Genshin Impact: The Crit Archon

Chapter 28: sneaky Dragon

Aether looked at Jean. "So storm terror has been acting up again"

Jean looked at Aether. "Yes even after he didn't do anything after we destroyed the thing in the four winds Temple".

Aether crossed his arms, pondering the situation. "Strange. It seemed like we had dealt with that problem. Do you think someone might be manipulating him again?"

Jean nodded thoughtfully. "It's possible, but we don't have any leads right now. The winds have been restless, and there's a sense that something is stirring. We may need to prepare for more than just Stormterror."

Lisa entered the room, a book in hand. "I've been researching the ley lines in the region. They're fluctuating, which could explain why Stormterror is acting up again. Whatever it is, it's deeper than just him."

Aether sighed. "Looks like we're dealing with something bigger this time. Do we have any clues as to who or what could be behind this?"

Jean looked at Lisa, then back at Aether. "We need to ask Venti. If anyone knows, it's him. But he's been...hard to find."

Aether grinned slightly. "I'll find him. If there's trouble involving a dragon, our bard will want to be in the middle of it."

Aether left the office as he though to him self, as Paimon was next to him

Paimon looked at him. "So any plans, Paimon has a few"

Aether looked at Paimon. "We find Venti".

Paimon looked at him. "Heh, why that tone deef l Barth that always drink in Diluc tavern".

Aether looked at Paimon. "Rembering, when we first started our journey, and as we did we then saw him talking to storm terror, and him saying he just wanted to help".

Aether's mind wandered back to the first time they encountered Venti, standing boldly before Stormterror, trying to soothe the raging dragon with nothing more than his song. Aether couldn't help but smile a little at the memory.

Paimon floated beside him, her usual chatter bringing him back to the present. "Yeah, Paimon remembers! That bard always seems so carefree, but he knows more than he lets on. So what, we're gonna go to Diluc's tavern to track him down again?"

Aether nodded. "He's always there when he isn't wandering around Mondstadt. If anyone knows what's going on with the wind and Stormterror, it's him."

Paimon crossed her arms, looking determined. "Alright, let's get going! The sooner we find Venti, the sooner we can deal with this Stormterror mess again!"

As they made their way towards the tavern, Aether's thoughts were still on the connection between Venti and the dragons. Something about it seemed off this time, and he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this situation than met the eye.

As then Aether was hugged on the back by a small child as he fall.

Aether head spin. "Luminis what did I say about sneek acting me"

Luminis the Dragon Boy just laughed. "Sorry Papa, but I couldn't help my self"

As then he was removed by Eula, as Eula lookee at Aether.

Eula looked at her husband. "Are you ok Aether"

Aether got back up. "I am fine Eula just doing something".

As Aether dusted himself off, he looked at Luminis, the young dragon boy, with a raised brow. "You're getting sneakier by the day, aren't you?" he said, trying to hide a smile.

Luminis giggled, his small wings fluttering as he hovered next to Eula. "I just wanted to surprise you, Papa! You're always off doing something important, so I thought I'd catch you off guard!"

Eula sighed, though there was a soft smile on her face. "He's been talking about you all day, Aether. It's hard to keep him from running off when he gets like this."

Aether smiled warmly at Eula. "I appreciate the heads-up. But really, I've got to head to the tavern to find Venti. Stormterror's been acting up again, and we need to get to the bottom of it."

Eula's expression grew more serious. "Stormterror? Again? I thought everything was settled after what happened at the Four Winds Temple."

Aether shook his head. "So did I, but Jean said there's been strange activity recently, and Venti might know something about it. He's always got his ear to the wind, so to speak."

Paimon floated up beside them, crossing her arms. "Plus, Venti seems to have some sort of connection to Stormterror, like he can communicate with him. We need to figure out what's going on before things get worse."

Eula nodded. "I see. Well, be careful, Aether. Mondstadt can't afford another catastrophe right now." She gently ruffled Luminis's hair. "And you, little one, no more sneak attacks on your father, okay?"

Luminis pouted but nodded. "Okay, Mama. I'll be good."

