Godly Grey Sky

Chapter 11: Long Road Ahead

As Eieren talked, Aeth's [Six Sense] started slowly calming down after he realized there wasn't any danger, letting him relax for a second.

[Aphrodite's Hate] Huh, another Rule that has to do with the Gods.

"So what does it do exactly?"

Eieren sat there, thinking about her Rule.

"Well…. It's kind of like…. You know the feeling you get when you meet someone for the first time…. Well when people meet me they usually are filled with a sense of death".

Aeth recoiled at that.

That's a terrible Rule, with an even more terrible description.

Makes my Rule seem a little more tame.

"Oh ok, well that's not to bad if you just explain it"

"I guess…. But most people run away before I can"

Damn, now I'm just depressed.

"Well anyways, thanks for telling me about your Rule, I only asked because one of my abilities lets me sense certain things, and it kept going off, it was driving me crazy"

"Oh…. I'm sorry" Eieren said, softly almost as if on the brink of tears.

"Oh no it's alright really, it's no big deal, Terra warned me beforehand, so it's really my fault".

Even if that warning was shitty

"Oh…. ok" She said shyly, cheering up a bit.

I hope she warms up a little, or is good at fighting.

"Alright so Terra, what are the plans for tomorrow?" Aeth asked, as Eieren looked at her expectantly.

"Oh, I thought that you could take Eirene to the Outer World"

Hmm, I need to know her abilities first though, but I already asked an impolite question so I won't ask now.

"Sure, I could do that Terra"

"Huh? Wait already!" Eirene said, her voice picking up.

"Oh that's perfect, and don't worry Eirene, Aeth is decently strong, you'll be fine" She said excitedly.

"Ok…." Eirene said with a scared look on her face.

"Oh I've also thought of a guild name"

"Oh really?" Aeth and Eieren asked.

I hope it's not something dumb, like Terra's guild, I'm not sure if she's a creative person or not.

"I've decided that our guild will be call Spark of Divinity"

Huh, well it's not as bad as I thought, a little on the nose for Positions, but I guess it's better then my guesses

"And Aeth, since you're the first member, I've given you the Veteran Rank, and Eieren, you the Member Rank".

Eieren nods.

"So what does that mean exactly?" Aeth asks.

Veteran? I've been here for not even a week.

Terra thinks for a few moments.

"Well nothing right now, but in the future you'll get more benefits from Spark of Divinity".

Well at least I know she's taking her job seriously, I've also noticed that you're a bit of an airhead Terra.

"Well that's great, I like the name".

"Me…. too".

"Well thank you two for your support and gratitude for this guild". Terra said, smiling.

They all talked until eight at night, learning a little bit about Eieren's abilities, while eating the delicious food Kara had made that night

She had two abilities and both were active, one was a manipulation ability although he didn't know the type, her other one though, he didn't know anything about that one.

Terra said she was a special person, and she hadn't been wrong about me so she must be important.

As Aeth kept talking, he was getting more and more tired, mostly from his hunt this morning, and the strain of using his abilities.

After a little more chatting, he said goodnight to Eieren and Terra then got up and went to the bathhouse.

He undressed, put the set of dirty clothes in a hamper, set his clean clothes down, then got in the warm bath.

Damn I love this bath, I'm going to hate it when there's more people in here, I hope she doesn't add any guy members anytime soon.

Hmm…. maybe Terra could get a private bath for me…. Since I'm a Veteran now.

Aeth soaked in the warm and comfortable bath for about thirty minutes before getting out, drying off, then getting dressed in his nightwear.

He then went to his room, layed down, then drifted off to sleep almost immediately.

...

The next morning, outside in the training grounds under the bright sun and grey sky, two sixteen year olds were preparing for a hunt.

Aether had asked Terra to organize a Rune powered Versan for Eirene and him, to make the journey to the gate easier.

Runes were where a Position of a certain element and ability, drew a rune on an object. It took a decent amount of time, so it couldn't be used in battle. But it allowed a bunch of different and new technologies to be made. As they could be used in just about anything, were very versatile, durabile, and did not need a power source as they ran off of Divinity from Positions.

