, and a library with books intact. Then there was the bedroom, not too large, but it still had a bed, its entire frame made of metal, and the bedding was made of thick sheets of cloth, all covered in dust now. He quickly dusted it off in case he'd have to use it.

The ash hadn't breached inside as the floor was still mostly clean. It was better for them since they found the light orbs all over the area and illuminated the dark chambers.

Finally, Joffrey stopped in the kitchen. There was nothing edible there other than a few old metal utensils. But what gave him hope was the stack of dry wood near the fireplace in the kitchen. Since the entire place had remained untouched by the changing air outside, not much had decayed.

We can make fire and cook… Ah, cook what?

Joffrey was in survival mode. He couldn't kill Daenerys and eat her, after all… well not until a few months of starvation, at least.

Thud!

Joffrey quickly looked behind him at the sound. He walked out of the cooking area and entered the lone bedroom on the floor. Inside the warmly lit room, he found Daenerys sitting on the floor, on her bottom as if she had just fallen back. Before her was a large open metallic chest that he previously didn't bother to open.

And seeing the content; Daenerys' reaction felt normal.

"D-Dragon eggs?" Joffrey exclaimed and grabbed a golden egg with wavy scales. "This… Is this a Dragon egg?"

"It… it is…" Daenerys murmured, her gaze distant, her breath catching as she took it all in. She swallowed, eyes darting from Joffrey's face back to the chest, where three more eggs lay nestled within. "They're… larger than the ones I hatched."

Inside his mind, Joffrey was panicking. It was already an almost impossible task to subdue Daenerys with her three dragons. If these four more eggs were to hatch and join her, it'd be the end of his bloodline.

Should I kill her? He certainly had the chance. No, her dragon is the only way out of here.

Stuck between cliffs on both ends, Joffrey gazed at the dragon egg in his hand. He was certain he didn't have any Targaryen blood in him, so he didn't dream of taming a dragon. Lannisters have always been immensely powerful and rich throughout history and never showed interest in marrying Targaryens. At the same time, Targaryens were mostly interested in fucking their own sisters and aunts, if not a Velaryon.

At that, Joffrey looked at Daenerys, her face sparkling with excitement. She was truly beautiful, and there was no doubt about it. His plan to have her as his first official wife was still ongoing. But, he hesitated a bit.

A lone woman holding seven dragons… that was too much power in her hands.

I have to claim her. No, I have to claim her and make her mine. Being stuck here is a boon in case we safely make it out of here. Joffrey made up his devious mind right then. I must put my seed in her womb.

"Congratulations. If we make it out alive, you'll have more dragon children." Joffrey handed her the golden egg, his gaze drifting back to the chest, finding a cloak, a long sword, and bits of armor. He hummed, reaching for the sword. "Is this Valyrian steel?"

"Joffrey."

He looked back at her.

"We need to place them on fire. The temperature here must have kept them alive until now, but it's not enough to hatch them." Daenerys spoke without thinking, too excited by the discovery. "I can feel it! They are calling to me! They need me."

What you need is me inside your fucking cunt. Joffrey sighed, doing his best to control himself. Ah, Grandfather must be going insane back at Lys.
