God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: [Vine of Ascension]/ [Mutant Progenitor]

"I know you're strong, but not that strong. Do you even know how many monsters have come to Bluewater city recently?"

"Don't think that squeezing information out of me will stop this monster invasion because the terror this time is beyond your imagination!"

"Let me go, and I'll tell you how to escape Bluewater City!"

The monster girl bared her teeth, shouting constantly, trying to provoke Alexander into releasing her.

She believed that Alexander wasn't killing her because he sensed that this monster invasion was different from the past, making him hesitant.

As Alexander dragged her through the unfinished garden construction and into his small courtyard, the monster girl kept running her mouth.

Alexander casually threw the bodies of the two adult monsters onto the ground, then walked toward a giant shipping container in the courtyard.

Opening the door, a few corpses rolled out. The monster girl instantly fell silent.

Because what she saw inside that massive container was hundreds of corpses!!

This human wasn't someone to be trifled with! He had killed more people than monsters ever did!

She watched as Alexander dug a deep pit in the ground and started tossing the bodies into it.

The pit couldn't hold all of them, so Alexander jumped in, stomping the bodies down to make room for two more, then threw the two monster corpses in as well.

This grotesque behavior, one even a monster found disturbing, made the monster girl gulp nervously.

She retracted her wings and obediently sat on the ground, not daring to make a single unnecessary move.

Alexander sat beside the monster girl and said, "Do you know why I haven't killed you? I have use for you, so don't be so tense."

The monster girl breathed a sigh of relief, racking her brain to figure out what use she could possibly have to Alexander.

Then his next words made her break out in cold sweat.

"I've always wondered if burying a living creature with spiritual energy in the ground would help with plant cultivation."

The monster girl immediately burst into tears, "Brother, no! I'm still young, can't you wait until I'm older before doing anything?"

Alexander shook his head. That wasn't going to happen unless the little monster had some other value.

Suddenly, the night sky darkened as the stars faded, and the moon was covered by thick clouds.

With a clap of thunder, wild winds began to rage, and heavy rain poured down!

The wind howled alongside the downpour, as if the heavens were weeping.

The sky was mourning the arrival of something terrifying!

Alexander quickly stood up from his vegetable patch.

"Am I about to get lucky?"

This was a sign—an omen!

Was another S-rank plant about to appear?

The ground started to churn violently as a vine burst out from the earth, snaking through the garden like a massive serpent.

The vine absorbed the remaining spiritual energy from the soil, and one by one, roses began to bloom along its length.

The roses blossomed beautifully, with petals as red as blood.

After the vine sprouted over a hundred roses, a deafening clap of thunder echoed through the sky, making Alexander's ears ache.

He looked up. The clouds dispersed, and the rain ceased.

What kind of thing could make the heavens cry and rage at the same time?

A surge of mysterious information flowed into Alexander's mind.

[Vine of Ascension: S-Rank Item]

[The Vine of Ascension is a plant born from the collective desires of people facing a world overrun by mutations. It produces a serum capable of inducing significant changes within the human body. With a slim chance of success, those who survive the transformation can awaken extraordinary abilities. However, for most, the process brings unbearable agony, warping them into grotesque, mutated creatures with twisted forms and altered biology.]

As soon as the Vine of Ascension appeared, a flood of information surged into Alexander's mind, revealing the plant's origins and purpose.

The Vine was not a naturally occurring entity but one that came into existence much like the Wishwood Tree, born from the desperate desires and needs of people in a world devastated by rampant mutation.

In that world, mutated creatures, once human, roamed freely, their bodies warped and twisted beyond recognition.

Their grotesque forms were the result of a widespread disaster, an uncontrolled force that reshaped the very fabric of life.

Faced with overwhelming terror and the primal instinct to survive, humanity's collective yearning for strength and resilience took shape through the Vine of Ascension, a plant designed to offer power where once there was only helplessness.

But the Vine of Ascension was far from a miracle. It drew inspiration from the chaos that birthed it, mimicking the mutations that had overtaken the world.