The inventor of the Rune was Wright Ford, he was born around 200 AG, he helped reshape the world after the Grey Sky and Grey Creatures appeared, he was a brilliant man who inspired so many people to keep moving forward, people even studied him to this day.

Even though he was long dead, most people still credit him for any invention that uses Runes, which is mostly every new invention. Such as the Versan Aeth and Eirene were about to drive.

The Versan Terra had rented, was a grey, jeep looking car, with only two seats, one driving and one passenger and a huge trunk for storage in the back. It also didn't have an exhaust as it ran on steam power.

It worked by using a Fire and Water Rune to create water and heat to boil the water, thus producing steam, then the Spatial Rune takes the steam and teleports it into a piston that is on all the wheels, the steam then naturally want to escape to it pushes the piston thus moving the Versan.

Aeth loaded up some supplies in the Versan. He loaded food, water, medical supplies, and some clothes, as they were going to stay a couple of days out there, as a sort of big Outer World's run.

This wasn't a too uncommon occurrence, as most guilds did this with new members, but as this was a new guild, Aeth hadn't thought that Terra would make Eirene go with him.

Speaking of.

Aeth looked at Eirene, who looked like she was on the verge of a panic attack. Maybe from the stress of the new people, guild, or maybe the deadly mission she was about to go on.

Probably the mission.

"Hey, it'll be ok, there are mostly only Ordinary Rank, with the occasional Abnormal Rank here and there, which is nothing I can't handle, expectantly with your help, so try and relax, ok?"

Eirene seemed to calm down a little after hearing Aeth's words, although she was still on edge.

"Thanks…. I really appreciate it"

She is a little adorable now that I look at her, if you can ignore the deathly feeling when you meet her.

"So what type of abilities do you have, of course I'll tell you mine too".

"Oh…. well as you know…. I have two abilities".

"One is a manipulation type ability, I say the name of Gravity and I can make things…. lighter and heavier…. It's called [Multi Manipulation]".

Oh wow, most Gravity abilities can only do one, but she can do both, how rare.

"My second is called…. [Tracker], as you can guess…. It lets me know where any living creature is…. In around a five mile radius".

Aeth wide eyed at this.

What? I've never heard of an ability like that before, that must be rare then, probably more than a Dual Manipulator! I can see what Terra was saying now.

Wait, I don't even need to waste Ethereal on asking Atlas where the Grey Creatures are!

"Hey Eirene, I think we're gonna get along just fine". Aeth says smiling ear to ear.

Eirene blushes a little at this

"Thanks…. Aether".

"You can call me Aeth from now on".

Aeth then explained this Abilities to her, leaving out his Rule, since that would only cause issues.

"Oh yeah what type of Tools do you have?" Aeth asked, as he loaded more supplies into the Versan.

"Oh…. I have a bow, a set of armor, and a bracelet"

Hmm, well a bow fits her just fine, I doubt she knows any close combat techniques, so I guess I'll be at the front lines the whole time.

"I see that will do just fine"

"Ok…. good"

Aeth then stared at her for a second.

Hmm, I hope she isn't like this, all tame and worried while we fight, wait? Has she even seen a Grey before?.

"You have seen and killed a Grey before? Right?"

She then looked down at the floor, as if she was being punished by a parent for being disobedient.

"It's fine, how good are you with your bow?" He asked a little disappointed by her answer.

"Well…. I took classes when I was young…. So I'm ok at it"

Well, that's something at least, just her tracking ability is enough for me to bring her, even if Terra wasn't forced too with me.

"Dont worry about it, once again, Im capable enough to do this by myself, so you'll be ok, and once your done with his mission I promise you'll be a comply different person"

"Ok…. I trust you"

"Let's get going then"

Hmm, with Eirene I think we could kill fifty Greys if we're lucky, which that'll be about what? Not even one percent, damn I'm not getting to IX Rank for a while.

They both got into the car, Aeth taking the wheel, starting the Rune generator, stepping on the gas, then made their way towards the Marsh Gate.
