"Fifty shinobi are heading here, and a group of three that are far from them. It seems too early to thank me, Kakashi. Prepare yourselves," Gilgamesh ordered.
Kakashi stood up, but Gilgamesh walked in front of him. "They are not yet here. You can wait a bit. And I am going next, after all," Gilgamesh said.
"Master, I placed some traps along the way. We should be fine before you go out to battle," Mura answered as he stabilized his body temperature since he was amongst allies.
"Ho? And what kind of trap would that be?" Gilgamesh asked as his feet left the ground and his body hovered slightly above it. The cloaked boy’s eyes widened when he saw Gilgamesh float like he was a witch or something.
‘I could copy this jutsu if he weaved hand signs, but he has mastered his chakra so well that he manifests his just on command. To make it worse, I can’t even read the flow of his chakra or sense it at all to begin with,’ Kakashi thought as he lifted his headband for a second.
‘But this one, on the other hand…’ Kakashi looked at Mura, whose temperature had already reached a level anyone could bear. "I didn’t see his recent fight, so there’s nothing for me to copy… for now."
Explosions were heard as Mura smiled, happy his frozen exploding tags were working. He had only slowed down the explosion by a lot but didn’t freeze them, which made them burst on contact whenever a shinobi stepped on or brushed against one of the tags Mura had hidden around the forest.
"I see. So those were your traps?" Gilgamesh asked, and Mura nodded.
"Ten died, five are gravely injured. Why didn’t you make your own traps? The effects would have been greater," Gilgamesh asked once more, and Mura could only scratch his coily hair.
"It’s time for me to go. Mura, secure the perimeter," Gilgamesh said as Mura nodded and dissipated into cold air, leaving the group.
Kakashi nodded in acknowledgement of how Gilgamesh handled things and didn’t say anything, for now, to see how Team Zero handled things.
"You should know this, Gilgamesh. You are now a wanted shinobi. Your life will be threatened each time you leave the village. Even now, you could be hunted," Kakashi warned before Gilgamesh took to the skies.

"Damage has been dealt to us already, and we haven’t even nabbed the boy yet. This is the last squad that was sent to take out the target; we cannot fail! Our target is being protected by a weakened and poisoned Kakashi the Copy Ninja. We can do this!" the leader of the now forty-five-man shinobi team gave a quick pep talk to his men but found some of them staring at the sky.
"Pay attention and stop—"
"But, Captain… isn’t that… the ‘Gilgamesh’ we heard about?" one of the shinobi said as he pointed to the sky.
"What the? I couldn’t even sense him?" The captain turned around quickly and armed himself with a sword.
"I see, a sword. I wanted to end you all by raining down fireballs, but it seems I will have to test my blade today," Gilgamesh said as his sheathed blade moved to his front, to the surprise of the shinobi below.
Gilgamesh applied wind nature to his blade as soon as it unsheathed itself in front of everyone.
"DEMON! That’s a cursed blade! Everyone be careful!" the leader warned.
"Let’s begin," Gilgamesh said while in the air and sent down his blade with such speed that it whistled as it descended.
The first shinobi that came in contact with the blade dodged it and jumped to meet Gilgamesh in the air.
"Wait!" the shinobi leader cried out.
"Who gave you permission to try and reach me?" Gilgamesh asked as his fingers sparked a little and lightning shot out of them, striking down the shinobi who did a replacement jutsu, avoiding the fatal attack and depleting his chakra reserves.
The shinobi's defiance caused a major distraction in the platoon, but attention was called when blood-curdling screams were heard as the grass below them was painted red with the blood of fallen shinobi.
"He used that lightning jutsu to distract us from the fact that he had already pulled his cursed blade! Leaving him in the sky is even more dangerous since he can send down lightning," the leader of the platoon thought. "It’s his blade! Stay on guard! Squad C! Shoot him out of the sky!" the leader bellowed orders and looked for the blade that kept slipping in and out of his men’s hearts and sometimes decapitating his men.
Kakashi watched in awe as Gilgamesh's fingers controlled the movement of his blade. He came closer to the battlefield because he thought he could help or save Gilgamesh in his time of need, but the numbers of the enemy shinobi were being cut down… quite literally.
A small group of shinobi sent a volley of fireballs to Gilgamesh in the sky; they were probably Squad C, the leader commanded to bring down Gilgamesh. Kakashi looked to Gilgamesh but was too tired to use any high-speed technique to stop the attack.
But Kakashi noticed a smirk on Gilgamesh’s face as fire filled Gilgamesh’s vision.
"GILGAMESH!" Kakashi cried out.
A tornado suddenly formed around Gilgamesh, took the flames from the fireballs, spread them across its form, and expanded outward, burning multiple shinobi. Some used the replacement jutsu but were still caught in the expanding tornado of flames.
Gilgamesh put the tornado to a stop and found the leader and a handful of shinobi burnt but alive. They were protected by their leader’s earth dome technique, but the violent force of the winds cracked the dome, exposing those inside to the flames.
Before they could plan their next move, a black blade flew in front of them, much to their horror.
"Are more of you coming?" Gilgamesh asked, as one of the passive abilities of his eyes activated, whether they had lied or told the truth if they had answered.
"No. We are the last group sent to retrieve or kill the Yamagata heir," the shinobi leader answered with the blade hovering horizontally at his and his men's necks.
Clouds began to gather and cover the sun as the forest suddenly got darker.