Aether chuckled, bending down to give Luminis a quick hug before straightening up. "I'll be back soon. Just need to talk to Venti and see what's going on. Shouldn't be too long."

As Aether turned to leave, Eula gently took his hand, her eyes soft. "Take care, Aether. I'll hold things down here."

With a reassuring nod, Aether headed towards Diluc's tavern, his mind racing with thoughts of Stormterror and what could be causing the dragon to stir again. Paimon floated by his side, humming absentmindedly.

As they neared the tavern, Paimon piped up again. "You think Venti will even take this seriously? He's always so carefree. What if he's just drinking and singing like always?"

Aether sighed. "That's exactly what I'm worried about. But we don't have much of a choice. He's the only one who might have answers right now."

As they entered the tavern, the familiar sound of Venti's lute filled the air. Sure enough, the tone-deaf bard was sitting in his usual spot, strumming away and singing softly to himself. There was a half-empty mug of dandelion wine on the table beside him.

Aether approached the bard with a serious expression, while Paimon hovered behind him with her hands on her hips. "Venti, we need to talk."

Venti glanced up, his bright teal eyes twinkling as he smiled at them. "Ah, Aether! Paimon! It's been a while. What brings you to this humble bard's corner today?"

Aether crossed his arms. "Stormterror. He's acting up again. Jean told me there's been strange activity around Mondstadt. We need to know what's going on."

Venti's smile faltered slightly, and he set his lute aside. "Stormterror... again?" He leaned back in his chair, his expression thoughtful. "That's... concerning. I thought after everything we did, he'd be at peace. I haven't sensed anything out of the ordinary, though."

Paimon floated closer, her voice impatient. "Well, something's definitely up! Maybe you just haven't noticed because you've been too busy drinking!"

Venti chuckled softly. "Ah, Paimon, always so blunt. But no, if Stormterror's truly restless, I'd sense it. Perhaps there's something deeper at play here."

Aether frowned. "Deeper? Like what?"

Venti stood up, his expression now more serious than usual. "There's a connection between dragons and the winds of Mondstadt. If Stormterror is unsettled, it might not just be him. Something in the natural balance could be shifting, and that would affect him directly."

Aether exchanged a glance with Paimon before looking back at Venti. "So what do we do? How do we fix this?"

Venti sighed, adjusting his lyre over his shoulder. "We'll need to investigate further. I suggest starting at the Four Winds Temple again. There could be residual energy there from our last encounter with Stormterror. It might give us some clues."

Paimon groaned. "Not that place again! Paimon doesn't want to deal with more wind and ruin guards!"

Aether nodded, already preparing himself for what was to come. "Alright, we'll head there and check things out. But Venti... you're coming with us this time. We need your help."

Venti smirked. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world."

As the group made their way out of the tavern, Aether couldn't shake the feeling that they were about to uncover something bigger than just a restless dragon. The winds of Mondstadt were changing, and with them, so was the fate of the city.

As they headed towards the temple, the sound of Venti's soft humming echoed through the air, a strange contrast to the growing tension around them.

The trio arrived to the temple, as they did Aether notvee something, something he thought he would never see in any woe

Aether eyes looked at Something nearly invisible. "But how it cane be it from my world"

Paimon looked at him. "Um Aether, what are you looking at"

Aether looked at Paimon then at Ventai. "It is a type of energy only found on my Homeland".

Venti looked at him. "What is the big deal then, it noting"

Aether looked at him. "Because it not a good thing".

As Aether's gaze remained fixed on the nearly invisible energy swirling in the air, a sense of unease washed over him. The energy pulsed faintly, its essence tugging at something deep within him—memories of his homeland that were better left undisturbed.

Paimon floated closer, squinting at the shimmer in the air. "What do you mean it's not a good thing? Can't you just explain it to us?"

Aether shook his head, his brow furrowed. "It's a form of chaotic energy. It's like a rift between worlds. When I last encountered it, it brought nothing but destruction and despair. It's often a sign that something is trying to break through from another realm."

Venti raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism on his face. "But we're in Teyvat now. Whatever is happening here shouldn't affect your homeland, should it?"

