God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Ethan Blake Takes the Blame

In the conference hall, only Alexander remained, stirring the coffee before him. His gaze drifted as his mind wandered in thought.

"Knock, knock, knock."

The door of the meeting room was tapped, and Alexander looked over in confusion.

Yvette, wearing a black cat mask, walked in carrying a tray.

She placed the Blue Mountain coffee and fruit mousse cake from the tray onto Alexander's desk and said softly, "I'm sorry to disturb you, sir, but you haven't eaten anything this evening, so I wanted to bring you something."

Alexander didn't blame Yvette for her initiative and graciously began to taste the snacks before him.

In a certain sense, he and Yvette were both entrepreneurs, and she had even more extensive experience than he did.

Yvette removed her mask, placed her fair hands on Alexander's shoulders, and gently massaged him to soothe his fatigue.

"You seem very tired."

Alexander was indeed tired, but not because of the Hunter's Guild's development—it was because of Jackson.

This teacher had once been both his and Rosie's homeroom teacher.

Alexander was fully aware of everything that had happened to Jackson today.

If he were in Jackson's position, he would have acted without hesitation, not fearing exposure at all.

But different positions offer different perspectives.

From the standpoint of the guild president, Jackson deserved to die—unless he could smooth over all the ripples and keep his identity completely secret.

Would Jackson kill a few students? He probably couldn't bring himself to do that.

Alexander hoped that Jackson could eliminate Lorenzo and his gang, using a gentle way to resolve the hidden dangers the students posed.

"Teacher, please don't let me down," Alexander thought.

If Jackson didn't get rid of Lorenzo and his crew, nor solved the troubles brought by the students, then the only one who could die would be Jackson.

At this moment, his phone rang.

It was a backend message from the Hunter's Guild.

[Hunter 'Clown' has posted a mission: Kill Lorenzo of Crown KTV and his subordinates.]

[Mission reward: 15 points.]

Alexander murmured, "It's already started?"

He laughed at himself, "This is his own affair; I'm being overly sensitive."

Yvette used to massage her CEO father to relieve his fatigue; her technique was excellent and very relaxing.

Alexander suddenly felt less downcast; cultivating more extraordinary fruits was the key.

He opened Rosie's shared database on the computer before him and began to post missions.

[Reward Mission: Hunt down John Smith, E-stage combat-talent awakener.]

[Reward Mission: Hunt down Michael Brown, D-stage combat-talent awakener.]

[Reward Mission: Hunt down Robert Davis, D-stage combat-talent awakener.]

Without exception, these people were all fugitives in the sheriff's database.

He needed the spirituality within their corpses.

If he hunted ordinary awakeners, he believed he would soon attract the attention of the security bureau.

But killing these rats hiding in the sewers wouldn't draw much notice.

They had many enemies; who would know they were killed by hunters?

Of course, the missions to collect spiritual items had never stopped.

At the Imperial Nightclub, in the general manager's office.

Lorenzo trembled as he knelt on the ground; behind him were his subordinates, uncertain if they were dead or alive.

Giovani lit a cigarette, flipping through the Hunter's Guild app, and finally found the mission he had been waiting for.

[Hunter 'Clown' has posted a mission: Kill Lorenzo of Crown KTV and his subordinates.]

[Mission reward: 15 points.]

Giovani laughed heartily, revealing two rows of teeth stained black by cigarettes. "Ah, Lorenzo, I really should thank you."

Lorenzo shuddered in fear. "Master Giovani, thank me for what?"

Giovani exhaled a smoke ring. "Thank you for helping me find a friend. As a reward, I won't sink you into the river. Slit your throat and make it quick."

Lorenzo was so frightened that he burst into tears, snot running down his face. "Why, Master Giovani! I've been loyal to you!"

Giovani slammed his fist on the table, his anger flaring up:

"Are you fucking loyal to me!? Today you dare to assault a young girl, tomorrow you might dare to assault me, Giovani! You really deserve to die, Mad Wolf!"

Mad Wolf, understanding the cue, gathered a cyclone in his hand forming a wind blade, and thrust it into Lorenzo's neck.

Lorenzo clutched his bleeding neck, looking at Mad Wolf in terror as he slowly lost his voice.

Giovani, grinning, took a photo of Lorenzo's corpse with his phone, uploaded it to the Mercenary Guild app, and clicked complete mission.

Mad Wolf wiped the blood from his wrist and approached Giovani:

"Boss, should I contact that teacher?"

Giovani waved his hand:

"Absolutely not, it's a taboo for the Mercenary Guild. I just wanted to know who the hunter who owes me a favor really is. Remember, don't dig deeper into 'Clown', delete all the surveillance footage from the Imperial Nightclub corridor.

Clean up the corpse, hand it over to the guild, there's a separate reward for the corpses of awakened criminals."

Mad Wolf got the message and was about to handle the body when Giovani stopped him again.

"Right, besides the flesh trade in the Imperial, stop all the dirty business, let's try to keep a low profile from now on."

Mad Wolf nodded in understanding.

Giovani, messing with the mission, suddenly discovered a bug.

"Collecting spiritual items and hunting awakened criminals gives points, and with points, I can issue bounty missions."

"Spiritual items are easy to buy, and finding those fugitives isn't hard for me."

"Can I use points to issue bounty missions to kill those bastards from the Black Dragon Gang?"

"Doing the simplest thing to take down the hardest bone?"

After figuring this out, Giovani spent all night calling connections to buy spiritual items in bulk and sent his men to hunt for the fugitives listed in the rewards.

Giovani had more comprehensive information on these fugitives than the central security bureau itself.

Seven days later, at the security office of the Eastern District of Bluewater City.

The director's office.

Vincent, with a bitter expression, called his sister: "Sister, it's outrageous, absolutely outrageous! All the fugitives you prepared for me have vanished!

You have to think of something for me, sister. How am I supposed to get promoted without enough merits?"

Vincent's sister, the director-general of the security bureau, not only secured the director position for him but also prepared many fugitives for him.

These were his tickets to battle honors.

Vincent knew the hideouts of these fugitives. Just by capturing them, he had enough reasons to be promoted to the central bureau.

But in just a few days, those fugitives had vanished!

A cold female voice came through the phone:

"Are you sure you're not just playing around and not focusing on your job?"

Vincent quickly responded: "I'm sure! And I suspect someone is targeting me!"

"Who?"

Vincent gritted his teeth: "Ethan Blake!"

This wasn't a wild guess.

According to his sister's plan, he was to become the director first, and after arresting those fugitives, he would be transferred to the central bureau.

The position of chief of the Security officers at the central bureau was originally prepared for him.

Who knew Ethan Blake suddenly awakened dual talents!

He took Ethan Blake's director position, and Ethan Blake directly snatched his chief of military officers?!

"Definitely him, he's afraid I'll take back my chief of military officers!

So he investigated the things sister did for me! He's sabotaging my original promotion plan!"

After a pause, the voice on the phone responded: "Not getting promoted to the central bureau might not be a bad thing right now. Recently, some monsters disguised as humans have infiltrated Bluewater City, and the military officers have to perform dangerous tasks every day. Be careful in the Eastern District too."
