Genshin Impact: The Crit Archon

Chapter 37: Red Dragon

Meanwhile Lisa then was looking at Issei, as she was still looking at with him was Jean and Kaeya

Lisa looked at Issei. "So the red dragon emperor has returned, it looks the Pyro vision has chosen a new host".

Jean crossed her arms, her brow furrowing as she watched Issei. "The Red Dragon Emperor... I've heard of that title, but it was always spoken of as a legend. Lisa, are you saying he's the current host?"

Lisa nodded slowly, her eyes still fixed on Issei. "Indeed. The Pyro Vision that boy carries is no ordinary Vision. It's linked to the power of the Red Dragon Emperor—one of the most ancient forces in the world. The previous bearer disappeared years ago, but it seems the dragon's power has chosen a new host."

Kaeya raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the mention of this mysterious title. "I see... So that gauntlet isn't just for show, then. Issei's power might go beyond that of a typical Vision wielder. But what interests me more is how he managed to bring such power here while Inazuma remains closed off."

Jean glanced at Kaeya. "You think he has ties to someone in high places? Perhaps someone who helped him escape?"

Kaeya smirked slightly, but his tone remained serious. "Perhaps. Or he found a way on his own. Either way, we'll need to keep a close eye on him. Someone with that kind of power could easily disrupt the balance in Mondstadt."

Lisa continued to watch Issei closely, her eyes narrowing as she recalled ancient texts she had studied long ago. "The Red Dragon Emperor's power is immense, but it's also volatile. If Issei can't control it, it could spell disaster for everyone around him."

Jean sighed. "We have enough to deal with after the recent attacks on Mondstadt. The last thing we need is another unpredictable force in play."

Kaeya's gaze shifted back to Issei, who was still basking in the attention of the crowd. "Let's hope he's here for something other than trouble. But we should prepare for anything, just in case."

Lisa's lips curled into a small, thoughtful smile. "I have a feeling that Aether will cross paths with Issei soon enough. And when he does, we'll see if the Red Dragon Emperor's power truly is under control—or if it's destined to be unleashed once again."

Jean nodded in agreement. "For now, we'll watch, but we can't let our guard down. The situation in Mondstadt is far too delicate."

Kaeya then looked at Luminis. "I am just wondering what our young Dragon Prince Reaction is".

In the stadium as Aether was showing up someone landed next to him as he saw it was Aether, Aether looked at Issei there eyes meet as Aether pulled out Albion

As the announcement went. "It can't be, it is the Golden Knight of Mondstandt, the rising star the youngest knight to get the title of Knights captain"

Back in the viewing bos

Kaeya just looked at Jean. "Sense when"

Jean looked at him. "Sense he saved Mondstandt with us"

Back in the exam

Aether just looked at Issei. "Impressive power there".

Issei grinned, adjusting his stance as he responded, "Thanks! But it's not just power; it's about how you use it, right?" He flexed his fingers, making the Pyro Vision glow with a vibrant intensity, causing flames to dance around his hand. "I've trained hard for this, and I'm ready to show Mondstadt what I can do!"

Aether smirked, intrigued by Issei's enthusiasm. "I can see that. But you should know, power alone won't make you a great knight. It takes more than just strength to protect others."

Issei's expression shifted slightly, a hint of determination surfacing. "I know that. I want to be a knight like you, to protect those who can't protect themselves. The power of the Red Dragon Emperor isn't just for show; it's a responsibility."

Aether nodded, feeling a sense of respect for Issei's ambition. "Then let's see what you've got, Red Dragon. Show us your skills."

As the announcer called out, "Let the Knight Exams begin!" the arena buzzed with excitement. The first challenge was a series of obstacle courses and combat simulations designed to test agility, strategy, and teamwork.

Issei and Aether took their places at the starting line, the tension palpable in the air. They exchanged a nod of mutual understanding; this wasn't just a competition but a chance to prove themselves.

The first obstacle involved navigating through a series of moving platforms over a deep pit. Aether watched as Issei used his agility to leap from platform to platform, his movements fluid and precise. When he reached a tricky jump, Issei activated his Pyro Vision, igniting flames beneath his feet to propel him forward.

