Brandon was startled to see this and looked down at the woman's body 'I am absorbing... Ether from her?'

However, he quickly brushed it off because waking her up is the main concern here.

He sat back and began chest compressions.

His laced his hands together and pressed them firmly on her sternum.

The rocky terrain made it harder to maintain rhythm and pressure, but he forced himself to stay steady.

'One. Two. Three. Four.' He counted silently with each compression.

Her chest rose and fell faintly with each push, but there was still no sign of life.

He repeated the cycle... two breaths, thirty compressions.

As he did that again and again, he felt even more Ether surging into his body.

The black-haired woman exhaled slowly and her hand tightened around the hilt of her dagger as its blade pulsated with electric-blue energy.

Small arcs of lightning danced along its edge, crackling with power.

Three daggers were floating around her and they were also humming with same lightning energy.

The monster lunged forward and clawed its hand down, aiming to cleave her in two.

She twisted to the side dodging the attack as dust and shards of rock erupted where the monster's claws struck empty ground.

*THOOM*

Taking advantage of this, she dashed forward and the ether energy around her body intensified, leaving an afterimage of blue light.

She twisted, spinning on her heel, and the three floating daggers shot forward like arrows.

Zzzzt! The first dagger struck the monster's exposed shoulder, embedding itself between its armored plates.

*THROOM* Sparks exploded, and the monster let out a guttural roar of pain "GUARRRGH!"

It sluggishly swiped at the air, trying to dislodge the blade, but it was too slow.

The second and third daggers sliced through its sides one after another.

*CRACK* The energy crackled and surged across its body, sending violent tremors through its muscles.

The woman didn't waste the opportunity and while the monster was reeling, she dashed forward with a blinding speed.

Her main dagger gleamed as she leaped into the air and the ether energy coiled around her legs to propel her higher.

With that she brought the dagger down straight to its neck.

The dagger drove deep into the monster's collarbone, slicing through the jagged plating with a burst of blue light.

Lightning erupted from the wound, spreading like a spiderweb across its torso.

"GRAAARGHH!!" The monster howled and thrashed instinctively in pain.

One swipe nearly caught her, but she flipped backward, landing gracefully on the rocky ground.

"Not done yet..."

Meanwhile, there Brandon was trying his best by giving her CPR and wake her up.

Huh?

He felt some inscriptions running in his mind and his gaze narrowed in irritation 'What is.. this...'

A blue glint passed through his eyes and a murmur escaped his lips "Gravity... Vortex?"

Suddenly he felt a faint twitch from the woman's body and his hands froze for a second.

Was that…?

He leaned down, watching her face intently.

Another twitch and her eyelids fluttered briefly before closing again.

"Come on. Breathe..." 

He resumed the CPR. Two breaths. Thirty compressions.

This time, her lips parted slightly, and a shallow breath escaped her mouth.

Brandon sat back in relief "That's it. Breathe. You're okay."

The blonde woman's eyes slowly opened and she blinked a few times as if trying to process what had just happened.

"W-what…?" Her voice was hoarse from exhaustion.

She tried to wake up but she was still too weak to stand on her own.

Meanwhile, Brandon felt the Ether energy which was still crackling around his body and he felt a hot sensation near his chest.

Again he remembered the inscription that flowed into his mind.

He turned his gaze to the black-haired woman who was fighting the monster 'Gravity... Vortex?'

His body acted unconsciously... driven by the knowledge that had flowed into him moments earlier.

In the next instant, a square blue seal appeared below the monster's feet.

*THOOM* A crushing, invisible force slammed into the monster and its knees buckled instantly as its body collapsed under the weight of the pressure.

The ground cracked beneath it as the spiderweb fissures spread outward in jagged lines.

"GRUGHH!" The creature groaned as its claws dug into the earth in a desperate attempt to lift itself.

Looking at this the black woman sighed and lowered her dagger from mid swing "Eira, you finally woke- Huh?"

However, as she turned her head, she was shocked to see that her friend, Eira was lying on the floor and the blue energy spiraling around Brandon's body.

'He used... Eira's skill?'

Her eyes widened in horror 'W-What.. a man? Using skill? what?'

Even Brandon himself was shocked to see this and felt the energy flowing through his veins 'So this is... Ether?'

His gaze narrowed in thought and the gravity pressure on the monster increased.

"GRGGHHHH!" The monster let out another tortured roar as its body strained against the unrelenting gravity.

Its limbs shook violently and cracks formed along its skin as the crushing force began to tear it apart from the inside out.

Black blood oozed from its wounds, staining the earth beneath it.

The woman stared at him in shock but she quickly snapped out of it and glimpsed at the monster.

She raised her hand and the daggers floating around her began to spiral, rotating rapidly in the air.

As she gestured, the daggers tore through the air and dashed towards the monster.

*THOOOM* With an explosion, the monster's body tore into pieces and the pieces clattered around.

The woman slowly turned her gaze to the young man as Ether spiraled around his body 'And.. what to do with this Anomaly.'
