Chapter 220: Chapter 217

For the next few days, Severus spent almost all his time at home, devoting all his free time to analysing the sword, as well as the dragon egg, with which he experimented a lot.

He was interested in how the latter would be affected by the blood of a real dragon, "borrowed" from the Snake King from the "Magic Jungle", and to his surprise, an hour after immersing the egg in a capsule with this liquid, it began to change.

The level of the blood itself began to steadily drop, and a small spark of magic under the shell, at the same pace, began to thicken and gradually increase in size.

In the second hour, the density and quantity of magic was equal to the "Apprentices", if compared with other magical creatures, then it was at least the second rank.

That is, even now, the forming dragon was not inferior in volume of magic to six-month-old wolf cubs. In the fourth hour, the blood level in the capsule dropped by half, but at the same time, the egg already exuded magic comparable to monsters that had just entered the third rank, approximately at the level of the weakest, adult blood wolves.

And in the eighth hour, the growth rate gradually began to decrease. The liquid level in the capsule dropped only by half of the remaining, and the magical source under the shell was close to the top of the third rank.

And finally, at the twelfth hour, the egg absorbed the last five liters of blood, reaching its peak, equaling the six strongest wolves, but still inferior to the leader of the pack, a monster that would soon be able to reach the middle of the fourth rank. But in addition to the sharp growth in terms of magic, Severus discovered another change, this is the forming body of the creature.

It already had some differences from its relatives and what was written in the books about dragons. This change was the separation of the wings from the front legs and their transition to the back, but at the same time, in all other respects it remained the same.

But Severus did not doubt that there were other transformations, on a more subtle level, which he simply could not yet discern for the reason that the creature behind the shell was only beginning to form and even then, Snape felt that the magical power, almost imperceptibly, was growing and for the sake of interest, he poured more blood into the capsule and continued to observe, writing down each change in a notebook.

After all, this result was not only to satisfy his interest, but also to understand how the blood of a real dragon would affect other creatures and many had already gone through something similar: from simple lizards to dragons and snakes, although it was on the latter that he focused his attention, because all these experiments had only one goal, to prepare for the upcoming ritual of Nagini and collect as much information as possible about the effect of blood on all reptiles.

But there was something he very much regretted, it was the murder of the Basilisk, the closest creature to the maledictus at the moment.

After all, if it were still alive, Severus could get more accurate data on the effect of blood on them and better adjust the ritual with the potion for it.

Over the next two days, the capsule with blood was empty again and the shell acquired a more condensed shade of crimson and the number of gold specks doubled. But the most important result was the volume of magic.

The baby dragon was able to overcome the boundary of the third rank and step onto the fourth, becoming equal to the "Masters" at the beginning of the rank, due to which the body forming in the egg, in order to contain all this power, had to absorb all the useful substances and magic from the blood to strengthen itself, for the same reason, the growth in terms of magic was very small.

There was one thing with which Severus was disappointed, which is, hatching a small monster at the top of the fifth rank was not possible.

Up until the seventh day, the cub that had already formed in the egg was able to absorb only two more liters of blood, which went to strengthen the physical body, after which the absorption rate dropped by half.

Although it continued to absorb it, it happened too slowly and according to Severus's calculations, all that the baby could achieve was only the middle of the rank, and this in the best case.

It will be overtaking the King of Chimeras's cub in this regard, but at the same time, it was still far inferior to this strange kitten, which in the near future, perhaps, could be called the strongest creature in the world, because it was close to reaching the sixth rank and how much faster it would become even the Slytherin could not predict...

By the evening of the same day, putting his pen aside and swiping his tired gaze at three screens with texts and various magical formulas, Severus closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, and the parchment lying on the table rolled up into a roll and flew towards the closet, to the others.

'Another part of the magic circle was completed, there is still a little left and at least only one of them, but I will finally complete it…' Snape thought, smiling slightly, lazily getting up from the table and heading towards the exit, but just as he was a few meters away from the door, Severus froze, and then, with a displeased expression, returned back to the table.

