Ghoul: Starting with Sharingan

Chapter 95: Dominion Over the 24th Ward

[Ding! The host has defeated the SSS rated ghoul, King of the Labyrinth and earned a reward: 200 attribute points!]

Takeshi admitted defeat, granting Byakuya the attribute points.

Though Takeshi surrendered early, it wasn't without reason. With his regeneration abilities, he could have restored his kakuja form quickly. However, during that window of recovery, both Byakuya and Eto could have killed him countless times.

When Takeshi realized he was losing ground against the One-Eyed Owl and faced an even more mysterious and unpredictable One-Eyed King, he knew he had no chance.

"I swear, I meant to pledge my loyalty to the Aogiri Tree!"

Arai hastily explained, fearing the One-Eyed King might misunderstand his earlier actions.

Although he was nervous, he believed the situation wasn't hopeless. After all, the Aogiri tree had been known to spare compliant ghouls. Their raid on Cochlea and subsequent actions in the 24th Ward showed they absorbed ghouls willing to submit, killing only those who resisted.

Furthermore, Arai considered himself a formidable kakuja, certain the Aogiri Tree would accept him.

...

Seeing Arai's groveling demeanor, Takeshi felt a flicker of anger but chose to stay silent. In their current situation, words were meaningless.

Byakuya cast a cold glance at Arai, his voice impassive.

"Eto, you handle this one"

He had no patience for traitors.

"Understood, my King~," Eto replied with a hint of pleasure.

...

Arai froze in confusion.

"Why? A word from the One-Eyed King would have been enough! Why hand me over to the One-Eyed Owl?"

Still unaware of the gravity of his situation, Arai watched as Eto approached, her kakuja form still active. As she drew nearer, the realization dawned on him — something was very wrong.

Without warning, Eto surged forward at high speed, closing the gap in an instant. Her kagune arm swept through the air in a deadly arc.

Arai managed to react, but his transformation lagged, worsened by the injuries Byakuya had inflicted on one of his kakuhous.

Before he could fully armor himself, Eto's attack struck, slicing him in half at the waist and destroying his damaged kakuhou.

Arai collapsed, his upper body supported by trembling arms, his expression a mix of disbelief and pain.

"Why?..."

"I don't forget old debts~,"

Eto replied, her cold murderous intent cloaked in an almost playful tone.

Arai's eyes widened in shock. Years ago, he had pursued Noroi and the young Eto but abandoned the chase halfway. He never expected her to hold a grudge for so long.

But this wasn't just revenge. Eto had understood Byakuya's tone and intent earlier — he wanted Arai dealt with, and this was her opportunity to settle an old debt.

"No! Please, I—"

Before Arai could plead for his life, Eto silenced him, severing his head with a swift strike.

Afterward, she consumed all four of Arai's kakuhous. The One-Eyed Owl grew even stronger, her form mutating further.

Witnessing Arai's brutal end, the remaining ghouls of the Labyrinth felt a chilling fear. Would they share his fate?

Takeshi, however, found some solace in Arai's demise, accepting his own end with greater dignity.

"You have two choices: submission or death"

Eto declared, addressing Takeshi.

Eto bore no personal grudge against him, and Byakuya had given no specific instructions, so she offered him a chance to live.

After a pause, Takeshi spoke, his voice firm.

"I choose death."

"Very well. I'll make it quick"

Eto replied without hesitation, decapitating him in a single strike.

Eto consumed Takeshii's kakuhous as well, gaining further power. Her kagune grew another kakuhou, and her form swelled, surpassing even her father's size.

With their leaders dead, the remaining ghouls faced a simple choice: submit or die. Nearly all surrendered. Only Takeshi had the resolve to resist.

The Aogiri Tree swelled in numbers, edging closer to their goal of 1,000 members.

However, achieving that number in the 24th Ward alone would be challenging. The labyrinth underground territory was vast, with many ghouls hidden away and difficult to locate.

With the 24th Ward under their control, the Aogiri could stabilize and begin expanding into the other wards, just as they had in the original timeline.

1st Ward

Byakuya and Eto had relocated, now residing in a high-end apartment.

The 1st Ward also connected to the 24th Ward, as did all other wards — 24th Ward was, after all, the underground remnants of Tokyo, buried during the First One-Eyed King's transformation into a dragon.

This subterranean network spanned the entire city, making it easy for Eto to travel back to the 24th Ward whenever necessary.

"To which ward should we expand first?" Eto asked Byakuya.

"We'll start with a district where the CCG presence is weak — 19th Ward" Byakuya replied.

As someone with deep connections within the CCG, he knew the distribution of their forces. The weaker their presence in a district, the fewer powerful ghouls there were—a perfect opportunity for the Aogiri Tree.

"As you command, my King~" Eto responded with a playful tone.