The product it created was a powerful serum, capable of granting people immense strength and abilities, but at a devastating cost.

Much like the mutations of the world it originated from, this serum carried a heavy risk—only a small fraction of those who used it could awaken to great power.

For most, the serum caused agonizing transformations, turning them into monstrous beings devoid of humanity.

The Vine's gift was a double-edged sword. It granted the possibility of salvation, but beneath that hope was the same horror it was meant to combat.

The failure rate for evolving through the Vine of Ascension was 99%.

Alexander felt both excitement and concern at its appearance. On one hand, he had been pondering ways to rapidly empower the lowest-ranking hunters.

After all, not every hunter could rely on the awakening of super fruits—cultivating those fruits was no easy task!

The Vine of Ascension seemed like a perfect solution, offering ordinary people the chance to gain supernatural strength.

It was practically a weaker version of the super fruits! While Alexander was pleased by its potential, concerns began to creep in.

He wanted to develop his hunters but didn't want to turn this high-level world into a zombie apocalypse!

"If I could remove its infectious nature and eliminate the intelligence-destroying flaw, it would be perfect."

"The Heavenly Flame of Creation can cleanse poisons and calm the mind. I wonder if it can erase these defects," he muttered.

Without hesitation, Alexander summoned the Heavenly Flame of Creation, its power flowing through the spiritual connection he had with the Vine of Ascension.

The rose-like flowers on the vine were familiar to him, like the extension of his own hands.

In less than a minute, Alexander completed the modification of the rose flower. He glanced at the monster girl and handed the modified rose to her.

"Eat it."

The monster girl dared not disobey and obediently swallowed the rose. She thought to herself, "I'm a monster, so even if it's poisonous, it shouldn't cause too much harm."

But in the next second, she realized how wrong she was.

A terrifying sensation of tearing spread throughout her body. Her organs, even her brain cells, felt as though they were being ripped apart.

She lay on the ground, screaming for what felt like an eternity before the pain finally subsided.

[Ascended Form: E-Class]

[Consumes spiritual energy to enter ascension, elevating from a mortal to a higher lifeform. Strength, speed, and regenerative abilities are significantly enhanced.]

[Can absorb spiritual energy items. Consuming the Vine of Ascension flowers and sap further promotes evolution, advancing to higher ranks.]

The monster girl was stunned. It had hurt terribly, but she had awakened a new ability!

Like humans, monsters could awaken talents. The difference was that monsters naturally possessed battle-related talents from birth, and they had a higher chance of awakening multiple abilities in the future compared to humans.

Alexander observed her for half a day before confirming that the Mutant Progenitor's flaw of intelligence destruction had been fixed, and its infectious nature seemed to be gone as well.

He considered purifying the entire vine with the Heavenly Flame of Creation, but after thinking it over, he decided to pluck a few rose flowers from the vine and store them.

The zombie-like effect of the Mutant Progenitor might come in handy in the future.

Alexander poured his spiritual energy into the vine.

After ten minutes, the negative effects of the vine had been completely removed, and Alexander breathed a sigh of relief.

Without pausing to rest, Alexander, brimming with energy, continued burying the remaining corpses. He felt his luck was at its peak today, and perhaps he could cultivate more extraordinary plants!

When the rest of the bodies had turned to ash, Alexander stood back like a proud farmer, admiring his hard work.

A large batch of F-Class and E-Class extraordinary plants had been grown, and five super fruits had been successfully cultivated.

"What... what kind of monster are you?"

The monster girl trembled in fear, sensing the immense power emanating from the plants. She regretted ever provoking Alexander.

Why did she choose to go to that café? What was this madness?

Without saying a word, Alexander grabbed the monster girl and tossed her into the pit he had just dug.

She began to wail in despair. "I haven't eaten anyone! Please, let me go!"

Alexander started filling the hole with dirt.

Mud covered her face, and to an outsider, it might have looked like Alexander was burying a child alive.

The monster girl begged and pleaded. "Master, don't bury me! Go bury some other monsters! I know where they are!"
