Genshin x Minecraft: Building the Temple of Virtue

Chapter 32: 32: Can an Enchanted Golden Apple Break Karmic Debts?

Ryen rubbed his chin, contemplating, and said softly,

"Black flame should represent your karma."

"As for the weathered stone, Ganyu mentioned to me that in the Teyvat world, even the ancient immortals who lived for ages have signs of wear…"

Xiao's expression darkened as he glanced worriedly at Zhongli.

He wasn't as concerned about his own karma, but Zhongli's wear…

That, Xiao struggled to accept.

Zhongli had endured immense wear, something Xiao had thought of, but couldn't bring himself to believe.

No one understands the significance of wear better than an immortal.

Rutou still rests beneath the Wutong Tree…

Xiao wasn't afraid of death, but he feared for Zhongli.

"Xiao, take another look at your negative status. Is there a time display below?"

Xiao immediately turned to Zhongli, who gave a subtle shake of his head.

Xiao then spoke urgently,

"Ryen, no time display…"

"Is that so…"

Ryen furrowed his brows, letting out a sigh.

"That's a bit troublesome."

Ningguang seemed to have grasped something and focused more intently.

"Ryen, can you solve it? Will it have any effect?"

Ryen rubbed his chin in thought, then shook his head.

"In this world, most negative states—even with decay—are time-limited."

"But if there's no time limit, then it indicates a very difficult influence to resolve."

"There are many alchemical potions in this world, including ones that can instantly heal even a near-death person to full health."

"But the potion you need to remove negative effects… I really can't make it right now."

Just as he finished speaking, Xiao's face dimmed slightly, but he still pleaded,

"Ryen, please. Karma doesn't matter much, but wear—please find a way to help me."

Ryen glanced discreetly at Zhongli, who appeared somewhat comforted but still maintained a composed expression, looking around the surroundings.

"Don't worry."

Ryen raised his hand lightly.

"Although it's troublesome, given the magic of this world, we should be able to find a solution."

"Milk alone can cure all poisons. Worst-case scenario, enchanted golden apples can be tried."

"By all logic, any negative status should be eliminated after consuming an enchanted golden apple."

"If even enchanted golden apples don't work, once new modules are unlocked, they will definitely have a way to solve it."

With that, Ryen pulled out a bucket of milk and handed it to Xiao.

"Try this first. But don't have too much hope in the milk."

Xiao hesitated as he looked at the large bucket of milk.

Subconsciously, he wanted to offer it to Zhongli first.

However, aware that both Ryen and Ningguang were watching, Xiao stayed silent for a moment before softly saying,

"Ryen, I can't finish this much alone. Do you have a cup? Let me share some with Zhongli and Ningguang."

Ningguang seemed to confirm something with a light chuckle, shaking her head.

"I don't need it. There are cows nearby if I ever want milk. Let Xiao and Zhongli share the rest."

Hearing this, Xiao immediately turned to pass the milk bucket to Zhongli.

"Zhongli, you try it first!"

This urgency made Ryen sigh awkwardly, rubbing his forehead.

Xiao really isn't suited for acting…

He seems to want everyone to verify Zhongli's identity.

Zhongli, with a sigh, took a few sips of the milk before offering it back to Xiao.

"How is it?"

Xiao asked anxiously.

Zhongli glanced briefly at his unchanged personal panel and spoke softly,

"The taste is good, quite fresh. If sold, it would fetch a good price."

Xiao froze for a moment, still not convinced,

"Is that it?"

Zhongli's voice softened slightly,

"Of course. After all, I haven't been poisoned or anything. I can't feel much of an effect."

Xiao looked a little embarrassed as he took the bucket and drank it all in one go.

"How is it now?"

Ryen, though guessing the outcome, still asked.

Xiao shook his head.

"No change… still the same. But… maybe it's a psychological effect, but I feel somewhat lighter after drinking the milk."

Hearing this, Ryen smiled and nodded.

"Normal. Milk detoxifies. With your years of battle, you've likely accumulated some toxins. Now, it should all be cleared."

"However… karma and wear are no use; it's a bit of a pity."

Ryen shook his head and then lightly patted Xiao on the shoulder with a gentle smile.

"Don't worry, the problems you can't solve in your world may not be unsolvable here. When I get the chance, I'll make a few enchanted golden apples for you to try."

"But I do think karma is the main issue. As for wear…"

Ryen glanced subtly at Zhongli, implying meaningfully,

"I personally believe wear might be a result of living too long and seeing too much, leading to a loss of excitement in life."

"It's a psychological condition, and it's easy to treat. As long as you maintain an expectation for new things, for a mysterious world, wear can be eased, or even resolved."

"Luckily, this world is very new to you, which should be enough to suppress wear."

Hearing this, Xiao exhaled deeply and spoke earnestly,

"Thank you, Ryen."

"It's nothing. We're friends, after all. I'm counting on you to help me cultivate this world."

Ryen chuckled and shook his head before calling out,

"Ganyu, Keqing, once you're done, come back here. Let's discuss today's work!"

Keqing quickly put down her hoe and walked back, while Ganyu lingered by the sheep pen, watching them for a moment before returning slowly.

"Ryen, those sheep are so cute…"

Ganyu's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled, the bell around her neck jingling softly.

"Today's farming was the easiest I've ever done."

Keqing shook her head with a touch of emotion.

"If the farmers of Liyue could farm like this, life would be much simpler."

Ryen could only smile and express that there would be opportunities for that in the future.

He then led the five of them into the villa.

At first glance, they saw a stairway leading down from below the first floor.

"Ryen, you even built a basement?"

Keqing looked at him with surprise, and he nodded, smiling.

"Correct. The top three floors are for resting, so there's no need for a bunch of furnaces or workspaces up there."

"I built a storage area and work area below. For small-scale projects, you can use your personal room or living room workstation."

"For large batches, everything can be done down here."

"By the way, I've finished smelting the glass. Let's go down and get the last batch I need to complete my work."

With that, Ryen led them down the stairs.

Compared to the luxurious, antique-style living quarters above, the basement was much simpler.

Wooden partitions separated the space into two areas.

Torches lined the walls to prevent any monster spawns.

Dozens of furnaces were stacked on one side, while chests were filled to the brim on the other side.

Ryen silently approached one of the furnaces and retrieved the smelted glass.

Briefly explaining, he mentioned that the chests were for storing large quantities of minerals.

After that, he led the group back upstairs.

"Wait for me a moment…"

Ryen waved enthusiastically and quickly headed toward a section that hadn't been filled with anything yet.

The ground there was the only area covered in dirt and stones, with a small, artificial rock formation nearby.

He pulled out glass and swiftly created a transparent space, planting various aquatic plants at a speed that Ningguang and the others couldn't comprehend.

Once finished, Ryen sealed the surroundings. Standing on the blocks, he poured two buckets of water into the space.

Two ornamental fish were added next, and within minutes, a simple aquarium was complete.
