God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 772: Satisfaction (2).

Insanity was indeed subjective...

Cain had a thought.

"What would you say if I told you I was about to do something crazy?"

It was a crazy thought.

To remove one's limiters was not inherently a bad thing. However, limits existed for a reason.

They gave an entity boundaries, which in turn, gave it substance.

The word limitless was nothing but a concept. Even Tian, the supreme God of the Heavens, had his limits.

Because to exist, was to have limits.

And yet, the beautiful thing about limits, was their abilities to expand. They facilitate growth and improvement.

Granted, they were also a form of protection, and getting rid of them in a state like this was pure madness.

Regardless, Cain didn't care all that much.

"I would say doing something crazy now would be the epitome of recklessness." Evangeline said after a brief period of hesitation.

Then she added,

"But recklessness is not necessarily bad."

Her voice dropped to something barely above a whisper,

"Although being reckless can be a good thing."

Cain couldn't help but chuckle.

Indeed, recklessness had a place here.

"And so, what is this reckless thing you plan on doing?" Evangeline asked.

Cain went silent.

There was another loud pop, and then, a flash of blinding radiance. This time, it had been a strange creature that stood on its two hind limbs with rows of blades on its spine that had imploded.

It was a creature from the Godless Realm.

Now, even those creatures were not safe from this disastrous fate.

Cain dulled his senses and shut everything out.

Evangeline called out to him again, but he didn't answer.

Buried within the shadows, she frowned.

A second later, the shadows split open and she tumbled out.

Like everyone else, she was also covered in the golden cracks as well.

Her usually impassive face was covered with worry and concern as she stared at Cain.

He was motionless.

Other than that, there didn't seem to be anything strange going on with him.

At least for now.

A split second later, something changed.

The density of the mana surrounding them suddenly started to drop.

A moment later, Susan's eyes fluttered open.

She stared around in confusion.

The other girls also opened their eyes.

"What's going on?" Susan said through gritted teeth.

Then she noticed Evangeline laying on the ground right next to Cain.

Her brows furrowed,

"What are you doing?!"

Evangeline glanced at her,

"Cain is about to do something reckless."

Susan's brows shut up and she tried scurrying towards him.

Evangeline shook her head and glanced down at him with a grimace,

"It's too late. Don't make any sudden movements." Evangeline said.

"Shut up!" Susan barked as she shuffled towards Cain then placed a hand on him.

Almost immediately, she let go with a pained yelp.

'He's hot!'

Cain's bodily temperature has risen far beyond what was supposed to be normal and it was still climbing. His body was as hot enough to leave behind slight burn marks on her hand.

Jenny rushed forward as well,

"What is he doing? Is there a way to stop it?"

Evangeline let out a sigh and shook her head,

"I couldn't tell you."

Her eyes narrowed, "I have no idea what he's doing."

Roselle spoke up through pained gasps,

"Whatever he's doing may have just saved our lives."

Indeed, the density of the mana in the air around them had significantly reduced so much so that the golden droplets were no longer condensing on their flesh.

This meant they wouldn't have to worry about an overload for the time being.

Despite this, there was no way they could feel joyous.

Because there was a golden orb of slightly undulating liquid mana floating right above Cain.

The orb of mana kept increasing in size and density until it was as big as a tennis ball and looked more solid.

"He wants to kill himself." Susan said, her face dark.

Evangeline sighed, "I should have stopped him earlier. I'm sorry."

Susan directed her dark glare at her. She seemed to hesitate for a moment, but eventually didn't say anything.

Some things were better left unsaid.

All over this strange place, there sound of the implosions were slowly becoming less frequent.

This was because the numbers of still living trial takers that had entered this place was already down to half.

No one knew when the trial would be deemed as over. Would it end when one person met the criteria, or would it end when all those left had completed it.

What was this criteria in the first place? To survive in this hellish paradise for a particular period of time? To absorb a certain quota of mana?

What was it?

Rumbles came from various parts of Buldokak's stomach as many creatures from the Godly and Godless Realms pulled in more and more mana towards themselves in a bid to absorb as much of it as they could.

They relished in their gluttony, confident that their bodies and souls could ensure it. Some of them were right, and the end result would be that they would come out of the trial with exponentially larger mana reserves.

Golden stars floated above their heads as they suctioned more and more mana in.

In response, the environment began to adjust, slowly increasing the threshold density of the mana surrounding them.

However, it would take a while for it to get back to the dangerous levels.

***

Cain stared at the void seeing of darkness that surrounded him with furrowed brows. If one looked closer, they would realize it was not very empty because there were a few colourful stars floating around him.

He clicked his tongue.

"It could work, but then again, something could go wrong."

Although he has said he would do something crazy, he was still a bit hesitant.

The moment he started it, going back would be impossible.

His recklessly crazy plan was simply.

He wanted to create another {Elemental Vault}. Only this time, he would be doing it with a mana core instead of a regular mana shard. Enjoy exclusive content from My Virtual Library Empire

The mana within a mana core was exponentially greater than that in a mana shard.

The space within his current {Elemental Vault} had grown decently after a few small evolutions. Obviously, it wouldn't be able to accommodate the deluge of mana he was trying to introduce.

Hence, he would have to make a new one.

But that didn't mean he was going to abandon or throw this one away.

He couldn't, because it was already a part of him.

This is where the craziness came in...

Cain sighed to himself, then looked up.

Right above him was a golden ball that burned like the sun.

It was glorious, it was splendid.

But more than anything else, it was filled to the brim with mana.

Cain smiled to himself nervously.

There was no way he wouldn't be nervous

The golden ball kept growing in size until Cain figured it had reached absolute limit he could endure.

He stared at it silently for a moment, its golden light washing over him.

Then he reached out with his hand and grasped it.

'Hot...'

It was not warm, but scalding hot to the touch. Despite this, Cain didn't mind. His palm completely enveloped it, and after a moment of hesitation, he put it in his mouth.

And swallowed...
