Chapter 225: Chapter 222
Having copied all the books into the Grimoire, Severus asked a couple more questions at the end, half of which the core simply did not answer due to lack of rights.
They were mainly related to the founders, or more precisely, their secrets such as: research, spells, certain moments in history and the exact cause and date of death.
The same was true for Alannon, except for some general information, the artifact did not give anything else about him, again referring to the rights. But this was enough to make several conclusions: firstly, he was stronger than all four founders combined; secondly, he was not from this country, since Godric met him during his travels around the world, when he was still young; thirdly, one can make another conclusion, based on the second, that he was much older than Gryffindor, because already at their first meeting he was old, and the founders themselves lived a very long life, for the wizards of this world, and after that, he headed Hogwarts for another fifty years.
But Severus couldn't say whether the man was still alive or not, there were too many factors that didn't allow him to clearly answer this question, but one of the main ones was the elixirs, thanks to which Flamel lived for more than six hundred years.
But the Prince was going to dig up information about him, it wasn't for nothing that he had taken over the "Black Star", it was time for them to work a little more.
When going back to his room, Severus didn't go back on foot, but decided to try out the ability to move around the castle, and it was much more pleasant than apparition.
Regarding the "map", Snape could use it almost anywhere, but he didn't throw away the "map" of those three idiots for the reason that it was more detailed, although less convenient, but the "rat locator" named Peter Pettigrew completely leveled this drawback ...

[A few days later. The hospital wing.]
Sitting at the table for about an hour in complete silence, Severus looked calmly at Slughorn and Pomfrey with a cup of tea in his hand, they were holding a small stack of written papers in their hands, occasionally nodding, frowning and surprised at something, almost in sync.
"This is not the final version yet," noticing that both teachers finally paid attention to him, he continued, looking at the healer, "Thanks to the book you gave me and the results obtained from Mungo's on the use of anti-dragon serum on victims, observations of all stages of healing, with all the side effects and samples, I was able to refine it, increasing the chances to 87.5%, but so far only in theory."
"Mr. Prince... this... is indeed an interesting method, but how did you understand that it was the white fern that could help weaken this magical virus?" She asked with undisguised interest, feeling genuinely shocked that such work could be done by a simple student, while the best healers of Britain and France could do nothing, no matter how much they researched the disease and the serum.
"Thanks to Muggle literature, as well as an improved microscope. The white fern, in addition to the weakening effect, has several more mediocre effects, which everyone usually turns a blind eye to …"
"Detoxification," the thoughtful professor finished for him, stroking his chin, continuing to examine the list of forty-two ingredients that were part of the anti-dragon serum, "And thanks to the asmus root, which is very rarely used for potions, you enhanced the effect of the white fern, thanks to which the serum became a little more effective …"
"But in addition to this, he also changed the method of using the serum, direct injection into the chest, and due to the fact that during illness, the magic in the body is very active and fights the magical virus itself, mainly accumulating in the chest area. Having injected the serum into this place, in addition to spreading throughout the body, it will immediately hit the virus, and if you repeat this procedure for seven days ... no! It's not eighty-seven, it's ninety percent!"
"It all depends on the severity, the chances of healing are from ninety to eighty-five, but I chose the average value," he calmly explained, smiling slightly at the sight of the excited expression on the lady's face, "And while this is not a finished study, I think I will have enough for another four months and I will bring the serum to perfection."
"Do you have any ideas?" the man looked at him with a burning gaze, feeling real excitement. Of course, Slughorn was happy for his student, but even more for himself, because no matter how the wizard tried to seem indifferent to fame, he was still a vain bastard.
For the same reason, he liked to gather talented and successful people around him. In addition to great connections in a variety of fields, he would not mind being known as the one who raised the potion maker of the "black cauldron" who was able to refine the anti-dragon serum, because this would glorify not only Snape himself, but also him,as a teacher.
But besides that, Horace may have been a bit selfish before, but over the years he had grown attached to the Prince, because the young man reminded him of himself: one of a kind, a desire for knowledge and a sincere love for potion making.
For this reason, the head of Slytherin decided to support this young man in all his endeavors, and he had nothing against basking in the rays of someone else's glory and he was not going to miss such an attractive opportunity.
"Yes, but they require additional analysis, I thought three months would be enough for me to finalize, a month to register a patent and analyze at the Ministry of Magic, and another month for testing and by the end of June, it should be tested on people, just in time for the defense of NEWT," while he was voicing his plan, with each new word the eyes of both adults became larger and larger, threatening to soon simply fall out of their eye sockets, "Something like that."
"It's…" Slughorn just didn't know how to comment on it, his face was like a fish out of water, "... amazing…?"
"Severus, are you sure you can handle it?" Pulling herself together, Poppy asked, with a hint of excitement in her voice, but she completely shared the feeling of the head of the Slytherin house.
