__________
Outside the fiery perimeter, anyone even a little closer could feel the intense heat, causing them to scream in agony as flames scorched their skin.
At the boundary between the river and the blazing inferno, a wall of water vapor appeared, veiling the area in a ghostly mist.
This horrific, surreal scene struck terror in all the beings present.
The warriors froze, halting their battles as they stared at the massive creature at the heart of the fiery storm, their minds blank with shock.
"What… what is happening?"
"Father God! Are you abandoning us?"
"Why must we suffer this punishment?"
Outside the sea of flames, the dinosaur people were the first to snap out of their stupor.
But as they did, they were filled with grief and disbelief.
In the center of the inferno, closest to the mountain, were their kin—the dinosaur people.
The sight of their tribesmen and even primal dinosaurs writhing in the flames, turning into living torches, was too much to bear. Those unharmed fell to their knees in despair.
Some threw themselves into the flames, calling for their loved ones, heedless of the searing heat.
Tears streamed down their faces as they wailed, while others lay collapsed on the ground, overcome by hopelessness, their faces pale and terror-stricken.
"It hurts!"
"The pain is unbearable!"
"Oh Father! Oh Father! Save us…"
Within the blazing inferno, a young dinosaur man burned, his body enveloped in fire. He rolled on the ground, but the scorching earth only fed the flames, making it impossible to extinguish them.
And so, the young dinosaur man could only cry out in agony, his screams piercing the chaotic scene.
The entire ordeal lasted just ten seconds, but it was enough to petrify every creature from the three tribes, leaving them unable to move.
"Father God! Is this the punishment for us, your unworthy people?"
In the inferno, feeling the flames consuming him, the dinosaur elder despaired.
Just moments before, they had been filled with hope, elated by the Father God's awakening. But in an instant, divine punishment had rained down upon them, sparing no one, not even him.
Through the searing pain, the elder looked at his tribesmen, watching them scream, writhe, and wail within the fire. He closed his eyes, heart heavy with sorrow.
Then suddenly, his eyes flew open.
The dinosaur elder noticed that the life draining from him had suddenly stopped.
There was pain—intense at first—but it soon began to subside.
Within thirty seconds, the agony had dulled dramatically.
Tentatively, he lifted his hand and saw that the flames engulfing his arms were now gradually fading, as though his body was absorbing them.
Within a minute, the flames had completely vanished, and in their place, he felt an unprecedented power surging through him.
Once frail and elderly, now the dinosaur elder felt rejuvenated, as if he had regained the vitality of his youth.
"What…?"
The elder stared at his hands, wide-eyed, in sheer disbelief.
"This isn't divine punishment!" He shouted.
"No… This is God's judgment, but also his care and blessing for us!"
"Just as Father once gifted us wisdom and resilience, now he has blessed us with new powers!"
"Fire!"
Standing amidst the sea of flames, feeling the strange energy flowing through his veins, the dinosaur elder focused and willed the flames to respond.
Suddenly, fire erupted from his fists, glowing red-hot.
He could control fire!
The Lava Warriors had finally gained the coveted power they'd long desired.
Just as the snake people could wield venom and the shark people could unleash ice, the Lava Warriors now had divine favor.
They were no longer simply strong in body; they had become true people of God, blessed with fire.
For generations, long before James awoke, dinosaur tribes had labored to gain the Father God's favor. They bathed in magma, training their bodies to withstand heat, hoping to wield fire.
Despite generations of effort, they had only increased their resistance to heat—they could never wield it.
Yet, what had eluded them for so long was now theirs, almost effortlessly.
Not only had the elder regained his strength and mastered flames, but nearly ten thousand dinosaur men and primal dinosaurs trapped in the inferno had also begun to awaken.
From the initial agony, they now felt a strange, comfortable warmth. Strength filled their bodies, and they could feel their bones cracking with newfound power.
Even the primal dinosaurs, though simple-minded, had changed. Their bodies had grown, and their strength had surged, signaling a major evolution.
For the dinosaur people, this proved their belief: Father God's grace extended even to their ancient kin.
Some had believed the primal dinosaurs were left behind by God for lacking intelligence. But now, seeing them transformed, they understood they too were blessed—evolving along a different path.
Within the sea of fire, a twenty-meter-long primal dinosaur resembling a Tyrannosaurus Rex rose, flames blazing from its jaws, stunning both the dinosaur people and the other two tribes watching from afar.
With a massive jaw, armored skin, and now the power to breathe fire, it had become a fearsome weapon of war.
The extent of this blessing was still unknown, but the dinosaur people would uncover it in time.
As more dinosaur people and primal dinosaurs awoke, they emerged from the flames, dazed but soon overcome with joy.
They turned to James, who stood towering behind them, his form a blazing red lotus of energy. Their voices rang out in unison.
"Praise the Father for granting us new, powerful bodies!"
"Praise God the Father!"
Their cries resounded with joy, a far cry from their previous despair.
Yet, this brutal blessing came with a cost. Those who could not withstand the power of fire had perished instantly.
Around one-fifth of the tribe had fallen.
But to the dinosaur people, these losses were small compared to what they had endured in the war. In this savage era, life was expendable, and survival of the fittest was the law.
Now that their tribe was stronger, with new abilities, and the Father God had awakened, these losses seemed insignificant.
And so, cheers erupted across the sea of fire.
In the distance, not only the dinosaur warriors but also the snake and shark people stood, stunned.
On the river, a shark man with a bone staff atop a massive sea beast looked at the scene with reverence.
"This is a true god, beyond the reach of false gods or mere mortals."
"Spread the word. Have our water people retreat. There's no need for further fighting."
"Though water may cover the earth, there are places even water cannot reach. We must report this to our gods. It ends here."
"And do not forget—reach out to those in the poison mist. Demand the blood tribute they promised."
"Tell them we, the water people, have suffered greatly today. They must offer substantial tribute to appease the water god, or it may be them facing our wrath next time."
The shark priest issued his orders solemnly to his men.
"Yes, sir."
The three tribes had been at odds for millennia, their wars for territory spanning ages. Each side understood the other's strength well.
But when it came to gods, that understanding faded. Gods rarely intervened, and even more rarely fought for their people. Today, they had seen a god in action, and it changed everything.