"Nice use of your Vision!" Aether called out as he followed closely behind, utilizing his own skills to maneuver through the course.

Issei flashed a cocky grin. "Just getting started!"

The crowd cheered as both boys reached the end of the first challenge. Aether was impressed; Issei's techniques showed creativity and finesse. "You're not half bad, Issei. Just remember to keep your head in the game."

"Same to you, Golden Knight!" Issei shot back, his competitive spirit ignited.

As the next phase of the exams commenced, they prepared for a combat simulation against mock enemies, testing their combat skills and strategies. Aether knew this would be where they truly showcased their abilities.

Back in the viewing box, Kaeya leaned closer to Jean and Lisa, an amused expression on his face. "Looks like we might have some competition for Aether's spotlight."

Jean crossed her arms, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Let's see how Issei performs under pressure. Aether has faced more than his fair share of challenges, and I don't think he'll back down easily."

Lisa chuckled softly. "Either way, it's good for the knights to see what new talent is coming in. And with Aether's leadership, I'm sure they'll push each other to improve."

As the simulation began, Aether and Issei stood side by side, ready to face the oncoming mock enemies. The arena roared with anticipation, both for the spectacle and for the camaraderie that was blossoming between the two young knights.

"Let's show them what we can do," Aether said, his determination shining through.

"Let's do it!" Issei replied, a fire igniting in his eyes.

With that, the two charged forward, ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.

Aether then went back to the croud, as he looked at Luminis, Eula and Amber

Eule just looked at her husband. "Was that really necessary to um... Show up"

Luminis looked at Aether. "I think papa was cool"

Aether chuckled, running a hand through his hair as he approached Eula, Amber, and Luminis. "Yeah, I just wanted to gauge what this new guy could do. Besides, I can't let him think he's the only one with flair."

Amber smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You definitely showed him, Aether! That was amazing! You should join every exam just to keep everyone on their toes."

Eula crossed her arms, trying to maintain her serious demeanor but failing to hide the small smile tugging at her lips. "Just remember, this is about helping Noelle and the other candidates, not about stealing the spotlight."

Aether shrugged playfully. "What's a knight exam without a little drama? It keeps things interesting." He knelt down to Luminis's level, ruffling his hair affectionately. "And what did you think of Issei? He seems pretty strong, right?"

Luminis nodded vigorously. "Yeah! He's super cool! But I still think you're the best, Papa!" He puffed out his chest, clearly proud of his father. "Can I be a knight too when I grow up?"

Aether's heart swelled with pride. "Of course, buddy! You'll be an even better knight than I am, and I'll be right here to help you every step of the way."

Eula smiled at the interaction, her heartwarming at the sight of Aether with their son. "Just remember, being a knight isn't just about strength. It's about protecting those who can't protect themselves, being honorable, and standing up for what's right."

Amber chimed in, "And teamwork! You'll need to work with others, just like we do. You have a good start with Paimon!"

Luminis giggled at the mention of Paimon, who was currently flitting about excitedly in the crowd, cheering for Aether and Eula. "Paimon is the best assistant! She can help me!"

Aether chuckled, looking back at the arena where Issei was preparing for the next phase of the exam. "Speaking of teamwork, I think we should focus on supporting Noelle now. She's going to need all the encouragement she can get."

Eula nodded, her expression shifting to one of determination. "Yes, let's cheer her on. She deserves this chance to shine."

As they settled into their seats, the announcer's voice echoed through the stadium, calling for the next challenge. The crowd roared with excitement as the candidates prepared to face their opponents.

Aether felt a sense of anticipation. "Let's show Noelle how proud we are of her. She's fought hard for this."

With that, they joined the rest of the crowd in chanting and cheering, their voices blending into the lively atmosphere of the Knight Exams.

As the first challenge of the Knight Exams commenced, the arena erupted with energy. Aether, Eula, Amber, and Luminis found their seats among the roaring crowd, their hearts pounding in anticipation. The announcer called for the candidates to step forward, and Noelle took her place, her expression a mix of determination and nervousness.