And a few seconds later, as soon as Severus fell into the chair, a mirror appeared in his hand, placing its face on the table, a screen appeared in front of him, on which a familiar blond appeared, but without a mask, with a slightly pale complexion, but still with the same lively eyes.

"Since you contacted me, then apparently you found the person I was looking for?" raising an eyebrow, Severus asked the leader of the "Black Star", from whose lips a tired sigh escaped and he nodded slightly.

"Yes, I was able to find out who it is, but …" the man hesitated, not knowing how to continue correctly, so as not to insult or "upset" the person in whose hands his life was.

Arnold pondered the whole situation for a long time and managed to come to only one disappointing decision: if he had to choose between his life and the Diamond department with the Necromancer community, he would of course choose the first, but the wizard did not want to make this choice, because the loss of these two groups would be a strong blow to the entire organization and he could not even imagine how many decades it would take to restore its former strength.

"Speak," the Prince calmly ordered, resting his head on his palm and leaning on his bent elbow.

"Can I ask you if it is possible to somehow resolve your differences peacefully?" Arnold asked sullenly, folding his hands in front of him, without mentioning the words of his subordinate that the necromancer had spent the last ten years in the community, without leaving the library and had only recently become its official member and simply could not provoke a person like Severus, or even meet him at all.

"Hm... okay," after his calm answer, the leader of the organization froze for a moment, remembering the anger that he saw in the young man's eyes that day, because he expected a refusal and was preparing to explain why he shouldn't do it and how it could affect the organization as a whole.

"I'm ready to forget all this, but on one condition…" Severus added at the same second to dispel the man's suspicion towards him, which was easy to notice in his gaze, "I want to look at one thing." and a transparent screen appeared next to him, on which a black book appeared.

"It should be in the Necromancer community and I don't care who brings it, I'm not going to steal it, I need to make sure of something."

"It... will be difficult... very…" Arnold's face became even more expressionless, because he almost immediately recognized the "Black Grimoire",the main treasure of the Necromancer community, which they worshipped as their deity, was much harder to bring than that "boy".

And realizing this, his face turned sour and he closed his eyes, going over hundreds of options in his head on how to get out of this stalemate in order to preserve the strength of the organization, but also his life…

*Or get me that person, I will not kill him or steal the artifact, I will not even be able to use the latter, and if you do not believe me, I can swear by magic or sign a magical contract," he added lazily in his voice, which greatly surprised Arnold on the screen, whose tense face gradually began to smooth out and something like a smile came to his lips.

"I... let me explain everything to my friend and in a few minutes I will contact you again."

"Go ahead," Severus waved his hand languidly and the screen faded away, and then, getting up from the table and going to the window, where it was already dark, he smiled softly, watching the cubs frolicking in front of the porch and Eileen and Nagini chatting in the gazebo, "Still, I should have been more restrained that day, most likely it was this impulsiveness on my part that became the outcome of that vision…"

__________

Ten minutes later, Arnold contacted him again and finally accepted the offer. The meeting was scheduled for January 14th in Romania, not far from the capital, Pitesti.

This country was not chosen by chance, because it was there that the largest community of Necromancers was located, and no, this was not a trap, but a precaution.

Although they believed in magical contracts, they still wanted to protect the "young talent". Of course, it would be much easier to visit Romania right now, find and destroy this circle of lovers of decomposing corpses, but it would take too much time, since Arnold did not know the exact location of the community, because it was mainly contacted by the leader of the "Diamond" branch, Sandro, the "Emotionless Reaper".

And Severus himself did not benefit from weakening the Black Star, because he still wanted to use it in the future for many other things, some of which were: collecting information, searching for ruins, ingredients, materials, etc., and if the organisation was weakened, then the Queens would hardly sit idly by and not take advantage of the deplorable situation of the enemies.

This is not to mention smaller groups that sleep and see, to bite off a piece of the giant. But Snape was not going to leave that man without attention, so he wanted to meet with him and put a mark on his body in order to keep an eye on him and be able to take his life at any moment.

This was Severus's plan, but there was still a lot of time until next Saturday, and it was worth preparing for the return back to Hogwarts, and also for tomorrow's meeting with Bella ...
