Glory To Slytherin

Chapter 198

Chapter 196-Rita Skeeter

For those who are new to the architectural structure of the Ministry of Magic, it may be a bit incomprehensible for a moment. As the “face” of the Ministry of Magic, the atrium is located on the eighth floor, and the entire Ministry has ten floors.

If the whole ground from the first to eight floors were raised from the ground, it would not be much different from the layered concept of Muggle architecture.

Ulysses stood in the middle of a wide and winding passage, and it seemed a bit crowded with people coming and going.

On both sides of this arched passage made of unknown black bricks, countless gilded fireplaces are neatly arranged, extending back and forth. Every few seconds, a soft “bang” can be heard, a light green flame banged up, and then the wizard suddenly walked out of a fireplace on the left.

On the right, there seemed to be people getting inside at all times, sprinkling Floo powder and leaving.

It can be seen from such a busy scene that the Ministry of Magic deserves to be the central institution that manages the magical world of a country.

Ulysses walked on the dark wooden floor that was polished to reflect the light. Above his head was a dome made of black bricks, with glittering golden symbols embedded on it. Those symbols are constantly moving and changing, like a huge high-altitude bulletin board.

Going further, you can see that a round fountain is spewing water, and a group of huge pure gold statues stand in the middle of the pool. The tallest of them is a graceful wizard, holding his wand high, with the tip of the wand pointing straight at the sky: around him are a beautiful witch, a horseman, a fairy, and a house elf.

They all looked up at the two wizards with an expression of infinite worship. Shining water jets spouted from the tip of the wizard’s wand, the horseman’s bow and arrow, the top of the goblin’s hat, and the two ears of the house elves.

A few one-foot-high characters are engraved on the bottom of the stone statue: Magic is power.

When passing by the fountain, you can see a lot of sparkling silver sike and copper nat under the clear pool, and a small rusty sign next to it says: The proceeds of the magic fountain are donated to the St. Mungo Hospital for Magical Injury and Injury .

Around here, the sound of splashing water, the explosion of apparitions, and the messy footsteps of hundreds of wizards and wizards mixed together, and it sounded messy.

Most of the wizards dressed meticulously, but with a lifeless expression on their faces, they strode towards the row of golden gates at the other end.

Ulysses left the densest crowd and walked towards the security checkpoint on the left.

The wizard in charge of the inspection was numb. Whoever it was, after repeated inspections thousands of times, he would feel sincerely tired of this job.

Ulysses discovered that this security inspector was not the same person he had when he came to the Ministry of Magic last time, and it seemed that this job was not favored by members of the Ministry of Magic.

After retracting the wand, Ulysses followed the crowd to a smaller hall, where there were at least twenty elevators, separated by golden gates carved with fine patterns in the walls.

When the golden fence door slid slightly open, a large crowd of people rushed into the elevator. Ulysses sighed helplessly, and walked in.

The fence door closed with a clatter, the elevator slowly ascending, and the chain clicked. Immediately afterwards, the indifferent female voice sounded again:

“On the seventh basement level, the Department of Magical Sports, including the headquarters of the British and Irish Quidditch Alliance, the official Gobstone Club and the Patent Office for Comic Products.”

Every ascending one floor, the female voice will coldly announce the floor plan. As the elevator continued ascending, some people walked out every time it stopped on the first floor. When they arrived at the Magic Law Enforcement Department on the second floor underground, almost all of them went out, except for Ulysses and a middle-aged woman.

Her hair was turned into delicate, stiff, and weirdly large curls, which looked very twisted with her face with a big chin. She wore glasses studded with jewels, her fat fingers clutched a crocodile leather handbag, and her nails were two inches long and painted red.

At this moment, her face could not hide her anger, and she glanced at the fence door from time to time, wishing it would climb to the top immediately.

“Basement level, minister’s office, logistics office of the minister’s office.”

The fence door opened again, and Ulysses glanced at the woman next to him and stepped out.

The minister’s office was in a prominent position, and Ulysses knocked on the door, and Cornelius Fudge’s response was quickly heard from inside.

Ulysses walked into the office, and the woman followed him.

Cornelius Fudge was approving documents on his office chair, and when he saw Ulysses, he said:

“Oh, Ulysses, although I don’t know why Dumbledore trusts you so much, I hope you can help a little when I come…Why are you here, Miss Skeeter?”

He paused for a moment, and was stunned when he saw the woman following Ulysses, and asked with an unkind expression on his face.

“I’m here for an explanation, Mr. Minister!”

Rita Skeeter walked in angrily, put her hands on Fudge’s desk, and asked fiercely, “Why have I banned all my reports? And also asked me not to submit manuscripts within three months? Is there anything wrong with my report?”

Ulysses flashed his eyes, smiled as he watched the show, and sat on one side of the sofa.

Fudge’s brows furrowed and his tone became cold:

“Perhaps you can find the Daily Prophet and see what you are writing… so slander the image of the Ministry of Magic. I didn’t put you in Azkaban just because you were a big reporter…”

“But you can ask me to revise the manuscript. It’s too much to seal it directly, right?”

Rita Skeeter stared.

Fudge sneered:

“Skeeter Miss, your reputation is very famous in the newspaper industry, so I don’t need to say more about your reputation? I didn’t feel much before, and only recently I began to wonder why the Daily Prophet would dare to adopt your manuscript? They really are. Can’t the Ministry of Magic take any measures?”

“But Sirius Black’s escape from prison and the theft of Merlin’s scepter are always real, right? How long has it been since the fugitive has been caught? Has the stolen property been recovered?”

Rita Skeeter immediately grabbed Fudge’s sore spot and asked.

Fudge rubbed his eyebrows distractedly, pointed to Ulysses and said:

“We are working hard! The guest over there is one of the wizards investigating the theft.”

Rita Skeeter followed his fingers, her eyes a little weird. In the elevator, she noticed this young and tender wizard of Bufan, but she didn’t pay much attention to it. Now she feels very absurd after hearing Fudge’s words:

“He’s underage, right?”

Ulysses met her gaze, smiled and shook his head.

“Use a minor wizard to investigate? Is this the attitude of the Ministry of Magic?”

Rita Skeeter’s eyes lit up and she seemed to have found some gimmick.