She was 99.9% sure that it was simply impossible, but the woman did not criticize his "plan" either.
'When the time comes, he himself will understand that it is impossible, let it be a lesson for him for the future.'
"Even if it doesn't work out, I think that this will be enough for me to protect myself, am I right?" he turned his gaze to Horace, who nodded slowly in response.
"Then there is nothing to worry about," the Prince added with a grin, a pocket watch appearing in his hand, "Well, if you have no more questions, then I will go, there are forty minutes left before lights out, and I still need to have time to take a bath and feed Lucky."
"Yes, of course, you can go…" Madam Pomfrey replied, "Do you mind if we keep this research to ourselves for now? I wanted to reread everything again and check it."
"I second that," Slughorn added.
"Of course, then, I will not distract you anymore, good night, Madam Pomfrey,"a nod in her direction, "Professor Slughorn," another nod in his direction, and then, turning around, Severus headed for the exit.
At the same time, the two adults seeing off his back simultaneously thought of one thing: "Monster!"
That was the only way they could describe his talent, which was too outstanding. In an hour, both of them, masters in their fields, were only able to go over the main points, but the amount of research that the Prince had done in the short five months, if he had started working on the anti-dragon serum since September, made even them feel genuine amazement, but at the same time pride that they were the ones who had put their hands to raising such a "monster".
_________
Having left the hospital wing, Severus climbed the stairs and headed towards the women's toilet, located on the third floor.
"Hm..." for a moment the Prince felt someone's gaze on him and after a few seconds, an almost imperceptible, but playful smile crawled onto his face by itself. If it had been someone else, Snape would not have allowed them to follow him, but for now the wizard could only allow this "person" to see the place he was going to.
On the way, Severus did not run into anyone, not only because it was already quite late, but also because this part of the third floor was almost never used.
And finally, having reached the right place, just a metre from the women's toilet, he began to press the bricks one by one, in a certain sequence, and then, having taken out a wand and written a certain word on the central one with the help of magic, the wall began to shake and with a grinding noise began to move to the sides, opening a passage with a spiral staircase leading down, into which he immediately entered and began to descend, and a few seconds later a white silhouette slipped behind him...
As soon as Severus descended and entered the room, he was immediately greeted by a slightly displeased female voice.
"And you were in no particular hurry to visit me again…" Rowena measured him with a displeased look.
"I had New Year's holidays, and since when should I report to you?" the Prince chuckled indifferently, approaching the table and falling into a chair, "I have news for you, but whether it is good or bad, judge for yourself," a parchment appeared in his hand, which he threw up.
"Hm?" the woman, a little puzzled, but still concentrated her attention on the letter hanging in front of her... At the sight of which her eyes widened, because she immediately recognized the familiar handwriting.
"This... where did you get it?" swallowing, with excitement in her voice, the Ravenclaw asked, not looking up from the text.
"In the room with the castle core," the witch in the portrait froze at his words, as if not believing what she heard.
"How...?"
"By accident."
"I see…" the lady sighed more quietly with a bitter smile on her lips, "So he couldn't survive either…" raising her head and closing her eyes, two lonely tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Yes, but he still managed to protect this place, somehow contacting Alannon at the last moment, but I still couldn't get anything about him out of the core, so maybe you can tell me?"
"Alannon... he was our mentor…" after a few seconds, an image of a good-natured old man appeared in her memory, in a white cape, with a completely white beard down to his waist, which he stroked with a thoughtful look, "At Godric's request, he taught the three of us for ten years: me, Helga and Salazar, a much more advanced level of magic, only thanks to him we became the strongest wizards in this country, but... I can't tell you more about him…"
"An oath?" she only nodded silently, nostalgically remembering the time when they were still alive.
"It's a pity, then I'll look for him myself, but what do you think, could he still be alive, nine hundred years after your death?"
"I... I don't know, he was a very mysterious man, but... I doubt it, he would be very old by now…"
"Okay, thank you for sharing this information with me," he stood up from the table and stretched slightly.
"Are you leaving already?" Rowena asked, noticing that he had turned to leave, with a hint of reluctance in her voice.
"The lights will be out soon and I have to be in the living room before ten," he answered calmly, looking at the clock hanging above the door, "And I brought someone with me, although it's more likely that she followed me…"
The woman looked a little surprised, because she didn't feel anyone behind the door or on the stairs, and she thought that Severus was playing a joke on her, sending a displeased look in his direction.
"Stop hiding, I have already blocked the exit, and you will not be able to use the walls to escape," pointing his palm at the door, he used the attraction charm.
"Enough!" a sharp, but at the same time frightened female voice sounded and the next moment, through the door, a transparent white creature flew into the room, seeing which, Ravenclaw's lips trembled, and in the eyes, apart from sincere amazement bordering on disbelief, it was impossible to see anything else "H-Helena ...?"
