In a bar inside the Hidden Grass Village, three cloaked men walked in, exchanged words with the bartender, and left some money behind without buying anything.
"You heard right? Send a messenger hawk to the Fence Sitter. Our target was bold enough to reveal its ugly head in public," one of the cloaked men said to another, who nodded and left in a hurry.
The other cloaked man who was with the first speaker couldn’t help but add his comment, "This time we will deal with it once and for all."

Kakashi soon jumped out of a hole concealed by leaves in the forest and joined Gilgamesh on the surface.
"You look like you have seen better days," Gilgamesh observed. Kakashi looked like he hadn’t slept for days. A cloaked boy, who appeared to be Gilgamesh's age, crawled out of the hole Kakashi had jumped out of.
"I have been fighting off his uncle's assassins for days on end, even after killing the ones on the way back to the Hidden Sand Village. I had to sneak him out of the village since the uncle was going to get rid of him quietly one way or the other. I took it upon myself to help him. This time, I won’t let someone I can help in front of me die again," Kakashi mumbled the last sentence to himself as he sat down near the tree where Mura and Pakkun, his dog summon, were.
"Greetings, I am Mura Isshin of Squad Zero, captained by Master Gilgamesh," Mura introduced himself.
"I can already tell you are an ice user just by being this close to you. Learn to hide your abilities sometimes, kid, or didn’t your master tell you that?" Kakashi said in a weak tone to Mura.
"He did. At the same time, I would like to make a name for myself in the ninja world. I will tone it down," Mura answered.
Releasing a sigh, Kakashi continued, "I don’t know how wealthy or what connections this boy has that he doesn’t want to tell me, but the number of assassins being sent after him is ridiculous. Nothing I can’t handle, but I got careless, and now I can barely move my arms. I started feeling my arms last night; I guess the dose is wearing off. So I should be fine by tomorrow. Your team should hold back any assassins nearby."
"It's fine, I sensed quite a few on the way here, but we didn’t attack since we didn’t know the situation exactly," Mura explained.
"That’s quite the subordinate you have there. Even now, I still can’t sense if you are standing in front of me," Kakashi said as he tried resting his eyes.
"It's weird. He definitely has a scent, but at the same time, it's like he can turn it off like a switch. He is weird indeed," Pakkun the ninja dog agreed with Kakashi.
"A mongrel dares speak about me?" Gilgamesh said as his chakra flared, causing Kakashi to raise his tired eyes in alarm.
"Oi! Gilgamesh! These guys will start attacking again!" Kakashi warned.
"There’s no problem, right, Mura?" Gilgamesh asked. Mura nodded solemnly.
"There are about twenty of them. Why don’t you test your skills? Let me have a talk with this stubborn boy," Gilgamesh suggested.
Mura nodded and left the small group.
"Are you that confident in him?" Kakashi asked seriously.
"If he can’t even survive this, then he is not worthy of calling me master, following me, let alone gazing upon me," Gilgamesh said cockily.
"You have a way with your words, Gilgamesh," Kakashi said.

Mura rushed forward and felt different presences following and surrounding him, but he didn’t see them yet since they used the trees in the forest as cover.
"Ha! Did that rich brat hire you to come die for him? We are on our way to kill the Copy Ninja and make a name for our mercenary group, so get out of the way," a voice echoed in the forest. Mura stopped running.
"No one hired me. I only follow my master," Mura answered as cold air escaped his mouth.
"So you are that rich kid's retainer, huh? Die for him and our glory then!" the voice said as ten black-clad shinobi, who masked their faces with the exception of their eyes, ran toward Mura quickly.
Mura raised a hand and made the lightning hand sign.
"Hidden Jutsu… Snowland!"
The forest around Mura immediately had a shade of frost ice, and the temperatures dropped rapidly as cold air filled the area in seconds.
An ice staff formed in Mura's hand as he dodged exploding shurikens. He flicked the kunai with his staff, flash-freezing it in the process.
"We have a problem! This guy has an ice kekkei..." someone said as he got impaled by an ice pole extending from the frozen leaf of the grass below.
"Don’t die too soon. I haven’t started," Mura said as one shinobi snuck up behind him and remained frozen before anything could be done to Mura.
"Attacking my back is useless. My defence is even stronger there; you will freeze immediately," Mura said.
"Who are you?" another shinobi asked as he perched on a tree. The rest of the squad imitated his movement so as not to be caught like their comrade who died from an ice pole attack.
"How does knowing my name help dead men?" Mura said as the dragon on his back glowed.
The staff he held increased in width until he couldn’t fit it in his palm.
"Don’t let him complete his attack!" the lead shinobi ordered. The shinobi who could use fire style attacked, and those who could use earth release, along with others, threw exploding shurikens.
"JUST LIKE YOU! I AM BETTING MY LIFE ON THIS AS WELL!" Mura shouted as he touched the staff, now as wide as he was. With his touch, the staff shattered into shards as the shinobi's earth-style and exploding kunai met his body with a bang.
"He does all this and doesn’t have a defence mechanism? Amateur." the lead shinobi said, shaking his head until his eyes widened when he found a large ice dragon covering Mura.
