Genshin Impact: Transmigrated as Furina's Second Personality

Chapter 57: The Battle Ends

Having sustained such devastating blows, the Azhdaha Dragon King let out a pained howl.

First, it had been overturned by the combined efforts of Furina and Zhongli, then impaled in the abdomen by Zhongli's stone spear. It had been slashed across the belly by the Hydro General's sword and riddled with countless holes by Felina's torrential Essence of Water.

Now, it had suffered another round of brutal attacks—held down by Felina's crushing Abyssal Pressure, and struck on the back by the warhammers wielded by Zhongli and the Hydro General.

After all this, the Dragon King was severely injured.

The unbearable pain coursing through its body only drove it deeper into madness.

"ALL OF YOU! MUST DIE!!!"

It roared in a frenzy, stomping its foot onto the ground. The impact summoned waves of immense Geo energy, generating continuous shockwaves that surged outward like massive tides, forcing both the Hydro General and Zhongli to retreat.

Then, the Ley Lines boiled over once more, and the surrounding temperature began to climb rapidly.

Rolling waves of Pyro energy surged from the earth beneath, converging into the Dragon King as it absorbed the elemental force.

"Be careful!"

Seeing the Azhdaha Dragon King drawing in Pyro energy, Zhongli immediately called out a warning to Felina.

As someone who had once fought alongside the Dragon King as both friend and ally, Zhongli knew well that while the Dragon King could absorb elemental energy from the Ley Lines to strengthen itself, there was a limit to this ability.

When Pyro energy and Electro energy meet, they produce an Overloaded Reaction, resulting in violent explosions.

If the Dragon King had absorbed just one elemental energy, it would have been fine. But now, it was simultaneously using Electro energy while continuing to draw in Pyro energy.

This combination greatly enhanced the Dragon King's destructive potential, but at the same time, the conflicting elements within its body would create constant elemental reactions, causing it to harm itself.

In other words, after enduring successive heavy injuries, the Azhdaha Dragon King had completely lost its sanity and was now fighting desperately, willing to destroy itself if it meant taking down its enemies.

"PERISH!!!"

With a furious roar, the Dragon King's scarlet eyes burned with an even fiercer brutality.

It manipulated both Pyro and Electro energies, launching a frenzied assault on Zhongli and Felina!

An even more ferocious battle erupted!

Electro energy exploded, Pyro energy detonated, and Geo energy surged with unstoppable force!

The sky was filled with swirling elemental forces, their colors blending into a chaotic storm that blotted out the heavens.

Massive bolts of lightning as thick as tree trunks struck down from above. Mountain-sized spheres of lightning and fire fell from the sky, crashing to the ground in relentless succession.

Huge meteors formed from concentrated Geo energy descended with blazing trails, slamming into the battlefield with devastating force.

When fireballs landed, they triggered explosions. When lightning spheres struck the ground, they too exploded. The meeting of Pyro and Electro energies caused Overloaded Reactions, unleashing even larger explosions.

The impact of falling meteors generated massive shockwaves.

These shockwaves, infused with lightning and fire, rippled outward in all directions, scouring the earth repeatedly. The land itself was overturned again and again, as though being plowed into oblivion.

The battlefield was engulfed in dust and debris. Even a single shockwave could shatter boulders and reduce ordinary mortals to nothing more than a mist of blood.

This scene was nothing short of an apocalypse.

At this moment, people in Liyue, as well as its neighboring nations like Mondstadt, Fontaine, and Sumeru, all stared toward the distant horizon with expressions of shock and fear.

Such a battle, at this scale, could obliterate an entire city in mere moments.

The tremors and shockwaves from the fight reverberated across the neighboring nations, reminding countless people who had grown up in peaceful times of the unspeakable horrors of the Archon War in ancient history.

In the face of combat between beings of such overwhelming power, humanity seemed as insignificant as ants, easily crushed by the mere aftershocks of the battle.

Yet despite the ferocity of the Dragon King's assault, Felina and Zhongli remained locked in combat with it, fighting relentlessly.

The battle raged on for over two hours, with torrents of water, crashing meteors, thunderous lightning, and fiery explosions constantly colliding across the battlefield.

The three god-level combatants fought fiercely, moving from the southern Nantianmen to the eastern Cuijue Slope, and then to the vast expanse of the Guili Plains.

From Guili Plains, the fight shifted southwest to Qingxu Pool, then further southwest to Dunyu Ruins and Lingju Pass.

Finally, the clash moved westward and reached the Chasm.

Wherever they fought, the ground quaked, the sky darkened, and explosions erupted continuously.

The land, mountains, and rivers were all leveled in their path.

This was the terrifying resilience of the maddened Azhdaha Dragon King. Once it descended into madness, nothing could restrain it. Its mind was consumed only by hatred, destruction, and slaughter.

But over the course of this battle, half of Liyue's territory had already been reduced to ruins.