Aether took a deep breath, trying to steady his thoughts. "Normally, yes. But if this energy is manifesting here, it could mean that something—or someone—has crossed over. It might even be linked to Stormterror's unrest."

Paimon floated anxiously, her usual bravado faltering. "That sounds super serious! So what do we do? Do we need to, like, fight it or something?"

Aether glanced around the temple, trying to sense the full extent of the energy's influence. "We need to investigate further. If we can find the source of this energy, we might be able to understand what's causing Stormterror to act up."

Venti stepped closer to Aether, observing the energy with renewed interest. "Then let's find it. I can help you locate the source. Just remember that if this energy is from your homeland, it might react unpredictably. We should proceed with caution."

Aether nodded, grateful for Venti's support. "Right. Let's split up. Paimon, keep an eye out for anything unusual. Venti, can you help me trace the energy?"

"Leave it to me!" Venti grinned, his carefree demeanor returning. "I'll use my bardic senses to guide us."

As they began their search, Aether felt the tension in the air thicken, and the energy pulsed in response to their movements. With each step, Aether could feel the energy tugging at his essence, as if it were trying to communicate with him—or warn him.

Suddenly, Paimon shouted, her voice echoing in the vastness of the temple. "Over here! I think I found something!"

Aether and Venti rushed over to where Paimon hovered, her tiny finger pointing at a glowing symbol etched into the stone wall of the temple. It radiated a familiar chaotic energy that made Aether's heart race.

"What is that?" Aether asked, kneeling down to examine it closely.

Venti furrowed his brow. "It looks like a seal of some kind, but it's been broken. Whatever was contained here has been released."

Aether's mind raced as he pieced together the implications. "If this seal has been broken, it could be the reason Stormterror is acting out. We need to fix it!"

Venti nodded, already inspecting the etchings. "But how? The energy is unstable, and we might need to restore the balance first. There could be a way to re-seal it, but I'll need your help to channel the energy properly."

Paimon bounced in excitement. "Paimon is ready! Let's save the day, Aether!"

With renewed determination, Aether focused on the glowing symbol. He could feel the chaotic energy swirling around him, and despite the unease it brought, he knew he had to confront it.

"Alright, Venti, what do we do?" Aether asked, preparing himself mentally for the task ahead.

Venti grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "We'll channel our elemental energy together. You'll harness your Anemo abilities, and I'll join you with mine. We'll create a counterbalance to stabilize the chaos."

"Let's do it!" Aether exclaimed, feeling the adrenaline surge through him.

As they positioned themselves in front of the glowing symbol, Aether felt the weight of his homeland's memories crash over him. He took a deep breath, focusing on the Anemo energy flowing through him, intertwining it with Venti's own.

The air crackled with power as they began to chant, weaving their energies together. The chaotic energy reacted violently, swirling around them like a storm, but they stood firm, drawing strength from their connection.

"Keep going!" Paimon cheered, her voice rising above the tumult.

Aether poured everything he had into the chant, feeling the symbol pulse in response. With one final surge, they released their combined energies into the seal, and the chaotic energy began to stabilize.

As the symbol glowed brighter, a blinding light enveloped them, and Aether felt the chaotic energy slowly retracting, drawn back into the seal. Finally, with a final pulse of energy, the seal glowed a brilliant blue, sealing the chaotic energy away once more.

Exhausted, Aether fell to his knees, panting heavily. "Did... did we do it?"

Venti grinned widely, his carefree attitude returning. "We did! The seal is restored, and the chaotic energy is contained!"

Paimon floated above them, clapping her tiny hands. "Yay! We saved the day! But what does this mean for Stormterror?"

Aether looked at the seal, still panting. "This is just the first step. We need to figure out what caused the seal to break in the first place. If this energy came from my homeland, it might still have repercussions."

Venti nodded, his expression turning serious again. "We should report this back to Jean and the others. They need to know about the danger lurking beyond our borders."

As they made their way back, Aether couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning. The connections between their worlds were growing stronger, and he had to be ready for whatever came next.