Amber leaned closer to Aether, whispering, "Look at her! She's ready to give it her all!"

"Yeah," Aether replied, his gaze fixed on Noelle. "She's come so far. I just hope she can channel her strength and confidence."

As the challenge began, Noelle faced off against a seasoned knight, her armor gleaming under the bright arena lights. The knight wielded a massive sword, showcasing a commanding presence. Aether could see the tension in Noelle's shoulders, but she stood tall, gripping her own claymore firmly.

The signal was given, and the duel commenced. Noelle launched herself into the fray, her movements graceful yet powerful. Aether could see flashes of the determination that had fueled her throughout her journey to become a knight. She dodged the knight's powerful swings, countering with her own strikes.

"Come on, Noelle!" Luminis cheered, clapping his little hands together. "You can do it!"

"Show them what you're made of!" Amber shouted, her voice ringing clear over the crowd.

Eula smiled proudly, watching her friend fight with everything she had. "She's improving so much! Look at how she's adapting!"

The battle unfolded with intensity. Noelle's strikes began to find their mark, landing blows on her opponent. The crowd erupted in cheers with each successful hit. Aether felt a swell of pride for Noelle; she was truly rising to the occasion.

But as the fight progressed, Aether noticed the knight's experience began to show. He countered Noelle's attacks with calculated precision, pushing her back with powerful strikes. Aether's heart raced as he watched her struggle against the overwhelming force.

"Noelle!" Aether shouted, his voice lost in the sea of cheers and gasps. "You can do it! Just remember what we talked about!"

Luminis's eyes widened. "Papa, she's gonna—"

Suddenly, the knight charged at Noelle, swinging his sword down with lethal intent. In that moment, everything seemed to slow down for Aether. He could see the determination in Noelle's eyes as she braced herself for the impact.

But instead of fear, Aether saw a flicker of resolve in Noelle's expression. She sidestepped at the last moment, her instincts taking over. With a swift movement, she raised her claymore and deflected the knight's sword, redirecting its force. The crowd gasped as Noelle seized the opportunity, countering with a powerful strike of her own.

With a mighty swing, she connected, knocking the knight off balance. The crowd erupted into cheers as she followed up with a flurry of strikes, pushing him back and forcing him to defend himself.

"That's it, Noelle!" Eula cried, her voice ringing with encouragement. "Keep pushing!"

Amber was on her feet, shouting alongside the rest of the crowd, "You got this! Show them your strength!"

Aether watched, exhilarated, as Noelle found her rhythm. The fight seemed to shift in her favor, her confidence growing with each successful attack. She was truly embodying the spirit of a knight.

As the duel neared its conclusion, Noelle focused her energy, drawing on the strength within her. With one final push, she summoned all her resolve and launched a decisive attack, landing a powerful blow that sent her opponent stumbling back.

The crowd erupted into applause as the announcer declared, "The winner is Noelle!"

Aether felt a rush of pride as he jumped to his feet, cheering along with everyone else. "You did it, Noelle!"

Luminis jumped up and down, clapping his hands excitedly. "Mama Noelle won!"

Eula hugged Aether, her face glowing with happiness. "She really proved herself today!"

As Noelle basked in the victory, Aether felt a warmth in his heart. This was just the beginning for her, and he couldn't wait to see what she would accomplish next.

After the challenge, Noelle made her way to the viewing area, her face flushed with excitement. "I did it! I really did it!" she exclaimed, beaming as she approached Aether, Eula, Amber, and Luminis.

"You were incredible, Noelle!" Aether said, enveloping her in a hug. "I knew you could do it!"

"Congratulations!" Amber chimed in, her enthusiasm infectious. "You showed everyone what you're made of!"

Eula nodded in agreement, her pride evident. "You fought brilliantly, Noelle. You've proven that you're more than ready to be a knight."

As they celebrated, Aether couldn't help but think about what lay ahead. The Knight Exams were just beginning, and with the Abyss lurking in the shadows, he knew that challenges awaited them all. But for now, he allowed himself to savor the victory, grateful for the bonds they had formed and the strength they would continue to build together.