If not for Zhongli and Felina fighting with all their strength to contain the Dragon King, the fires of battle would have long since spread to Liyue Harbor. By now, the harbor and all its inhabitants would likely have been obliterated.

Though the sheer scale of the destruction had been anticipated, even Felina felt her heart ache at the sight of it. For Zhongli, the Archon of Liyue, the pain was undoubtedly even greater.

"Zhongli, if we keep this up, forget Liyue—Sumeru might be wiped off the map too," Felina remarked, casting a glance toward Sumeru, which lay adjacent to the Chasm.

In Sumeru's Ardravi Rainforest region, birds and beasts were fleeing in panic. The forest rangers were busy escorting the residents of the forest settlements to safety.

Even Nahida had reached out to Felina via mental transmission, pleading with her to prevent the battle from spilling into Sumeru's forests.

Zhongli's expression darkened further. He knew all too well that if this continued, they would inevitably find themselves circling all of Liyue, or worse, losing control of the battle entirely and dragging neighboring nations into the fray.

In the meantime, Liyue's adepti—Ganyu, Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, Moon Carver, Xiao, and others—were tirelessly working to block the fallout from the battle and protect the people.

Yet after such prolonged and intense combat, even some of the adepti were showing signs of exhaustion.

If the fight continued any longer, the consequences for Liyue would be catastrophic.

"Azhdaha is now prepared. Even Abyssal Pressure will struggle to create another opening."

"Zhongli, I have one more technique that can create an opportunity, but it will cost me dearly. You must give it your all to end this in one decisive blow!"

Felina's voice reached Zhongli through a mental transmission.

"Understood," Zhongli replied, his tone curt yet resolute.

Receiving his response, Felina wasted no time. She unleashed a tremendous surge of power.

"Furina, observe carefully. Try to learn this move so you can use it to protect yourself in the future," Felina instructed.

With these words, she prepared to execute her most powerful technique.

A colossal burst of energy erupted from her body. Her hands spread wide, fingers clawed, and then slowly drew together. Her interlaced fingers formed a gesture that resembled a cage.

"Essence of Water: Domain of Slowed Currents!!"

With a thunderous shout, an immense flow of Hydro energy converged upon the Azhdaha Dragon King as its center!

Water inherently has resistance; the moment one enters it, movement becomes sluggish and laborious. This, too, is the essence of water's power.

At this moment, vast amounts of Hydro energy gathered around the Dragon King, compressed tighter and tighter as Felina's hands moved closer together.

In an instant, the immense Hydro energy formed a massive spherical barrier, approximately a hundred meters in diameter, trapping the Azhdaha Dragon King within like a cage.

Though the water sphere was only a hundred meters across, under the influence of Felina's divine power, it contained an almost unimaginable density of Hydro energy.

Felina's divine power manipulated the water's inherent resistance within the sphere, amplifying it to an unthinkable degree.

Trapped inside, the Azhdaha Dragon King felt as if it had been plunged into a pool thousands of times thicker than mud. The overwhelming sense of sluggishness and obstruction made even the smallest movement nearly impossible!

It was as though an invisible force had bound its entire body, leaving it completely immobilized.

With the Domain of Slowed Currents in place, the Azhdaha Dragon King was immediately trapped in a state of immobilization.

"NOW! STRIKE!!"

Felina shouted with all her might.

The opportunity would only come once. With the fate of the nation at stake, none of them would hold back.

The Hydro General raised its colossal sword high!

A surge of Geo energy erupted, and five massive stone spears materialized in the sky!

Furina controlled the Hydro General, who plunged its enormous sword into the cracks in the scales on the Dragon King's back.

At the same time, Zhongli swung his dragon claw, sending the five mountain-sized Geo spears hurtling toward various parts of the Dragon King's body!

Just as the Hydro General's sword and Zhongli's spears were about to reach the boundary of the Domain of Slowed Currents, Felina swiftly dispelled the domain.

With the domain's resistance gone, the attacks landed unobstructed.

The Hydro General's sword drove deep into the Dragon King's body, and the five Geo spears impaled it in multiple locations, pinning the massive creature to the ground.

But it wasn't over yet!

Zhongli pressed his dragon claw against the Dragon King, unleashing another burst of the Geo Archon's divine power.

As the Archon of Geo, Zhongli's creations could resonate with one another through Geo Resonance.

The five Geo spears embedded in the Dragon King's body were no ordinary weapons—they were Geo constructs imbued with divine power!

At Zhongli's command, the five spears vibrated in unison, triggering an enormous shockwave of Geo energy within the Dragon King's body.

The terrifying shockwave reverberated through the Dragon King's massive frame, shattering it from the inside out.

Having simultaneously wielded both Electro and Pyro elements, the Dragon King had already been suffering continuous damage from the Overloaded Reactions.

Earlier, it had sustained two devastating rounds of attacks. Over the course of the two-hour-long battle, it endured relentless internal damage from elemental reactions, as well as countless strikes from Felina, Furina, and Zhongli.

Now, with its body pierced by the Hydro General's sword and Zhongli's spears, followed by the catastrophic internal shockwave from Geo Resonance, even the mighty Dragon King of Geo could endure no more.

Its colossal maw opened, and a massive pool of golden blood spilled forth.

The dust and debris stirred up by the battle slowly settled, as if signaling the conclusion of this far-reaching and destructive conflict.

The five mountain-sized Geo spears pinned the Dragon King's equally massive body to the ground.

To its left stood the Hydro General, sword in hand. To its right stood Felina, and before it stood Zhongli, now back in his human form.

With the final descent of the spears and sword, the Dragon King's frenzied roars came to an abrupt end.

Its injuries were far too severe, leaving no chance for recovery. In other words, its death was imminent.

Perhaps it was the approach of death that brought clarity, or perhaps it was the fleeting lucidity of a dying mind. Whatever the case, the crimson fury in the Azhdaha Dragon King's eyes began to fade.

As death loomed closer, memories of its life played out like a lantern's reel within its mind.

Once, it was a sightless rock dragon, dwelling in the darkness beneath the earth. It despised the suffocating gloom and yearned to witness the light above, though it seemed forever beyond its reach. Day after day, it wept in despair.

One day, the rock layers above it split open, and a god descended into its subterranean world. The dragon pleaded with the god to take it to the surface.

The god granted its request, bringing it above ground and gifting it eyes to see all creation.

The dragon and the god forged a contract: it was forbidden from disrupting the order of the surface world. Should it break this pact, it would be sealed beneath the earth once more.

"Human food and wine are quite amusing. I had never tasted such things before," it mused, lost in its memories.

"Heh heh, among the adepti, I have a friend named Marchosius, whose culinary skills are truly remarkable. At the next gathering, you'll get to taste his cooking."

"Azhdaha, you've spent countless years dwelling within the rock layers. Surely you've never seen such things. Come, come, I have wine that's been aged for centuries. Don't hold back!"

"Moon Carver! Mountain Shaper! You two old coots are drunk and causing a scene again!"

"Ahem… Azhdaha, I've been working on a new adeptal creation lately. The golden rock pillars on your back might prove useful. What say you?"

Within Morax's library.

In his human form, with the help of Morax and the other adepti, Azhdaha learned to read and write.

"Humans truly are fascinating creatures. Their lives are but a fleeting moment, yet through inheritance, they manage to amass such profound wisdom," he said, holding a book in his hands, marveling with genuine admiration.

During the Archon War, the earth was in turmoil.

"Humans are fragile. They struggle to survive amidst the aftermath of battles between gods, yet they are as resilient as stone, striving to carve a place for themselves in the tides of time."

"Morax, is this why you hold such affection for humanity?"

So he spoke, and then joined the Archon War, fighting side by side with Morax to defend Liyue.

"I am one of the founders who watched over the birth of Liyue Harbor."

"I wonder how prosperous this harbor will become in the future."

On the day Liyue Harbor was fully built, he and Morax stood together atop a high mountain, gazing at the lights illuminating the newly constructed city.

"Liyue Harbor is still in its infancy, with so much left to rebuild. The people are in desperate need of livelihoods. The mountains are rich with minerals—let the people mine the mountains to make a living."

"No need to worry about me. The survival of the people is far more important!"

"Morax, don't waste your power. Erosion is ordained by the heavens; no force can change it."

"Allowing the people of Liyue to mine the mountains was my own decision. Erosion is a fate I chose for myself. You need not feel guilty, Morax."

That year, at the Chasm.

"Humans have recklessly exploited the mines, subjecting me to unbearable suffering!"

"I only wish to escape this torment. What wrong have I committed?"

"Morax, why do you strike me? Have you betrayed me as well?"

That year, at the southern Nantianmen.

"If I disrupt the order of the surface world, I will once again be sealed in darkness."

"As your closest friend, Morax, this is the only way I can fulfill our contract."

To spare his dear friend any difficulty, he suppressed his erosion with the last vestiges of his sanity and prostrated himself on the ground, allowing Morax to seal him beneath the earth.

In the present moment, the Dragon King opened its eyes.

Having recalled all that had transpired in the past, the hatred and rage in its gaze had vanished.

It turned its head, gazing out at the land it had once protected with all its strength.

This land, which had once been adorned with countless landscapes it cherished, was now a barren wasteland, scorched and ruined by the battle.

The humans it had loved and shielded were now cowering in fear within Liyue Harbor, trembling under the residual force of its own destructive power.

Finally, it looked toward the god standing before it—a figure who had once been its closest companion and comrade-in-arms, but now stood as its adversary, weapons drawn against it.
